RB Salzburg spends twice the money than any other team in the league and after years of dominance they might get beaten again after 10 titles in a row (and back then they were far from the juggernaut they later became).

It's just United fans on the ultra-defensive as we don't have anything to be genuinely positive about and that reality has set in, it hurts no matter where you look. Yeah, Ratcliffe has come in and that's a glimmer of hope, but in reality the Glazers are still there in the background, whilst Ratcliffe's previous ownership models need highlighting

I don't think Zealand is biased against Manchester United, I think he just loves a good underdog story, the kind of thing that normally only happens in FM. Pretty much everyone except United fans wanted Coventry to get the final, same as we all want Leverkusen to go unbeaten. It's an FM style story in the real world.
100%. My Dad and I are Villa fans, and he especially really dislikes Coventry. Lived in the city as a young man, got absolutely roasted by Coventry fans, has always held the rivalry in high regard - more even than over Birmingham. We are at Villa Park for the game where Villa beat Coventry to relegate them in 2001 and Dad still refers to it as as one of his favourite ever games.
He was still rooting for Coventry in the semi-final. The underdog story is absolutely everything. You can't take it personally - if anything it's a compliment to your team.
Hey Z, I just wanted to say that I actually really enjoyed the Sir Jim Ratcliffe video as a Manchester United fan.

There’s an old United saying ‘Hated Adored Never Ignored’. I’ve had a season ticket at Old Trafford since I was 8 and went to my first game over 30 years ago. Zealand clearly does not hate United. I’ve seen people hate United for years. I’ve had people hate me because they hate United. Zealand does not hate United. Can we all just please chill a little, not jump on every little statement or omission, and just get on with laughing at Liverpool ;)

This isn't going to change anyone's opinions, I hope you know that. Football fans are very bullheaded, as you know yourself. They feel like they _have_ to defend their clubs, everything going against my club means we're getting screwed, etc. I'm a lot like you in that sense. While I support Chelsea in the Prem, I don't really dislike any of the other clubs. I make fun of Tottenham, sure, but ultimately I just wanna see Chelsea do well. I focus on particular players more then I support the clubs in general. This might just be an American thing, since I don't believe we have the same culture then Europe's "Live and Die with the club" mentality.
Ultimately, who cares? It's just a game. Let them believe what they want.

There is nothing that gives away fan bias more quickly than claiming that your club has been 'wronged the most by referees'.
They're not out for you, they just make mistakes, mistakes that may cost your team but also mistakes that cost every other team in the league.
As a Liverpool fan it annoys me to no end that one of the most common things our own fans talk about is the “refereeing agenda” against us.
No. No. There’s no agenda. The refs are terrible, but that’s because they’re making bad decisions in real time at that exact moment, and have inept backup from VAR. If the refs hate Liverpool because of the abuse they get from us and the club, then the refs probably hate every club in the sport because they’ve gotten abuse from all of them.
It makes no sense to assume that “this Manc ref is a closer United/City” supporter and is trying to help them.” I’m very sure that if said Manc ref was officiating a United/City game and got abuse from their players he’d hate them too.
Oh for sure the refs fuck everyone over. I feel like the only thing Man Utd can say that truly has been really bad for them is injuries - entire backline has been injured at some point, and the two best parts of it for almost the entire season, no Mount, Martial - but then you look at teams like Brentford who also have been royally fucked, and its affected them much worse, relegation was on the cards at one point.

So in a way they are correct, though the refs weren't out for Arsenal and Liverpool either, just favouring Man City

This has become one of my favourite channels, it's filling a sort of niche that I have been after for aaaggeess, but as another comment said it really feels like the vibe is sitting down, having a beer, and talking sports. And I think that's why so many of us eat meals and stuff when we watch these, keep on keeping on. (and as someone who hates United, you don't come across like you do at all)

As a kid I liked a Dutch youtuber called Gamemeneer. He always had his own way of dealing with critics and not nuancing everything he said and sometimes just saying how things are without a filter. I liked that about him. Now that I've outgrown him and his target audience is younger then I am, I'm happy I found somebody else who talks the same way about things and loves FM and Football just like me. Never change who you are or what you do if that's not something you want to do. Stay humble, stay chill.

As a fan of a team lower down the english pyramid, big clubs are very easy to dislike, especially those like United who won everything during your childhood and everyone else claimed to be a "fan" of. But nowhere did i get a sense of hatred to the team in the video.
As is always the case with yours content, it was balanced, well-researcher above all else entertaining. Thats all anyone can ask for. Keep up the incredible work Z.

I'm a Utd fan, thought the Ratcliffe video was fine. There was a couple things I didn't agree with but it is what it is.
Not to defend the comment (which was a pretty dumb comment IMO), but I think there is a section of the United fan base that view any negativity towards the club as spite, purely based on the idea that, because we were as dominant through the 90's and 2000's, fans of others clubs hate that we "ruined their childhood". Whilst that is sometimes the case, there are a lot of occasions where that negativity is deserved and we also have to look inward towards the club.

You made a comment a few months ago on stream that certainly struck me as distain for United. Essentially, the conversation was about South American wonderkids. You suggested that United must think they're too good to take a chance on South American wonderkids. This, despite United consistently buying young talent from South America and currently having two young South Americans that I can think of.

There is a fair amount of hope for the future after a decade of ridiculousness, however nothings foolproof, and there are some concerns, exactly as you pointed out! They are the sisterteam to AS Monaco and this season we are in the top 6 of the belgian league. a few years ago we were fighting relegation ... Hell when AS Monaco bid on our team we were in the second division. (I understand Girona and City also works well as a sister team, but they play in a top 5 league so in my opinion a lil different) Anyways you should take a look at Cercle nonetheless haha! Tbh Nice is a more interesting club than Man U since it doesn’t get nearly as much coverage in English. They have so many good players and should probably be top 3 in the league together with Marseille and PSG. The French league is just chaos all around and I love it.

The point about feeder clubs, was not ManUtd is the only one with a feeder club, but rather, Lausanne and subsequently Nice did not want to be a feeder club. So it is more a comment on the identity and those clubs own perception, and the risk inherent when one rich person own multiple clubs, that has their own identity and do not want act as a secondary structure in the "main" clubs vision, but rather are a club in their own right. That does not translate to ManU is bad. This is WhatAboutism.
