I started out watching Dual Survival with Cody L and Dave C. I quit watching after they both left. I am an information person. I watched your video and stopped when you mentioned the Frost Scorpion machete. I immediately found it on ebay. I returned to the video and stopped again when you mentioned the small "out of style" brand breakdown shove. I immediately found it on ebay. It is being sold by Rothco. A name you have mentioned before. I have found you to be a reliable source for quality inexpensive equipment. I am retired on a fixed income and appreciate all the suggestions I can get. Keep the great videos coming. Thanks!

I absolutely LOVED the team of Dave and Cody. They had fantastic chemistry together and back in the beginning of Dual Survival them two guys made sure it was an educational show. As time went on and hosts came and went, I just could no longer stomach watching that show because it became evident that survival experts werent running the show but a producer that knew nothing about the outdoors. Im so happy you found gear that I have mentioned !

If I remember right, the SP 52 has a full flat grind so it behaves like a machete. The SP53 has a saber grind so it kinda acts more like ans axe. I process more wood than I do grass and brush clearing so the SP53 is the clear choice for me. Take care and thanks for watching my friend.

I am buying some velcro really soon. I saw your video about attaching knives to your machete sheaths and then I saw a guy create a strap system for his Mora Eldris using the velcro like webbing. Thanks Digger, I wish they still made that axe but sadly, it went out of production back in the late 80s. You never sieze to amaze me, some of the things you make should be sold, Why don't you get a PR man and sell your ideas, or somehow get some companies and talk with them. Anyhow I don't mind wearing a Survival Belt with my Trio Cutting Tool's and a Pouch for necessities , and still carry some type of backpack, this way I can even add a Canteen and go Scouting or look for some fat wood. But your right. If it's too heavy it's no good, and I told you I'm not that handy sawing things together like you, But check this out, I have to be practical and that costs. I've been carrying my Rodent 5 in a dangler leather sheath with a firesteel, my 2Hawks Double Bit Hatchet with leather sheath that matches the color of my belt knife sheath, and my Wicked Tough Saw, the sheath for that is pretty good because I can put my folding saw in a opened possition in it, it doesn't weigh much either, infact my knife and double bit hatchet and saw are not that heavy, but I do trust the quality. and if I add a full canteen to it the canteen would be the heaviest, But I've worked on which tool's suit me for durability and confort, I have to, recently I've been in some rough places. Anyhow I still enjoy having a hot coffee on the open fire and the tools work good for that too, I as you know can change combinations, I also enjoy my 3V Bravo 1, but I really prefer just a little longer blades especially when I baton, I just like more blade to baton on, but I'm reasonable what wood I baton because I like using a hatchet for processing wood, axe tapping makes easy work of it, Oh, have you used your Stromeng Leuku on your camp outs ? I would like you do a video with you using that Leuku, I have one too, again, I really enjoy watching your videos, I really liked that Spirituality video when you talked about some of your old Mentors, Fat Nose and Flat Head, that was touching, Your alright in my book, be safe and take care Amigo, , ,

+paulie 4x Man it sounds like you are very well equipped for anything! To me, nothing beats a trio of tools. Knife saw axe or a knife saw machete. I think them folks who just go out with a knife only could be asking for a world of extra work. I have used my Stromeng on camp outs but I never use it as my only tool. I guess Im too used to a big heavy machete for chopping to just go with a single knife. I loved all them years spent with my mentors. I can easily say there wasnt much them two couldnt do. @RichTheRidgeHunter Im glad you liked it Rich. I have been trying to show the Do Rag ever since you had asked about it but I just never got a chance to squeeze it in. Filming on trips can be hectic at times, Ha Ha. I think I coverd most asked questions in this one. Thanks for watching my friend.

Thanks! Im glad you liked it. The majority of this video was due to all the questions I get. I think theres a lot of videos on outdoors and camping, I think they just dont explain a whole lot about it, they just show the camping part. Thanks for watching my friend.

Thanks! Well I can say this, the modern light weight gear is fantastic if you go on hiking trails and to camp sites. I go to some pretty rough areas with thorns, bushes, trees and thick brush. The light weight stuff just plain gets ripped, busted, torn and burn in my care, Ha Ha. I pretty much have to stick to the heavy duty military gear. Im glad I explain things thats understandable. Alot of folks just dont understand anything I do, Ha Ha. Take care and thanks for watching my friend.

An extra large shirt thats only cut once will work. I say cut once because you cant use the back and front for two do rags. The back and front become one do rag, theres a seam tho. I used to use old t shirts all the time but now i get fabric from the store for like if I want olive drab. Lots of times they will mark way down if there only a yard left on a roll. thats close to perfect for a do rag. Nick says "Thank you Sir" I thank you for the comments brother and thanks for watching my friend.

@LV2daHilt I had tons of questions about the bungees so I had to show them. The sewed cloth tubes that slip over them do increase the life of the bungees big time. Yes, Christmas time is for family, food and gear! Ha ha, Im glad you liked it, more videos coming, keep and eye out for Mr postman and thank you for watching my good friend.

@TheSonofthunder7 Im positive it will work with any tablet fuel. I was looking for a stove desgin that would burn anything and have a second use. i wound up with a scoop, spoon, mini shovel, torch stove. Ive only had to stove for about a month and so far Ive burned pyro gel, trioxane, dura flame log chunk, kerosene, alcohol, alcohol soaked wood chunk. Anything that fits in the tray and is flammable, will cook or make coffee. Thanks for watching my friend.

@CGLouisiana I never new that. Funny thing, New balance are the only running shoes I ever wear. Must be why I love the boots so much. They weight darn near the same amount as some sneakers I've seen. Thanks for watching my friend.

If you have the Y suspenders with two hooks, I believe you. They may be different designs out there but the ones Ive actually seen in person had no hooks on them , the butt pack had to be attached to a pistol belt that was attached to the Y suspenders. My H suspenders have the hooks attached directly to the suspenders allowing the buttpack to be mounted up a little higher than the pistol belt mount. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching my friend.

I cant really say because I have never owned any of it. I used one of his ferro rods once and it worked pretty good. I like how when the BG Parang had issues they recalled them and replaced them for free. That was good of them. Thanks for watching my friend.

Well, that would be nice but i work very very slow, ha ha. thanks for the comments on the knives. I went to the big blade show in Atlanta last weekend and I could not believe the number of knife makers. there are way way too many of them to make any real profit as I can see it. I doubt I would ever make knives or machetes to sell. Grills and cookware and shelter stuff would be a better choice for me. theres less competition. I dont have the free time right now tho. Thanks for watching my friend.

It sounds sloppy but, when ever I make a knife or machete sheath out of cordura I alway line the inside with a cut up folded over piece of a 2 liter bottle. The 2 liter bottles are made out of polycarbonate which make fantastic sheath liners. They seem to last forever. Like I said, sounds bad but its cheap and it works. Thanks for watching my friend.

Im subbed to that channel too and I can honestly say that without even watching the video that ANYTHING that Mors says, I have to agree with. He is the master. OK, about the 5 day thing, I always carry a whistle and a compass with a mirror in it. I also carry a cell phone on most all trips. Im pretty sure a padded wooden box would float for awhile but, plastic might be the better choice. I hope I hit 6,000. That would be cool. Thanks for watching my friend.

@squidboy0769 You will love the tru spec pants. Very well built and darn confortable. Not too high either. I was planning on showing that shirt that someone had asked about but, there was no reason because they dont make it any more. It was a Cabelas Safari series shirt. I wish they still made them, it was my favorite shirt. Now I wear L.L. bean bug off, Rough Hewn, Iron tough Combat or tru spec shirts. The shirts are all about the same to me.I'm glad you liked it Thanks for watching my friend.

I bought them in person at Lowes but they quit carrying them. You can still buy them online. The name of the company is "Secure-Tite" The tag says Carabiner Style Bungee Cord. They come in 48 36 and 24 inch lengths. I made the cloth coverings to protect them. hope that helps, Thanks for watching my friend.

@medicjimr Yes, thats why I made the point that I wasnt downgrading anyones gear or taking a cheap shot at them, Ha Ha. I have seen many different ways of coiling rope and for me, and the fact that I never cut my rope during shelter building the way I wrap it seems to work the best for me. I love having a knife right there, handy on my machete sheath. Thanks for watching Jim my good friend.
