  • There's definitely no way better to give your La Marzocco Linea Mini a bespoke face lift than by installing a Specht Design Premium Kit. The premium kit replaces the steam tap and hot water knobs, brew lever and surround as well as the group handle with beautifully finished timber pieces that are crafted in the Specht factory in Victoria Australia.
Specht are an Australian company who specialize in customising all kinds of coffee machines. In their own words "Specht takes the best espresso machines and components in the world, and refines, replaces and enhances them in a way that makes them exceptional."
In this video Luke goes through the process of removing the old components off a second hand Linea Mini we have and replacing them with the Specht Premium kit. We even add some custom timber badges that we've made up to really take it to another level.
We hope that you enjoy the video and it inspires you to give your machine a face lift. Thanks so much for watching!🤟

For what it’s worth, the “tricky washer” is called a lock washer. When the nut compresses it, there is a bit of spring to it that keeps outward pressure on the nut, ostensibly keeping it from vibrating loose. No need for thread lock. I was just telling my wife last night that the Mini is the last item on my coffee bucket list, so the timing was perfect, as was the video. Nice work.

Thank you, I thought it would have some tricky name, like the swage washer. 😂

Thanks for showing the ‘warts and all’ installation, very honest and much appreciated 👍

Thanks for showing the grunt work. So anyone knows it’s not just pop off and pop on. Wood really makes it look better.

It’s changes the whole look and feel. Nothing happens in a click of the finger anymore. 😂

A piece of cloth under the crescent would definitely be a better idea

Very interesting presentation. An alternative name for your 'split pin' is 'Cotter pin.'

In the UK those washers are sold as “Shakeproof Washers”.

Great video, I was going to upgrade my Linea Mini to the Specht upgrade, they tell you to use a heat gun or hairdryer and heat the handle where the rubber joins the metal, it loosens the loctite glue.
    Kind regards from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

P.S. loved the bit where you said, grab some lube and grease your nob 😂😂😂😂😂😂, so funny, I’m not being cheeky, I’m just a 66 year old Scot that likes a laugh.

How long did this really take? Seems complicated but Luke is so
Calm and makes it sound straight forward haha

It was pretty short, the video is the time it actually took, except for the 10 retakes of “lube on the knob” 😂 allow 2 hours if your not confident and you will be fine. Cheers luke

😂 welcome to the club. The first step is admitting you have a problem. Well done 👍🏻
