- This is my newest project car. The Arrma Typhon Mega is a 550 brushed motor speed buggy that I plan to upgrade to a 3S brushless system. In this video, we take our first look and run it for the first time right out the box. The Typhon is also available in a 3S, 4S and 6S BLX brushless system. Wow, love it. Looks so awesome. I'm shocked it is brushed. Seems like an odd decision this day and age with brushless motor and ESC combos for less than $50. Can't wait to see it after the upgrades!
Thanks Ryan for stopping by and your feedback. I bought this brushed version, saved a $100 bucks over the brushless version, and I plan to upgrade it with spare parts I have laying around the house. I actually like working on & upgrading them myself and the Arrma vehicles are some of the easiest to maintain cars on the market! POW!!!

They probably didn't want this to compete with the 3S which is the next step up from the Mega.
Right after this first run, I upgraded it to 3S brushless system and installed a DumboRC receiver in it. Needless to say, it rained the next day so I had to delay my first run. 2S and 3S Speed tests coming soon, stay tuned! 💥POW!!! -djsoulforce!

Cool man, I just got one of these for a 4s build🤘 I love the VRX cars too, I have 2 vilance truggys, 4s and 6s and I got the blast as well on 4s. I can find the parts quite easy but im in Australia and I think VRX (river hobbies) may be an Australian brand, don't quote me on that though🤔
Thanks for the info and for watching. I (used to) love the VRX Cobra, but it finally broke. The hassle of finding parts and the cost of shipping made it not worth fixing for me. "She's gone!!!"

straight out of the box i started with a 3s 3500 mah lipo 11.1v ..... i have never used the battery it came with... (i plan on upgrading to brushless, so if she blows, she blows...) they were drone batteries i had left over.... mine pulls wheelies like crazy... i will have to post a vid. and temps remain good. never a heat overprotect shutoff.....
I didn't have the patience to try a Lipo battery. After the first run brushed, with the stock battery, I upgraded it to brushless. That video is also posted on the channel. Thanks for watching and your feedback bro!!!

I put this motor- esc combo in my typhon and it is flying, I would recommend a metal spur gear because I ran through two plastic ones like it was nothing www.amazon.com/Hobby-38010205-3652SL-Sensorless-Brushless/dp/B07581B38R/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=arrma+brushless+motor+and+esc&qid=1602638006&sprefix=arrma+br&sr=8-3#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div motor doesn’t get too hot and fits pretty well inside the body, I’d recommend taping down the power button to the floor of the body just so it’s not bouncing about, you can run this on 3s and 2s lipos and the esc comes with a fan. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

YES, you're right! In this video I explained that I wanted to upgrade it myself since I had enough spare parts laying around the house. I'm going to eventually get the Typhon 6S BLX in the future!!! Thanks for watching!!!

They are $220 on Amazon. That hobby is as expensive as some quads. What would you suggest for a beginner RC at a more reasonable price? Thanks
