In this video I'm showing you how I built an outdoor shower. Having a shower outdoors in the hot Texas summers feel amazing. In this video, I cover building the structure. Stay tuned as next week, I'll cover how to plumb the shower with water lines from the house.

The color combination is STUNNING April!!!
What a great way to use your remaining Trex deck boards! They are perfect for this application and continue your outdoor design theme. Smart!
April, you ROCK thank you for simple easy to follow directions to help spur my own original ideas and designs. You’re a welcome inspiration for us men who think it’s only a man’s world when it’s actually a shared world of creative human beings like yourself that inspires. Keep Inspiring!
Great work April! That will be a joy to use and keep the house much cleaner!
Your straight forward explanation of how to build an outdoor shower made it a definitely doable project. An absolutely well organized step by step easy to follow plan from start to finish.
My goal is to start building this outdoor shower with help from friends next week. TY
This is amazing and encouraging. This would be perfect for a tiny house outdoor shower to save moisture from building inside the tiny house.
Thank you for sharing.
Yep, I LOVE THIS!! This was so super simple to watch and realize! I love the scheme as well! Really sharp April!!
APRIL! Girl, this is amazing. I’ve been in love with outdoor showers ever since I took one at a little hot springs resort in New Mexico years ago. Time to bring that vibe to my home in the PNW and enjoy an outdoor shower for a couple months out of the year. Really appreciate this build.
: ) Glad you like it so much. Enjoy building one!
Hi what was the name of the hot springs resort you visited?
Looks great. Can't wait for part 2. Take care and have a blessed week and I'll see you on your next vidja.
Amazing
built mine 3 months ago. Love it use it everyday. I went the spigot method for both hot and cold so I can also use the spigots for other things.
Love it!
I use my Outdoor Shower Daily!
We built it for rinsing off after you went in the Pool!
Now I like it as I don’t have to wipe down anything to prevent water-spots/scale andI know, I’m weird!
April... this is such a cool idea! I enjoyed watching this build and learned something... that jig for equal spacing is LEGIT!!!
Looks great April, looking forward to seeing it finished. Thanks for sharing with us, Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
I love this project! Looks beautiful.
Nailed it April! This turned out awesome, checking out Part 2 now!
Gorgeous design and build, April! It looks amazing!
Hey April, you have inspired me. I started painting, got my first skill saw, drill and nail gun. I'm adding baseboard around my home and painting. I know I will make a lot of mistakes along the way, but I'm having fun and my home is looking pretty good. Thanks for always posting awesome content.
That is so great to hear! Have a blast
Just the inspiration I needed: Have had a recurring request for an outdoor shower. I just bought your plans too will save some ciphering on my part. Thanks for the vid.
Love the amber tint.
Another great project! I really like the way your mind thinks in projects like this.
Keep the great videos coming
Thanks for sharing and God bless
Love the outdoor shower.. the board under board was the way my dad designed the fence in our yard when we were just kids.....Sweet memories
Yes good
This looks incredible. I live in Northern Ontario Canada at a lake so summer outdoor showers will be a must. Going to build it this summer. Thanks for sharing
Great project so far, I built one in my back yard a few months ago and it seems I did it the hard way as usual, Thanks April.
: ) Meh, live and learn. I've done many things the hard way but it taught me an easier way.
Because of your skill in diy you are my star.
Aw, thanks! And thanks for watching.
Thanks for the inspiration. I'll be putting mine where the water will drain directly onto a maple tree's roots. Just can't get enough water to our trees here in New Mexico, so this will be helpful for it and for me. Sometimes it's nice to just wet yourself down fully clothed to keep working in the heat...everything dries in minutes.
Smart!
Phenomenal! We’ve always day dreamt of an outdoor shower… and we’ve finally found ourselves on a large piece of land, and reno’ing a travel trailer as we begin designing our forever home. The travel trailers bathroom is less than desirable, and we thought… why not rip out the shower, and finally make our outdoor one? This turned out absolutely beautiful and so inspiring. Ty for your time!
Awesome! Sounds fabulous. Glad you found the video useful. Thank you for sharing and for watching.
I absolutely love that sprayer. I bought it to paint my in-law's house a few years ago and have found so many other projects to use it on
Yes, I use it and love it every time! Thanks for watching.
Awesome job as usual, your videos show how simple DIY can be. Keep them coming.
great job April looking good
Thank you April for your videos.bye
I like the color combo.
When I was a kid we had an outdoor shower on the farm, thou not as private or as nice as yours. Back then I think my folks called it a garden hose and stock tank. lol.
Living off-grid the outdoor shower/restroom was one of the 1st things I built. It's funny that I went with the same color scheme as you did and that was 5 years ago. The Cedar and pressure treated woods are aging nicely too. I left one side partially open (I have no neighbors) to have a perfect view of the surroundings and the animals. It's like watching "Wild Kingdom" while using the structure. I just love it. Another great build April 😘!!!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing and for watching.
Going to have to build one for next summer at our pool, so this is very timely. And, as always, you go above and beyond. Great job, and the pinnacle of professional treatment of materials, tools, and safety!
Thank you!
Beautiful!!! I love the colors chosen.
You are awesome April!
Really like this shower April. Great job!
Another winner!
Thank you.
April, I love your work...
other then treating the timber before construction , this is full of great practical advice / ideas
When you watch the video from five years ago only to see this video...so fulfilling! The updated design is a lot more refined as well.
It certainly is but my Mom still loves hers and wouldn't change a thing! Thanks for watching.
I have similar at my barn. But I used a on-demand water heater that ignites on D-cell batteries and runs on 20lb propane bottle. All you need is a hose bib and hose to connect. The heater unit and propane bottle is mounted on a HF set of trucks which I pull out from under roof and connect in minutes. Works perfect and removes the plumbing issues. If I ever want to move the shower, I don't have plumbing issues to deal with. It surprised me how little the water heater cost that supplies plenty of hot water....even in those fall days when I am dirty and don't want to go home that way.
Tony ... I have one of those propane heaters and with all the misc fittings I think I'm into it for a bit over $200. I used a spring loaded "flush valve" for the water feed and the handle goes to a rope tied to a small piece of plywood. The idea is you step on the wooden pedal to start / stop the water. The rope has a spring connected so you don't over-crank the valve handle. I figured (roughly) I can get about 600 showers at 3 minutes each on a BBQ tank.
About 45 years ago I camped at a state park, where the showers had no roofs. It was the oddest feeling, looking up and seeing the trees, while soaping up.
Great design looking very nice. Thanks 😊🙏
april YOU ROCK nice job
Well planed and executed and it looks Awesome April...👍
Beautiful outdoor shower! Also, Kate and I have toyed with the idea of a garden. We will look at your raised garden video to see it it's something that we'd like to do. Keep rockin' it, April! And happy new year!!

FANTASTIC BUILD!!! You are super talented and definitely a motivator! I agree with You on the color combination. I’m going to rebuild my deck and might do a similar look. Thank You for Your hard work and inspiration!!!
Awesome Shower Build April! This is new to me, since we don't have outdoor showers in Michigan. However, since you can drain the waterlines I believe this could also be built in a cold freezing climate too.
I'm in Michigan and I do....
@@Stillnapie Well That's Cool!
Nicely done.👍
April, All the years I have followed you this is the first time I have seen make the drastic mistake, IT IS NOT IN MY YARD, GOOD WORK
