I'm working on my 1987 Ford F250 and have to pull the transfer case to repair. I really appreciate your thoroughness in the video! I'm the gearhead of the family and I've never worked on transfer cases and your video removed the concerns I had for this project. Thank you again!!
Glad to help! Good luck with your project!
thanks for the reminders again, well done!!
Hello, I had a problem with my transfer case not shifting in 4 low. What do you think it is causing the problem?
Do the 1356s have crush sleeves that need to be set when putting them back together? I'm currently pulling mine to replace the inner seal and resealing it for leakes. Thanks for sharing this video.
No crush sleeves, but if it's coming out it may be a good time to throw a rebuild kit at it anyway. The chains are rated at an average 150k life span...
What snap ring tool did you use at 14.23 ? Thank you for posting

Thanks for asking this question, I just ordered the pliers he put in the link.

I own a 1996 ford bronco. I had to replace the shifting bracket. The previous owner really didn't take of this bronco.I found the bracket cracked and the shifting pin bent. so I replaced the bracket and straightened up the pin and slotted bracket so it would shift right. Now it doesn't shift into 4 low.
It sounds like the linkage may not be adjusted correctly.
Good detail video. Get rid of the unnecessary commercial it takes away from the video.
Thanks for the tip
