- Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer are taking a walk down memory lane ahead of the new HBO Max special, “Friends: The Reunion.” Access Hollywood’s Kit Hoover caught up with the guys who make up the “Friends” male leads, as they reflect back on their decade long hit show. The men revealed that the cast used to have a daily pre-show huddle that they never missed. “There was only one show we didn’t do a huddle for, and someone got seriously hurt,” David said. When asked if any of them ever tried dating, the threesome all agreed they never crossed that line. “It was really important to the six of us that we kept a friendship,” Matthew Perry said. “Friends: The Reunion” premieres on HBO Max on May 27th.

David was def the best actor among them and most talented, because: he was also the director and actually directed a few of the best and funniest episodes of Friends, his physical comedy was/is pure genius as Ross, he has amazing comedy talent, but the same time, he is very good at drama - just rewatch the scene when Ross is begging Rachel for forgiveness and not to leave him after she found out that he slept with Chloe - David literally acts so amazingly in this scene, so real, the tears are real; Yet David was and is constantly underrated, while Perry, who is so so praised for Chandler, was really great at just sarcastic comedy but never actually that good at more serious acting, drama. David was both. This is why David is def the most talented and the most underrated, it's even more obvious from the perspective of time.

He had quite literally just gone through major dental surgery and this thing couldn't be rescheduled. I'd be more surprised if he wasn't medicated. I spoke like that for 2 days after my wisdom teeth were pulled.
He'd just had major dental work done and what's more he didn't complain about it and everyone assumes the worst. Let him be remembered for the courageous, funny, generous, loving man, that he was. And will continue to be in so many peoples lives. ❤❤

The best part of friends was that the story didn't revolved around a single character and the focus was also not on Just one character, every character had equal impact on the show.

He was definitely vibing with the interview, his responses were adequate and quick, his jokes were on brand with himself and his character, he was just more reserved and also had a dental procedure done that same day which can cause pain and numbness.

Matthew Perry is so much more than his past substance abuse problems. He struggled a lot and he paid the consequences for his actions, but he grew as a person, so while we can't simply ignore his past or pretend it never happened, i find it almost offsensive to always focus on that part of him and not also on his other key factors that shape him, like his sense of humor and how much wisdom he's gained throughout the years. I have to say he's a brilliant guy, full of quick-witted one liners and improv skills. He understands comedy and comedic timing like no other. He wrote and improvised a lot of Chandler's lines on the show and the writers often looked to him if they needed help with a line or a joke. Especially in the earlier seasons, he was great at physical comedy - he used his entire body to paint the picture of him being happy, confused, excited, embarrased, or freaked out, etc., and it heightened the humor. LeBlanc, Lisa, Courtney, Jennifer, and David are exceptional actors, especially David (most of us hate Ross but you can't deny that his comedic timing and use of body comedy were gold) but Chandler will always be my favorite character and I have Matthew Perry to thank. No one could have pulled off Chandler like he did.
I just want to send love to these guys, especially Matt Perry. Chandler is always my favorite, and I’ve enjoyed every other project of his. We all love you and are rooting for you.
Mathew Perry has spoken more in this interview than he did in the entire FRIENDS REUNION. Loved watching him in his natural element with jokes in this one. And I wish him a speedy recovery from whatever he's going through. We want to see more of him and his sense of humour ✌️ Chandler is one of the main reasons I started watching the show❤️

Matthew has been through a lot, I think the three are very close, and both Le Blanc and David (and the girls too) have been very supportive of Matthew's stuggles. I love them all

So was I. It breaks my heart. I really loved Chandler and admire how hard Matthew fought for his sobriety. I don't know if he's off the wagon (seems like it) or if this is some physical malady, but he's definitely not all there.
I was on the edge too. He just wasn't jiving with the other two - he's so out of it. I'm sure he wasn't intoxicated, because they wouldn't have let him do the interview, and I can't believe it could be from whatever drugs, etc. he did in the past, but it seemed he was on some kind of anti-anxiety meds, because he was TOO stoic and reserved. I'm so saddened by this - Chandler was so animated with his facial expressions, and that's one of the things that made him so funny, and that part of him is gone!
I agree...and it’s hard to know exactly WHY he seems a bit “off”, but you can definitely tell that the other two are trying to mesh with him & are struggling. You never know what a person is going through, so I really just hope he’s ok.

I don't know why people so annoyed with Matthew. Yeah, a little bit slower than others. Big deal. He went through hardship. What did people expect him to be. He was in more movies that these two. He is good actor. And probably as person. Not everyone has to be fast speaking, geniuses. Understanding, kindness and patience towards different people won't create discomfort and irritation inside us. Just take them as they are without any expectations and judgement.
I wish the other two male cast members had embraced Matthew Perry more during this interview. You know, included him more. He made must have felt very lonely sitting there.

I'm so glad Matthew Perry redeemed himself after this. He made multiple appearances about a year after this, and he looked normal with his old spark back. It would've been so nice if this could've been made exactly 1 year later. But nevertheless we should be grateful it happened with all 6 castmates.

Please remember that Matthew Perry has been dealing with a lot of health issues for many years. He had a life threatening situation in 2018 and is probably still recovering. He is human like the rest of us and should absolutely not be judged by his health issues. He has made me laugh and cry (as the rest of the cast did) in both good times and bad times over the years. I only wish him happiness and good health. We should all do that. He made an effort to be there despite everything.
