That shot of everyone walking down the steps with their various injuries, followed by an unscathed Roger is priceless 🤣
And Basil looking so happy and relieved 😂
@@A-R-17 Basil trying to laugh in his awkward way as well 🤣🤣🤣
I love the Roger character 😂
@@unclelewis3728I've always said Roger should have had his own spin off show. He was hysterical!!😂😂😂
Roger: Great fun!
The only guest who saw through Basil's antics.
Hillarious how he was basils main antagonist throughout the episode in being wise to his bullshit and yet by the end, he has had a good time and leaves happy as opposed to the other friends who probably never spoke to Basil again 🤣🤣
I just love the sheer chaos when he directs Sybil into the kitchen. Brilliant.
The casual ‘Cheerio dear’ 😂
Every sketch of this series makes me roll in laughter.
Calm under fire. Epic series.
Now cames the triky bit... 😂
Dont hit our friends !!!! Brilliant
I felt bad for Basil, actually. Sybil stormed away in the car before he could explain, and then had to concoct all the stuff here with their friends. I love it when Basil took Sybil into the kitchen after she sees all their friends and says, as he locks her into a cupboard, "I'll explain everything in a moment", leaving her to realise that he did remember their anniversary, that their friends turned up, but she misunderstood him and stormed out in a huff for her pointless golf game, leaving him in the lurch. Having Manuel and Terry fight on the kitchen floor over paella were further clues as to Basil's intentions for their meal that day!
I think my favourite part is that he calls it the tricky bit, but it's actually one of the more easier things to explain. He invited friends over and she left and he had to lie. The one with the girl that he was "crazy" for was way more difficult since he lost his proof
Agreed. The last sentence you’ve written seals the deal for me too. Of course Fawlty Towers never leans into sentimentality but I like how it’s implied here. I’ve always felt this one.
So funny went Manuel was fighting in the Kitchen with the Chef
Hahahaha 👊🏼🤣👊🏼
Am I the only one who sees the chemistry between Sybil and Basil?
shoves her in the cupboard and then says ..”i’ll explain everything in a minute dear!!”…boys try this? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
30 mins of utter chaos😅
this TV series is full of anxiety, stress, madness, stupidity, shock, surprise ..... everything you can think of except calmness.
It was popular ..... it was monty python at least x2 - x3
I'll look after you Sybs😍❤💕
Bit rich of Sybil to be a martyr about the anniversary, given she usually brushes off any affection Basil shows!
Plus she flirts with men openly But is insanely jealous when Basil just talks to women.
That's women for you.
Yeah through a rewatch of the show I’ve seen that Basil is very much more deserving of Sybil than she is of him, the psychiatrist episode especially where she berates him because she thinks he’s flirting with the australian woman, including slapping him in the face and not letting him sleep in his own bed for it despite the fact she does that kind of thing all the time
She was a gold digger. Basil owned the hotel, so Sybil knew that when her husband died she would inherit the property. That was the only reason she married him.
@@munimathbypeterfelton6251 utter rubbish. The cast have said in interviews that the backstory was that Sybil was a bar maid and met Basil when he came drinking in her pub after he'd returned from his national service and they decided to open a hotel TOGETHER. SO take your utterly unfounded mysogyny elsewhere. Basil is quite obviously an total snob who's thinks that he can fake being a member of the aristocracy with no real personality. That's the whole joke as John Cleese has said.
They perfectly captured what's wrong with Englishmen. Rather destroy his marriage than be publicly embarrassed.
Good for him.
Damn straight. Can’t cause a fuss
I like Sybil. She's fine
Bit judgemental
Alright calm down 😂
2:34 Does Manuel say the F word?
Does sound like it 😂
Omg lol I never noticed that before lol 😆😂😅🤣
Fawlty's vault? Are you sure? Shouldn't that be Fawlty's fault? 😁😂
To be honest if Basil just told the truth that he did remember the Anniversary to Sybil he wouldn’t have gotten himself in this mess in this episode in the first place LOL! So yea it should be Fawlty’s fault! :D
@@jwwprod3862 he meant the Channel name.
I've subscribed.Could you upload the whole Mrs Richards sequence, with Basil and Sybil in the office, please? You know, '... is this a piece of your brain?'!Then, there's the brilliant bit of comedy gold where Basil is concussed in a hospital bed. The way Basil talks to the nurse is wickedly funny, and so delightfully rude! Many thanks.:)
My apologies.
I've just noticed that you've uploaded the Mrs Richards office scene already.
Much as I feel sorry for Basil, I can Symphonize with Sybil about what she might have had during those fifteen years she felt she wasted with Basil.
She was lucky to have Basil, he did all the bloody work there! She just refurbished herself for 15 years
@@version736ha2 What do you mean when you say refurbished herself ?
@@felixcuthbert2719 watch the show
@@version736ha2 I do.

Hmmm,so how was the 1st 15 years?were they running a hotel then or wat?questions to b answered!should b a movie done ,how they met,started etc!thats my 2 cents!any replies!
So we finally saw Audrey

Dreadful woman
2.34 Now I'm pretty sure Manuel's speaking Spanish here, and I don't speak it myself, but it almost sounds like he's saying...well, a word that might get him in trouble with the BBC censors.
Stay positive with Sherpa 😇♥️😀💖👏👏🇬🇧🧡👻😤😤🤡😓👻🧡

She was great in this. She was also in one of the scaryest episodes of tales of the unexpected a couple of years after this .....flypaper.

I love Fawlty Towers but this episode just doesn't work.
It was the 11th episode, so the series only had one more episode before it ended. The series finale was Basil The Rat, so it definitely ended on a strong note lol.
It's not one of the best but it's much better than A Touch of Class or The Wedding Party.
Why doesn't it work?
Ehm… it works for me. Especially the part about the dentist paying a visit. I realise that the plot is perhaps not very realistic, but that holds for the plots of the other episodes as well.
This episode is great. It has many moment what worth it. And Roger is awesome.
I think this was the weakest of all the Fawlty Towers episodes.
Alot of people feel that way. Ironically is my fav !! tho I love them all. John cheeses also feels its one of the best episodes too.
Ahh definitely one of the best abd most memorable.
I get it now!!! Brilliant!!! Fawlty is Trump!!
The 'Russians' have been tampering with your brain.
What are you drooling about?
No, the Trumps weren't really known about in England in 1979. And Fawlty is as English as they come.
The medication's working overtime, Bruce.
I was going to say the Usurper In Chief Joe Biden is the major. But then I remembered that the major has class, charm, a brain...and a legal claim to his title.
