- Hey guys, in todays video I am reviewing my shigura brakeset.
Mt thirty brakeset - www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai=D...
Shimano Deore m6100 brake levers - www.thundermountainbikes.com/...
Shimano M6120 brakeset - www.ebay.com/itm/SHIMANO-Deor...
If you're considering the Sram codes, I would use Pinkbike.com used marketplace.

Magura hose is the same as Shimano BH59, so be sure to use a BH59 barb. If you don’t they might work for a while, but they will leak. That could be part of the sponginess you experienced if you used barbs that came with the Deore levers (which comes with BH90).
I ride MT5 calipers with XTR levers. Love my shigura!
I run MT7’s with XT levers and they’re rock solid, no sponginess at all. I think you’ve probably still got some air in there. Power is way above my other systems. No going back for me.
I've just done this with m8100 levers and I don't get the same solid thunk of pad contact that I get with the old deores on my last mtb and the lever is very soft. I used a magura barb and shimano olive and compression nut, but the lever just feels soft the whole way. I bled them back and forth many times and pulled a vacuum to remove any dissolved air. Did you have this problem when setting them up?
I also did a shigura with a M6100 lever and a mt5 e stop calliper(like the pads so yea) and the secret for snappy lever return is using the shimano bh90 hose and its fittings. In order to make it fit i drilled out the m5 threads in the calliper with a 5mm drill and retapped a M6 thread for using M6 banjo. I have ample pad gap after balancing the pistons, tons of power, pad contact is solid.
Sick video!
Thanks!

Are the hose nuts that screw into the outlet ports on the levers to hold
the hose onto the levers the same thread size for both Magura and
Shimano? I have Magura brakes on the bike and am switching the levers
to Shimano BL-M8000 but the levers don't come with hose nuts. Are the
Magura hose nuts the same thread size? Can't find any info on line.
I'm about to make the conversion on my bike. I have a broken lever on my MT7s. I decided to replace them with Shimano Saint levers that I had in a drawer from another bike. The nut, brake bolt should be shimano. You need to get either a BH90 or BH59 kit depending on the brake model. The pin needs to match your cable. I have a Magura cable so I'm using a Magura pin. Good luck !!
Hey man, have you done the rc2 damper uprade? I did it recently and it’s a day and night improvement
Not yet. I’m probably going to get a charger rc damper, a good price just less adjustment. Thanks for watching!
Hey man ,
Do u think a 125mm dropper will sit all the way into the seat tube ? I like a low seat
Yeah, I think it would.
Upgrade to MTX Pads and u will like the grab even better
sounds like you need to get some magura rotors, which are thicker.
how about MT200 with MT7 caliper :D
Ive read you have to use a magura barb because its a magura line… am I wrong?
Use the Shimano barb/compression nut and olive. I did so and had no issues and so did a viewer. Thanks for watching!
@@Kaedenfu whoch barb, the BH90 or BH59? Most of the info I have read has said to use the magura barb because it is a magura brake line. But you also should use the shimano olive and compression nut because its a shimano lever.
@@SourPatchPuss If you already didn't use the magura barb, the reason is that the inner diameter of magura hose is a bit wider than shimano hose. So what happens is that the shimano olive+barb can't compress the hose enough and it will start leak between outer plastic braid and the inner hose. You will not see the leak but brake feel will be very sponge like. Shimano olive + magura barb all the way.
yo did u ever get the bomber cr situation resolved? thinking of replacing it, but idk if i shld now
Yup, got it all resolved. Fox replied quickly and rebuilt it at no charge. I would definitely recommend getting one, seems I’m the only person to have an issue with it.
@@Kaedenfu oh cool, now it’s just abt getting it while it’s in stock
@@Kaedenfu also did u need to get new mounting hardware or did u glom it off the dps
@@Kaedenfu dps*
@@hawkinsnationallaboratory6463 I got them off the dps. All mounting hardware is the same for rockshox and fox.
If you had used Magura rotors all that squishiness would be gone .
