Love the entire trilogy, but I think that I agree with you about this being the fave.
It swings from perfectly campy to "holy crap I didn't think they'd do that!" I was pleasantly surprised by the trilogy.

Yeah, 1978 was easily the best of the trilogy and not even close, imo. The casting, writing, and acting was great. And this actually look and felt like the 1970s. Better job of paying homage to 70s/80s slasher films than a lot of big screen films.
It's cool that they figured out the plot twist, but also kind of disappointing because I love seeing the shock on people's faces when they realize!

Truthfully I think that was meant to be a plot twist so good on you for catching it but it was definitely done intentionally with her going by C. Berman as an adult but constantly being referred to as Ziggy as a kid while her sister Cindy was always referred to by her actual name. The only reason I even considered the truth was because of the hair colors
They showed Ziggy in the end of the first movie getting stabbed thus the implication of C. Berman being Cindy. However I expected the twist to come but still hoped Cindy is C.Berman cause she looks so nice.
Ziggy being C. Burman is intended to be a twist. Her sister, Cindy, appears on screen first and has major final girl vibes throughout the movie (though she learns too much to be allowed to live). Plus, Cindy Burman obviously has the first initial "c" whereas Ziggy wouldn't. How exactly she told the story without giving that away to the other characters boggles the mind; she must have disassociated and told it in third person.
I heard they filmed this one last so they got very comfortable with going all out on the brutality of it. Also the campers looking at Tommy with such concern when he’d show up is heartbreaking considering he was just gonna murder them without hesitation.

It was. The filming order was 1994, then they filmed 1666 (where the 1994 cast and the 1978 cast merged together), and then they filmed 1978
4:30 it's "hung" for objects but "hanged" is specifically used when talking about someone being killed.
Yes, somebody being hung means something very different.
Yea it was supposed to be a plot twist 😂, from the start we knew only 1 of 2 sisters survived and her name was C Berman. The sisters were named Ziggy and Cindy, making you think cindy was the survivor
Yeah I always thought it was Ziggy too, but I wonder now if it was my bias to seeing Sadie and going "Oh yeah of course she's gonna be the one to make it, she's Sadie Sink".

Yeah Cindy is introduced first and is the one trying to solve the mystery, and adult Ziggy's hair isn't the same red anymore. Makes sense that people would think Cindy survived.
Yeah, Ziggy's real name was, "Christine Berman".
Sadie Sink, Emily Rudd and Ryan Simpkins were so amazing on Fear Street: 1978.
It is very intentional for us to feel Scream vibes from the first movie and Friday the 13th for this one.

Yes, it was supposed to be a plot twist because it was implied that her sister died and we see Ziggy get stabbed in the 1978 teaser at the end of the first movie.

@@marchvolt488 She literally goes "the first day of camp, a week later my sister was deas" so ofc it shows her sister. Plus, C. Berman's hair color is literally Cindy's hair color.

They said that some of the scenes have then Friday the 13th vibes and fun fact the summer camp they filmed the movie at was actually across the lake from where they filmed the original Friday!

It's fine they wanted to do the "Ziggy was the real C Berman not Cindy 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮" bullshit but the thing that pisses me off is Josh going "wait, you're Ziggy?" As if we're supposed to believe that Ziggy didn't tell the story in first person? Like surely the whole story she'd have been like "then my sister, Cindy, blah blah blah blah" you know what I mean? Even if we're supposed to be shocked, he shouldn't be.

@@sleepcrimeit makes more sense for her to do that because shes a victim of a horrific crime and died and came back to life it’s normal for survivors to talk about their experiences in the third person to create a distance from the situation and helps alot of victims talk about their trauma its easier to tell someone else’s story than your own

I loved these movies so much. I cannot wait for the next movies they plan on making. There was this series RL Stine did called the Cheerleader saga, it was brutal. I hope they do that next. They were killing everybody. Boiling bitches in showers, drowning others underneath ice, etc. So good. As always, fun watching y'alls reaction and looking forward to 1666.
When I heard they were finally making Fear Street movies, my mind immediately pulled those titles up^.^ I was a little sad when I saw they were going a more paranormal route for these movies (cause my favorite Fear Street books were the more straight up murder mysteries), but I was pleasantly surprised by the final product~~~
This one is defo the best but the trilogy is so good as a package. The 3rd film really lets their acting talent come out and wraps it all up so good.

This is the main place I knew her from when they announced she would be Nami. I loved her in this role so I was excited about her casting.

This one is my favorite because of the camp setting. Obviously, it's very reminiscent of Friday the 13th but it also reminds me of Sleepaway Camp in the best way. 💚

spoiler alert: Did anyone else notice that the song tht plays as Ziggy is brought back has duel meanings with her nickname being Ziggy as in ziggy stardust and its David Bowies "the man who sold the world" and it being nick who made the deal that got everyone killed by making the deal as in he was the one who "sold the world"

i think the biggest difference in finding out crap is that some of us (including me) watched these movies as they came out. so i was excited for them and watched 1994 or whatever year it was and then i had to wait for the next one to come out, so you don't remember EVERYTHING that happened in the first, that's why the twist was so shocking for the ones who had to wait. then we had to wait for the 3rd to come out. So if you watch them all back to back it's probably easier to guess what will happen

This trilogy honestly blew me away when I watched it! 🫶 watched them all in one sitting and I was both shook and hyped 😂 they definitely deserve a rewatch sometime very, very soon!

I like how each of the movies is modelled after different styles of horror movie. This one is my favourite of the three. I had to come watch it again after the third one because it’s somehow even sadder with context.
