Yes, it is an interesting kit
@@MarKoCustomBuildModels 👍🙂
Wow thats a kool car nice unboxing 👌 keep them coming
yes I will. happy you enjoy them.
Hi Roy I've just now subscribed to your channel and I really like what you have been doing over the past few years that your channel has been up. I especially liked the videos on the amphicar 770. What a great little scratchbuilding project. I also like to scratchbuild and kitbash things. Great channel Thanks for sharing.
welcome! you’ve got a lot of great stuff yourself. when I get the plans back for the amphicar I’ll continue it.
Cool kit! Thanks for the video 😎👍
you’re welcome.
Nice review Roy, that engine would look great in a diorama, 😎👍👍
Yes, or building a mid rear engine car or truck, thanks for stopping by!
Like the unboxing save me sometime on opening mine till I'm ready to build.
yeah. at least until then. =)
Nice work unboxing the model sir yes it is Oldsmobile Toronado this model was done in 7 2 never reissued until now keep warm up there
William. trying hard to keep warm. though it is warming up slowly. thanks for the confirmation
Nice unboxing Roy
Thanks Shaun.
Thanks for the review. I've been wondering.
happy to help you =)
Nice, I’ll have to pick one up just for the Unitized Powertrain Package, the seats, and maybe the wheels. (I’m building a full detail GMC Motorhome from an old Hess training van, so I’ve got a ton of kitbashing and scratchbuilding ahead of me)
Would love to see what you do to this one. I think this was based on the Oldsmobile toranado
Yes, you're correct it is based on the Oldsmobile Toronado, thanks for watching =)
Funny. I had that same promo with no rear bumper.
Actually with some modification I bet this kit would make for a very cool superfly esc build! Thatd be different
well now you have me thinking….
That would indeed have been Jo-Han tooling originally as the factory stock Toronado and sold in an AMT box for a year or so. Pity AMT replaced the working steering with a metal axle. I’d like to have seen the wheels and tyres mocked up on the promo to see how well they fit and whether that rear bumper would also work for a stock build. Looks like you’ll still need to source a front bumper though?
Have to say that Californian is really not an attractive car, I’d bet they’d sell a ton more if they’d returned it to stock.
Do you buy your model cars in a hobby shop? Or do you order them off Amazon? Do you mind me asking how much a model car typically costs? I have no idea - and that is why I am asking. Do you keep all the cars that you build? How many of these do you think you have built through the years? Ruthie 2/10/23
I buy them from a local hobby shop or a flea market booth. I tend to keep the cars I build, probably I have built about 100 or more completely. models can range from $25-$75 Canadian. hope it helps Ruthie.
Well I thought Riviera when you mentioned it. yes that's what it looks like to me is a Riviera.
It's got some Riviera flair also. The car is based on the late 60s Oldsmobile Toronado, thanks for watching =)
