- My interview with Matt LeBlanc on the set of "Friends" in 1999. We talked about struggles at the beginning of his career, doing commercials, fan encounters, fame, and his feelings about "Friends" coming to an end. Oh, and the interview was interrupted by Matthew Perry

I saw a more recent interview where Matt said that people who don't know him well tend to ask if he's upset about something, because he's naturally quieter and more reserved than Joey. I never noticed it quite so obviously as in this particular clip. Really highlights how much he changed his energy to play Joey. Joey smiles almost all the time.
I agree, he seems almost muted here.
He seems more grown up and calm here rather than acting silly all the time which must be hard work to do
It’s really sad that people cannot separate the person from their iconic character. It’s called acting for a reason!!

He was already devastated when doing Friends. He said he has no memory of a lot pf seasons cuz he was already facing depression at that time
@@cainagnascimentohe didn't drink because he was depressed. He tried alcohol as a kid and loved the feeling, that's why he drinks. Because everything makes sense while drunk to him.

@@drappointment4509he drank on friends because of the pressure of the show, it was always in front of a live audience and he mentioned that when someone in the audience wouldn’t laugh he would get paranoid and stressed out. So he drank to take the edge off. And the pills started after an accident he was in. He was given a highly addictive pain killer for the pain and then they mixed. He hid it from everyone, addiction can get anyone. I couldn’t tell you when he was high or drunk he hid it very well for television. R.I.P

It's mind-boggling how actors can be so mellow and mono-tone irl - you would think they are just the quiet kid in the corner that stays to themself.. but when they're acting they become a completely different person with explosive energy and at the flip of a switch too. It's just incomprehensible.
Yes, Johnny Carson said he was extremely shy and that's why he always asked people about themselves instinctively because he then didn't have to worry about coming up with something interesting to say. I love his show Man with a Plan. He was a cool dad and terrific husband, brother and son in that role. ❤

They are actors, not their characters in real life. Matt L doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He did an excellent job playing Joey.
Well, it’s a sitcom. It’s like playing more animated and often times chaotic versions of yourself. Of course they seem different off set. In real life, many things that happened on Friends could never happen, or would be a watered down version of it. Much of the series is very unrealistic of how people would react and act.
Generally that's what ACTORS do, they ACT! 🙄

I realise what LeBlanc meant by "he's probably going to be the most devastated." Matthew constantly credited his friends for supporting him during his issues and after the show ended leblanc probably was worried for Matthew's safety. They are great friends always. ❤
And Matthew needed to have always something new happening in his Life. He loved that show so much!
He is very grounded. No over inflated ego, rolls with the punches, genuine guy. I hope he is never sucked in by the fame and enjoys a long successful career. ❤

Did folks not know something was up with Matthew Perry while he was filming Friends? I believe there was some talk when the show was still running, but just look at his weight fluctuations during the seasons. I always thought drugs, maybe alcohol, but something clearly was going on with him.
@@daCubanaqt dude everyone literally has some kind of Struggles. But his struggle was next level. Nobody suspects that kind of kind of trouble normally. As per the weight fluctuations we see that with actors ALL THE TIME! We usually think they probably wanted to get fit or they probably developed an eating disorder n ended up gaining weight but not addiction, atleast not bak in those days. Today it's comparatively common.

Matt has done his share of successful shows after Friends. More successful than Aniston who did a few movies, some unwatchable.
Seeing him here and in other video clips, as well, it is clear that Matt LeBlanc is simply a good person. That says it all.

The weird part about this interview is that Matt says that Matthew will most likely be the one who is most upset/sad, when they will be filming the last episode. But in a more recent interview Matthew told us that when they yelled ‘CUT’ the very last time, everyone was crying and hugging - but Matthew felt nothing. He was empty inside…

Not showing a feeling can mean it is very well buried inside. Matthew went through the exact same as Robin Williams.
Feeling empty inside is actually a survival response because the emotions are too much to handle.

It’s funny when he talks about how people react when they see him in public. I ran into him at a hotel lobby in Burbank and I walked up and asked if he was Matt Leblanc, while pointing at him. He said , “Yes, I am.” I was so shocked, I clapped my hand over my mouth and ran away. What a dork!
