La Marzocco Linea Mini Gear Pump Profiling Mod with Acaia Lunar Brew By Weight

- PCBs are complete! This mod allows for EMP mode, Slayer mode, and customizable programmed profiles with infinite phases based on time, pressure, flow rate, and weight by replacing the stock pump with an FG304 gear pump. As shown in the video, it will automatically connect to an Acaia Lunar 2021 for brew by weight functionality.
This is awesome, will definitely be keeping an eye on this project for when it might be available for people like me to purchase and install DIY.

@willemvanliempd we are working on it as we speak! The micra has very similar functionality but some different connections on the stock board. We are planning to have this mod installed in the first Micra this week.
We're also working on v2 of this mod that will replace all of the stock electronics on both the mini and micra to make the mod much simpler to DIY install - unplug stock board, replug into v2, remove stock pump, install gear pump. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer!

Do you think it would be possible to do a mod where we can get mixed water for the hot water tap rather than bloody lava direct from the boiler.
I think its possible, but I haven't ever explored that on the LMLM. I think you'd have to add in a mixing valve somewhere along the hot water (/"lava" - I love it!), but I'm not sure where that would be. Let me give it a look next time I open up the machine!
Could look into some sort of Venturi setup to pull water from the reservoir when you open the hot water valve. Might work?
@@hurcorh love the thought... I'll have to ponder that one a bit more, but I bet something like that is possible! I wonder how the GS3 does it with the mixing valve? Will study up on how that works.
@@wecoffeecogs3 is plumbed so at least has line pressure behind it too I guess. Astoria uses a similar adjustable mixing valve on their commercial machines.
@@hurcorh the gs3 has an option to be plumbed, but not a requirement, right?
Is this available as a DIY kit?
Not quite yet, but we're working on a full kit for others to install! I do have extra PCBs and FG304 pumps I can sell, but still finalizing the mechanical parts to mount everything inside the machine, and no wiring kit exists yet.

@madmicrecords thank you so much! We've been working really hard on it and it is really fun to get to use. We're hoping the next version will be super easy for other folks to install and will retain the classic look of the machine but still allow full control of the gear pump.

@be.wu.u yes, it absolutely should. I havent tried it yet, but I believe the hardware is similar enough.
We are also working on a PCB v2 that will be a direct replacement for the stock board with full control of the gear pump, and are working on a wireless screen to keep the original anesthetics of the machine. It will take some time to get there, but we plan to continue making videos to show our progress!

@be.wu.u good input - thank you for your $0.02 here too. We'll take a look at this and see how we might be able to work that in. Also planning to add digital steam boiler pressure control (and of course maintain thr brew boiler digital temp control).
