Always good to be back filming. Where did I learn all this? Well, It all started with an old dude I never met named Red. Red was an expert outdoorsman, camper and woodcrafter. He taught everything he knew to these younger guys named Flat head ED and Big Nose Mac. They camped for years and years with him then, as they grew older, I camped with them two. I guess I got to learn from a combo of three old dudes that really knew what they were doing. Thanks for watching my friend.

So you may not hunt, trap, or fish on camera, we all know you are NOT in a survival situation, and your skills shine through brother honestly, just doing your thing! I would NOT CHANGE NOTHING!! Hi Dave - I have watched a countless number of your videos-love ‘em all; so relaxing, informative and entertaining. One of them is inspiring me to actually think about getting a sewing machine and learn how to use it. Another one on how to keep from getting lost and how to recover if you do get lost, all by using a compass, is very empowering; I forwarded it to family members so they don’t end up like Geraldine Largay. Though I am 66 yrs old and haven’t taken time to pursue camping in my spare time, I am big on all the basics of survival and being prepared to deal better with life’s uncertainties. Thank you for all your videos. They are much appreciated. I actually find them to be good therapy when I need to relax and unwind from all the craziness going on over the past few years with COVID, etc. Keep up the great work for as long as it brings you joy. Those things sure help with changing the heighth of the pot without having to rehang rope over and again. They are clever. You've thought those handles out real well. I think the double hooks also give more stability to the pot. Well done. That tripod disk is really neat! If the disk was made bigger a fast tarp shelter could put up quickly. Especially when those sudden severe storms pop up.

I never get sick of seeing Red's Rings on your channel. I also use leftover household wire like you for hanging or wrapping things around the house. I actually also have some of the wire coated by that plastic material also, to hang a bottle off my backpack and have a couple pieces of it in all my packs for emergency use when it is too cold or wet to mess around w cordage. It has also been helping hold down my tarps around that year round hammock shelter of mine I told you about for nearly 3 full years now.

Good to hear that Barry. Amazing how much we throw away that can be reused. Thanks for watching

I'm glad you liked the set ups. That taut line set up is a handy one for swinging away from the fire. I usually just go up and down with it tho. It works great prrobably either way. I had heard they did away with the responses because of spamming the larger youtube channels, like the Vevo channels. Thanks for watching my friend.

Man... Another awesome video. Several neat pot hanger set ups that I've never seen before. And a couple that I remember my dad and grandad using in the woods when I was young.

I just bought a Zebra pot so it's great to see all these options. I don't have a workshop. I will use slip knots and wire hanger hooks. Thank you!

Back in 1973 I was invited to a BSA Wood Badge a training course for Theodore Roosevelt Council Phonix Az…. All of these techniques were covered in that course. But over the years I had forgotten about most of them but your “Reds Rings” were taught and I have replaced the wood with Karabiners, in fact Karabiners can be used in nearly all of your “Waltzing Matilda - boiling Billy” (Billy being the pot) set ups…

Wow! That twist-disc thingy' seams like a really smart setup! Easy to store in your backpack and easy to operate in the heat of a intense outdoor cookout extravaganza. I'm definitely going to build me one of those. Thanks for the great tip!

LOL, Im ok brother! Always good to be back filming. I gotta agree man, there is such a thing as thinning out the smaller trees to give more room for the bigger ones. Most of the comments on killing trees just get deleted, I never bother answering them. Thanks for watching my friend.

Sounds cool. Carabiners work well but I used the wooden rings out of respect for Red since he created it that way. Thanks for watching.
