@TSN_Sports you proving my point that the NHL should ban its players from going to the Olympics since the Stanley Cup is worth more than an Olympic Gold medal and that the media evaluates players on Stanley Cups won rather than Olympic Gold medals won.
I really don't think so, I know Dal are heavy favorites but I think Edm is not being given enough of a chance, and if they fall it's more a testament to the team and goaltending Holland gave McDavid. Also, McDavid has time, Stamkos didn't win it till his 12th season, Ovi 13th, Yzerman 14th, do we not view them as legends?

The most important thing for McDavid this series will be to play a complete game. The team can win even if he's held to a point a game pace as long as his line isn't bleeding chances against.
Every series for the cup will be a legacy series until he wins it. Same as the Olympic gold. Until CMD wins it all at the highest levels, he will just be another solid hall o' famer. But not quite on hockey's rushmore, unless he proves he can win the ultimate trophies.
I think it's possible that Edmonton chance at the cup this year is the best it's ever been . They have a great team . Dallas is good though and I look for the other Captain ( Jamie Benn to have a great series)

That’s such a stupid take, of course he’s caring about the Stanley cup right now, because he’s competing for it RIGHT NOW. Yet your expecting him to prioritize a Winter Olympics two years in the future over a more immediate chance at the cup.
