We will talk about the difference between Melayu and Melayu Baru. And what's Melayu Baru?

Many years ago, just when I was about to fest on a famous nasi lemak, I suddenly noticed all seated at same table are not eating.. Only then I realise they are all Muslims wait to buka puasa. I put down my utensils, but a kind gentleman told me " tak apa, you boleh makan, you tak puasa" I told him "tak apa, I boleh tunggu" we all seated quietly for another half an hour before we " break fast" together. That was probably one of the best buka puasa I have had with fellow Malaysians..

Superficial respect and uphold to any rule or taboo of any kind of religion unnecessarily is simply hypocritical and blasphemy of all Gods whereas what one does as a human ethically, morally and righteously is more important than anything. Otherwise, they are merely Satans in disguise.

Great point on the pork, same goes to alcohol. Muslims don't drink alcohol, so when non-muslims sell and/or consume it, it's different but, it has 1000% nothing to do with the muslims at all. Muslims live their own life, and non-muslims live theirs based on their own lifestyle/belief. There's no need for muslims to interfere with others, likewise vice versa. Non-muslims never never interfere with muslim matters such as fasting start what time, when to end fast etc. Spot on, this is so basic as human being even.

A very intellectual man, very enlightening and enjoyable listening to Dr Syed Ali. My immediate reaction looking at the 1 hour.20 minute-length show was to click to a more entertaining video, but got awe-stuck after listening to him. I was struck by his eloquence and clear explanation and insightful observations of the happenings in Malaysia.

Finally, here's a Melayu jati who does justice to his people and nation - no hold barriers, bare truths and person of knowledge and wisdom. Sadly, the majority now preferred the melayu moden progression of wealth accumulation rather than culture and living customs. No wonder so much confusion, fear and defensive provocations amongst the Malays of today.

As a matter of fact, what he said is what the real Islam should be, and no Mufti, Ulama or Ustaz in our country today can ever be compared next to Dr. Syed Ali here with his level of eloquence in the way he explains stuff. No more "what's his race?" rhetoric anymore. Other than that, I can see much of Mr/Ms Gan's points here are perfectly fine, so no issues👍

An excellent session, indeed. Very insightful and addressed many pertinent issues faced by the people of this country. I find the discourse on differences between the orang Melayu and Melayu Baru very interesting and accurate indeed. Datuk Dr. Syed Ali mentioned near the beginning of the session that he will touch on the topic of today's ulamaks later but that did not happen. If it's not too sensitive to talk about, how about sharing Datuk's thoughts on the ulamaks in the follow up session? And maybe also share his opinion on whether corruption is acceptable and halal in Islam?
