Obviously there's a lot more to learn about Thai culture - especially trans culture, and I would love to return to Thailand and make a more comprehensive documentary. But for now, I hope this video serves as a good introduction. If you're not against the idea of learning more about different cultures like this, feel free to support us on Patreon as this makes it possible to continue making videos on different perspectives.

I’d love to know how it is so prelavant is it something to do with all the chemicals that other country’s used on there country .all in more power to them .can’t even imagine what that must be like a boy trapped in a woman’s body .
At 3:36 there's a missing file just FYI
@Black Lesbian Poet disgusting
@@Crosshatch1212 The real question isn't' why it's so prevalent in Thailand but why other countries treat their trans women so badly that they don't come out of the closet. The amount of trans people you see in any given country is a function of the discrimination and hostility they face in that society up to the small percentage (a percent or 2) of people in any given population that are trans. There really aren't that many Thai trans women per capita in Thailand. Given that my wife is a Thai trans woman, rest assured, I know a fair bit about it.
First I’m transphobic for interviewing a Christian, now I’m “off the path” for interviewing a ladyboy (even though Jesus was all about hanging out with “sinners”). Then I get called a druggo for making videos on psychedelics.
This makes me smile because of how predictable people actually are when you go outside their framework. Human nature is always the same. And that is we hate change.
I understand that this last video was a bit left field, but it’s important for me to experiment every once in a while.
This channel has always been about the exploration of the human mind from various perspectives, and becoming better humans.
What is more “psychedelic” than that?
I will also be (hopefully) interviewing a Jewish Rabbi who DESTROYS Christianity. So it’ll be funny seeing people call me homophobic again, or do Jews get a pass because that’s antisemitic? I’m not sure…
I also interviewed an Aghori who meditates on skulls and sacrifice goats and believes everyone is god. Does this make me a satanist? Those who know me knows that i do not agree with polytheism, but I’m grounded enough in my self that I can still interview people I disagree with, and instead find the commonality.
Just because you interview someone, it doesn’t mean you have to agree with their worldview. Most people are so fragile in their psyche, that they cannot genuinely converse with people with different belief systems. And that’s sad.
I think people get triggered because they can’t put me in a box. Mark my words, I will be called transphobic again for some stupid reason, right after being called homosexual from someone else lol. Then I’ll be called a fundamental Christian, then a fundamental Christian will call me a demonic new ager.
I can’t wait to start exploring Islam next :p
Tbh I get a kick out of challenging people, so the response to my last video is hilarious to me - especially because some people get triggered because all they want to see is drug content. Which is hilarious because this isn’t a “drug” channel. This mostly a self-development/spiritual channel disguised as a psychedelic channel.
So for all you druggos, next video I’ll be taking a heroic dose of heroin + crack + nitrous oxide while listening to Terence McKenna for shamanic scientific purposes of course. This will help me reach true enlightenment. I hope this will please you.
I’m just messing around, I love all you guys. Angry comments are good for the CZcams algo anyways.
This world is a wonderful weird place with very strange people and even stranger reactions. We’re alive, we’re here, just breathe and be grateful.
Blows my mind how someone can be all "peace and love man" but then get angry and hateful when they see someone living their own lives in a way we dont like or understand.
i think islam's a beautiful religion!! it teaches REVERENCE which is a spiritual experience & also instills an appreciation of nature . . .
Being trans is not a sin...
Lmao best response Tom 🤣 keep doin you 🙏
Christ told the Samaritan woman at the well that she was wrong, very simple and very straightforward, the Samaritans were schismatics, and he told her, "You don't know what you worship, we know what we worship, for salvation is from the Jews"... now the thing is is that someone who wasn't Christ could make this same statement to her and actually could be "wrong" and a complete sophist. So many people claiming to be Christian(the religion of Love) who obviously don't have Christ within them, have cold and hard hearts, and are transparent in their sophistry. But that doesn't mean that someone can't say to you "Tom you're off the path."... and be dead on. The whole world is "off the path", deluded, in prelest... me, you, everybody reading this. And what a relief to realize this. But who has the courage to see themselves as fools?
Hey as a trans women and psychonaut thank you for posting this. I transitioned at age 15 and I’m almost 23 and it was the best decision I ever made. I have had plastic surgery and I moved from the US to Europe to live with my fiancé. He’s cis and accepts me for who I am and it’s amazing. He and I love hallucinogens so it’s amazing to see someone like you being so respectful to trans culture. It’s easy to offend some of us especially when we’re new to transition because growing up as the wrong gender is traumatizing and when you start to transition you can feel very bad about yourself because you don’t feel like you look like the gender you feel inside. And on top of that a lot of people don’t get it and say horrible things to you. But overtime I’ve become thicker skinned and don’t care.
But seriously thank you for this. It’s refreshing to see. When some people find out I’m trans, they don’t react well. Even some drug users, though I’d say a lot of them are more open. I’ve had a lot of really awful things and stuff happen to me. But where I live now I’m treated much better.
Danke
I love how triggered people get when reality doesn't conform to their own biases, just goes to show how closed minded a lot of psychonauts really are. Great video Tom, major respect for highlighting the diverse & unique cultures out there.
baiting. you just want attention. 🥱
I honestly believe that the left and right paradigms have destroyed man's divine right to just be. The adversary has been hard at work to destroy free agency, free speech and the Liberty to Freedom that should be enjoyed by all.
I love how everyone supports this gay stuff because they’re afraid of getting cancelled but it’s all a bunch of rubbish
Reality isn’t subjective 😂😂🤷♂️😁
Reality is, that’s a man
My wife is a Thai trans women. I've just subscribed because of how respectfully and thoughtfully you conducted this interview. I know you're catching some flak for doing this interview so I just wanted to say there are those that very much appreciate you bringing more understanding to this minority in Thailand. I'm glad the lack of marriage equality was mentioned as a big deal. My wife and I have been waiting over a decade to legally marry in Thailand (we are legally married in the US). LGBT law in Thailand is basically nonexistent and LGBT people are left to twist in the wind as legal strangers to each other. Thai trans women can't change their legal gender as they can in the west and that's a big deal whenever you hand over your ID to someone. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. This is a topic I've spent most of my adult life learning about because of my wife. Cheers.
@Ms puiyi Siew What that has to do with my comment I have no idea, ad bot.
People didn’t seem to mind the weed village in India, which is part of their culture. Your channel has a lot of different types of documentaries and travel blogs. This isn’t any different, and you said you were going to get all different perspectives from around the world. I guess some people are just less grounded than they think. At least they’re commenting to boost the video in the algorithm. Even if it is hate, it inevitably gets pushed to the bottom of the comment section. Great interview Tom!
Exactly thank you! It’s like people think All I do is just take drugs and talk about them, when this channel has ALWAYS been about exploring different perspectives.
@@yourmatetom Thank you for providing perspectives from around the world! I hope to travel around in my lifetime, after I find my place in the world. Until then I'll explore the world vicariously through your travel blogs and docos!
@@yourmatetom This channel has always been about psychedelics
Why the negative comments? This is a short film about the experiences in another country that differ from our own. There is no harm in learning a little guys, diversity won't kill you
Haven’t seen any negative comments here. Why you baiting for attention?
Wrong
Seriously 😳....... Here's a fact, to those like yourself, diversity means less white people, Conservativism and hetrosexuality is homophobia and evil.
Nuff said, Have a nice day

Edit and the Christians commenting this is wrong. Took me only a few seconds to scroll and see them again you oxygen thief
Tell that to the hood lmao diversity doesn't kill you funny
Surprising but welcome diversion from your usual, mate. Appreciate the honest exploration of life for Thai trans people
They are a very beautiful person. People hating here should really solve their internal problems turning them into a hateful person
Rating the content mate, always great seeing new perspectives, cultures and ways of life. Keep it up G :)
Awesome video. Very educational!
Love this content Tom! ❤️❤️❤️
Interesting video Tom. Good to see you make different content. Keep up the good work my man
High quality content! Interesting stuff aswell
I was pleasently surpriced by this video. Good on you Tom for making this. I think it's good to share other perspectives and explore niche or taboo subjects within the sociopolitical system. With the new subject haters will come and old fans reveal their true colors. Its a good way to purge the channel from haters that need a few more lessons before watching.
Cool video dude, kudos for exploring other topics
Right on man. Interesting stuff. I think it's important to hear all sides of all stories. The world is a diverse and fascinating place.
What a great video! The appeal of this channel, to me at least, has always been the exploration of all aspects of humanity and gender is of course one of them. And a fascinating one at that! She seems like a beautiful soul, thank you for sharing her story.
Great video Tom! There's a missing video file at 3:30 and the text at 0:15 is illegible. Regardless, cool video - interesting to hear their perspective and experience! 😁
Nice video dude, keep it up
Dope content mate
Beautiful post 🤍 thanks for helping to bring new cultures, ideas, beliefs, and overall experience to the world!!
Excellent work by my mate Your Mate Tom.
This was a cool perspective to see!
It sucks that some of the comments are as negative as they are, but I'm just glad you're making content that you want to make. It's what makes a video feel authentic, instead of playing to an audience that expects a certain kind of thing. Beautifully shot and edited, and a great / educational watch.
Great video tom
I've seen several interviews now with thai "khatoeys" and I'm amazed by how cool, down to earth, and open these people have been. I'm glad that Thailand seems to be so inviting to that phenomenon, even though there's a lot that needs to be improved. In Sweden where I live, I feel like it's a much more hostile environment.
I'm enjoying this and only seeing positive comments at the top, so I just won't scroll any farther.
Great content mate! I love when you're trying stuff out. Learning things and observing from different perspectives is at the essence of being psychonaut, and it includes stuff like that.
What a wonderful conversation
Thank you so much for posting this Tom! As a trans person myself, it's deeply comforting to hear about this and know that one of my favourite youtubers is open enough to have discussions on the topic of being trans.
It’s great how accepting people are of trans folks in Thailand. So refreshing how to the Thai it’s just everyday life and no one seems to make a big fuss about it. Let everyone live their best life
Accepting until you want to legally marry your Thai trans girlfriend or change her legal gender. Then, not so much. My wife is a Thai trans woman and it’s it’s for these reasons we live in California and not in Thailand.
Thanks for doing this interview. It was great to hear from a Thai trans woman about her gender identity and her life.
I knew i would find you here you never tip me :)
@@Cinederose Post some new interviews on CZcams and I will!
Great video....
Thank you for being so open minded
My sister is a transwoman (biologicaly a boy) and gosh the problems she had to go through and the need to go against all of the iraqy norm and culture of being very subjective against the unique individual :/ she is 29 years old now and after a lot of mental fights, she is now going her unique path and I will always support her ❤️ it's hard being trapped in a body that doesnt feel you and lying to yourself for so long to not "stand out from the crowd".
Body dismorphia
Wow, some of these comments are disturbing. Why do you (haters) become so offended over other peoples experience when it has no impact on your own. Maybe, try to have some empathy for people like this who have no choice but to live their truest self, rather than live their entire life depressed and unfulfilled. What if it was your friend, or family member? Would you wish for them to give up their freedom of expression as a human being to placate your own transphobic ideolgy? Time to take a look inside and find the real answers of where your discomfort lies.
Great video, Tom. Keep up the good work.
Its honestly mind boggling how some people will go on videos like this, just to dislike and plaster the comments with their garbage reurgitated opinions about other peoples lives that don't affect them in the slightest. I've seen legit 10 comments from the same guy basically going "tHaTs A mAn". Like jesus christ what a pathetic existence.
It does impact me, because it impacts my society, thus my community, my family, my people, my culture, my values. If they do it in silence i could not care less. But i dont like seeing this encouraged and spread, because I dont want my people to be weak.
@@vincentgamboa4621 How important do you think yourself and your opinions to be? "Your society, your culture, your people"? Who are you, Adolf Hitler? You can live your life according to your values, but what right do you think you have to apply it to other people? How on earth do you see someone living their life how they see fit as being weak? I honestly don't get this mindset at all.
@@RinKokonoe i want people to live the best life they can. And I dont care how people live their life, as long as it doesnt change the norm. The norm has to be within a few parameters. Or what are we gonna normalize addiction, alcoholism, and other bad behaviours?
@@vincentgamboa4621 You don't get to decide what the norm is, it changes with time.
Be that as it may, acceptance of transgenderism isn't going to magically change the norm, all it does is letting the affected people live a happy life. When gays weren't being persecuted anymore, straight people didn't suddenly choose to be gay. Half the world population will not suddenly turn trans for shits and giggles.
And what the fuck is that comparison to addiction and alcoholism supposed to be? Someone born with a dick wearing a dress and being called she doesn't destroy their body and life by doing so. It doesn't hurt them or you. Wanna know what I think some "bad behaviour" is? Clinging to fossilized roles and worldviews that serve no purpose than to divide and sow conflict.
Hi Tom, Great video. I have been living in Thailand for thirteen years. I find the majority of Transgender/Lady boys Lovely. charming and respectful.

unexpected vid lol.
There is no such thing as "girls toys" or boys toys, i used to play with all kinds of toys as kid , cars , dolls, action figures, toy guns, you name it. , and im striahgt lol
as soon as you tell a kid "this toy is for boys , or girls" that is the problem.. are skirts really for women? dont tell that to a man with a kilt on here in scotland.
what is the difference between a male razor and a female razor? nothing apart from colour and price lol.
why can a little girl not play with a toy car? is toy cars really for boys only? no
are dolls only for girls ? no, i used to play with one and the doll baby was more of a "bro" and i would hang out with it while watching tv.
i dont care if people are trans or not but i think some kids who are turly not trans get influenced into being trans because they were restricted as doing certain things as a kid
@contecamel This is the difficult conversation. Are children really being influenced towards gender dysphoria? On one hand, it seems kinda obvious they are, but on the other, you have people argue they feel safer to be themselves now. There is without a doubt, people genuinely suffering from gender dysphoria, but the sudden spike of transgender people in the last 10 years doesn't seem like the result of social acceptance. At the end of the day idgaf because people can do whatever they want, but it is an interesting conversation.
@@muscleman125 The number of LGBT people you see in a given society is a function of the discrimination they face in that society up to the small percentage that exists in every society. The number of trans women per capita in Thailand is actually quite small. My wife is a Thai trans woman, so this is topic I know quite well.
@@briannapsychonautica8166 I've seen kids turn to murderers because of influence . i agree with your point but even though you say it yourself some people still regret it irrelevant of the low % , why would they regret in the first place? probably because of outer infulence. Yet you are right in saying the majoirty do not regret yet we still need to be careful as children are the easiest to be infulenced into things. ALSO BEING gay does NOT need MEDICAL operations for the whole life and keep taking MANmade hormones and other medcines to stablize the procedures, that have been proven to do damage to the body. now i dont mind if people just dressup etc but people should really think beofre taking MEDICAL procedures that are not really required for "HEALTH", not because im against it but because its litreally dangerous in long term and has hardly been stuided in the medical field and yet pushed by them for profit gains.
Ill treat them as human like everyone else and never more than that. Yes they deserve human rights and love but you gotta pay for your own surgury. Yes insurance should help but tax dollars are getting wasted as is. Its good to practice whatever you believe in but im not gonna put special attention towards it. I wont pretend to understand it but i will still see straight through to your character and heart and treat you based off of that.
Why wouldn’t insurance cover it when it is agreed by every major medical organization that gender affirming care is a life saving treatment for us with gender dysphoria? Would you say that for any other medical care? Why this specifically?
I think this video was a grear idea. Everyone is being so dramatic in the comments.
It's interesting to see someone who's trans speaking their worldview and how it's different than the way the majority of people here view it (I know there's lots of trans people who don't fit into the popular beliefs of the community but don't speak out on it because of fear of being cancelled) plus it's always great to learn about other cultures, worldviews and even misconceptions we may have about them.
If you've got a problem with this stuff I'm afraid you've still got some stuff you need to work out with your ego
The only dramatic ones are overly aggressive pro trans
@@pantsenfuego9986 Both sides are pretty dramatic tbh
No on is exactly stigmatizing it but at the same time we should be allowed to disagree with it being ENCOURAGED. If this was a channel about gender dysphoria i would not even be typing this. But it simply is not and people are kind of fed up with having it shoved down their throats its also not fair to the other side
Fed up with it being shoved down their throats?
Come on.
This is just a phase, later on, our grandchildren will be themselves and not just getting obsess for body modifications like now days

I can agree, being a woman is ATTITUDE! 🤣 JK.
No truer words
Ladyboy is quite a derogatory term, you know that right?
Couldn’t you just have said “trans woman”? Not lady boy?
No matter what I belive in the government shouldn't have a say in anything unless it's harmful to others around them. Do as you please people but don't expect immediate acceptance. It's definitely a trend now a days where I live but these people seem genuine enough. Still off putting to see brainwashed kids not fully developed falling into it especially in the states.
Love the diffrent perspectives this channel brings. Definitely made me feel lucky to live in a country like the U.S.
Not having marriage equality is harmful to LGBT people in Thailand. My trans wife and I are not interested in your or anyone’s acceptance but we do want equality under the law.
@@exnihilo415 As you rightly should
@@VacuousRiffs11 Speaking as someone with a couple decades with a trans spouse living both in the US and Thailand, I can tell you the US is a mixed bag for trans people. There is certainly much more verbal abuse and harassment and overt discrimination against trans people in the US. Thailand is a much more tolerant place to be trans. On the other hand the US has LGBT laws like marriage equality and being able to change your legal gender and Thailand does not. Also, your characterization of “Still off putting to see brainwashed kids falling into it” You’ve got to understand that this isn’t the common case at all. All well adjusted transgender adults like the trans girl in this video were once trans kids and supporting them in their gender identity so they conclude that life is actually worth living is pretty important from my point of view.
@@exnihilo415 Thank you for your input. As somebody who hasn't even left my own country yet I know I have a limited view on things. But the issue of suddenly every other kid in my school suddenly having pronouns out of nowhere especially in the last few years I'd say makes me very skeptical if they are genuine or just following the masses. The ones seeking attention snuff out the ones with actual problems. That's just my experience and I treat them no differently because every one has their own path. I agree completely with Thailand should let you do whatever you want no questions asked. It just seems like nowadays it's one extreme or the other but I do my best not to judge unless they push their agenda onto me. It's just very important for people to think for themselves which seems to be going out of style.

Tom, I have to comment this, I'm sorry if it seems offensive or judgmental. I must tell you, that I subscribed to you for mushroom, drug/psychedelic related anecdotal content. Seeing a video like this in my subscriptions makes your channel seem less focused, and more wide in its possible video topics. It's not worth unsubbing, but it is worth commenting.
I don't want to see your channel die off because you're trying to do too many different types of videos. I've watched CZcams for over a decade, so I feel like my opinion on this could be even more valid. Anyway I hope you find your ideal content and I wish you tons of success, again sorry if I came off too harsh or even entitled but I just must share my opinion. Have a great day man
Business wise I agree this is a diversion, it’s just a once off. I need to experiment sometimes for my own sanity without being tied into one niche.
@@yourmatetom Or you could just not.

You would think a bunch of stoners would be more accepting but alas this is sadly not the world we live in.
