- Car season and drift season is here, it's time to get my 300zx z32 project car ready! Subframe bushings are always a fun task, I had no idea the Z32 bushings would differ from the S13 240sx. Mr. Smokes comes by and fabs up an intake tub, creating significantly better air flow to the ka24de engine.

Update: Mike got a little carried away with the heat gun and Smokes is now known as Flames.
😅😭
😂😂😂💀
😂😂😂
👹👻👾
dont apologize for keeping us up to date on some teaching moments like your power steering problem. taught me more of what goes on in the engine bay than i originally knew, and now i can safely say im able to diagnose my own car without too much overthinking if any problems come up. also, glad you figured it out.
couldn't have said it better.
Can't wait to see 300zx painted factory green. It would look awesome
The original greeen is really good looking! I Dig it
It really would look nice
I'm gonna be so stoked the day Mike gets his own shop. The potential progress is gonna be wild!
will you let mike sit on your face unshaved?
Him laying down in the yard after slaving away at that subframe as so real for me 😂
maybe while you're waiting for those big upgrade/long term project items to show up it could be time for some bushing and fitting replacements on all the cars? could dive into the bays and replace any hoses that are beginning to rot as well
Not a bad idea! Really trying to build this subframe!
@@PrizzaMikewhat color u thinkin of powder coating?
Jdm gods were shining down on Mike today ain't never seen a bushing come out that easy in my whole life 😂
It’s become a habit to watch mikes videos as soon as I wake up Saturday morning after a long work week nothing feels better than chilling and hitting the stoggie
lmao you nailed the relief cuts on that second subframe bushing. Never seen anyone get that lucky before.
He’s got skills. The boy can weld 👌
bro welded the 240sx 🥵
@@rceps4999 pretty sure he was referring to Smokes, welding aluminium (especially thin one) is a whole different process, and aluminium castings like the throttle body are full of junk and even worse, lots a professionals refuse to work on them especially when they've been contaminated with oil.
I didn't know all that and lucked out when I had to weld a side mirror's support with a mig/mag, though. It's been a few years now and still holding.
@@pbe6965 ah alr
Just confirming how stoked I am to get my rear subframe out and do all the bushings as well 🤩
imagine powder coating the subframe the same exact green color of your Z
Things that great friends do together.
Our friend group was also like this in our 20's. But everything changed after everyone merried and had kids. All off us also moved to different states...
pro tip, a ball joint press will make quick work of those. Definitely solid for the subframes, poly for everything else. seriously hope you ka-t it, a vband artec & g30 setup would make stupid amounts of power with basically no lag.
The plug is probably for the speed sensitive control. With it unplugged it’s likely making it closer to manual steering feel for ‘at speed’.
The green, red and black on the 300zx gives me Need for Speed Prostreet 240SX vibes, just needs a yellow door and sponsor decals to seal the deal
Someone get this man a press!
The z getting some love. Smokes nice job on the pipes sir. Bro can lay some beads. Can't wait tonsee what right hand he buys. Lol. Have a great day. Thanks Mike
IMO 😊he should buy himself a right hand drive utility truck since he's such a good welder he could promote his business with it
@@twoeightythreez I think Mike needs a truck as well.
Iv learned to a wheel bearing press to remove bushings. Works like a charm. The screw kind btw.
i just cant get enough of these vids, every time i see a new prizza video i always stop everything im doing to watch it
😂 the lay down moment.
We have all been there!!
Poly bushings are the way to go do it once not twice.
Fresh batch of Watermelon x Skittle's + PrizzaMike video when waking up; this saturday can't even get better!
Definitely my favorite youtuber as we speak, everytime you upload it makes me so excited for the watch 😂
finally more power to the KA
2 of the subframe bushings in my g35 came out exactly like that, popped out while using a sawzall to cut the metal rings. way easier than when I did my 240!
Please, before you put in that nice new subframe, get the 4.08 final drive differential to match the KA (4.08 is what came with 240's)
You currently have a 3.69 final drive because your car was originally automatic.
Well, I don't know how if I'd ever feel right dropping a KA24 into a 300zx.. but there is certainly a lot more room to work with in there. I had a 94 300zxtt and it was a nightmare to do anything under the hood.
Sweet, I get watch my favourite youtuber before I go to bed 👍 ( it's 10:32 pm in the UK )
I do basically what you do on bushings with sime slightly different steps. I drill a bunch of holes in the rubber and mostly cut through the race in 1 or 2 places, then with a punch I hammer the race into itself to get it away from the subframe. I simultaneously drive it out.
T.y for being my teacher you are very very smart .I love the way you explain step by step everything you do on your cars
FYI, Z32's power steering systems pressure is based off the speed sensor from the dash cluster. Low speed, high assist, high speed, less assist. Keep that in mind if you decide to remove the dash cluster and replace it with an aftermarket Haltech like cluster. You will need to "send" or recreate that speed sensor signal to your power steering.
That's what I thought as well, thanks for confirming.
I've heard there's a similar assist on the windshield wipers of the s13, the arms are supposed to press more when the car speeds up to avoid being lifted by the wind, at least there's definitely wires going into in the driver's side arm so it might be true.
There's a tiny spoiler on the s14's one instead, so maybe it wasn't that effective, or too expensive.
Good info!
friendly tip regarding IAT's, its best to place them on the charge pipe coming off the intercooler, out of the engine bay. IAT's get heat soaked, and if you get tuned on a MAP, it uses speed density, and that will calculate the fuel based on IAT and MAP. I ran into this issue with my VH45 in my s13 (Link ecu). I had the IAT right next to the throttle body, and it messes your tune up.
Great tip, thank you for this info
I replaced suspension bushings all the way round my Jag Super v8, what a hassle, and I basically have every tool available at my disposal. The struggle is real.
Really loving your content Mike(used to be a car guy). I do the same for drone stuff these days. Each time i encounter an issue, I share the fix on youtube. I look forward to watching ur uploads each time! haha
I'm jealous of power steering now that I own an 86 Honda civic hatchback lol 😅 Best part of waking up is Prizza on CZcams. 😂
Bro i was checking if you uploaded and got sad that you didnt, but in a few minutes i got your notis and i felt good then
On those subframe bushings I’ve found using an air hammer and the splitter bit is the easiest way to punch out the outer race (it opens them up like a tuna can) Friendly advice from a Nissan tech
If I remember correctly you can use a ball joint c-clamp press you can rent at O'Reilly's or advance
Dude you’re so lucky!!!!!! I drilled it all out then jig saw around an once all the rubbers out I did a pie cut into it and tapped it all out with a large socket an a sledgehammer and put the bushings into the freezer over night and pressed them in with a kit from O’Reillys an soapy water and worked like a charm… 🤷🏻♂️ yes it took forever and ever 😂 like a full day best is not to do this on your daily like I did!!! I was stressing!!! Started 8am was done with it all midnight bc blades kept breaking a buddy didn’t have the tools he said… so I bought it all a the jacks 😂 towns away!!! Never again trust a buddy unless they have photo proof!!!
When I did my subframe bushings I did 2 cuts right next to each other the width of my chisel, two or three good hits to curl that metal up and it falls right out
mike, you've inspired me to get a z32 all because of this series. thank you so much
You sir are an inspiration. Always been a car guy, but with life it’s hard to stay motivated. Your videos help.. big time.
aw hell yeah bedtime mike video just dropped lets go
I made huge g-clamps and then just use that as a make shift press. In the meantime I built a 20ton press from scrap metal - dude you got the skills to build one and it's super easy. Don't struggle with stuff like this too much - keeps you from doing other things.
Never knew the early model integras had a different beep sound that’s soo cool mines a ‘98 so mine is kinda annoying 😂
Use an air hammer with a chisel bit on it for those bushings. Struggled as well to get mine out and the air hammer went through them like nothing
I have poly bushings in my car all the way around ride nice and feels tight on the round stiff comfy to daily though probably perfect for your 300
Gonna be honest been watching on and off for awhile now and i thought youre channel was pizzamike i just now saw the R😂😂😂
Classy as always mike !!!
@prizzamike you and ur buddy shoukd bring them rides down to the Blanchardville car show july 14th great time good people!
Maybe it might have been an option for high performance twin turbo. Some later model sports cars has an option to stiffen steering at higher speeds
Good to know about the power steering!! I’ll have to double check mine. I find the power steering not up to par that I though it would be
poly for the z32 is the way to go. not tooo stuiff, but not soft as the oem jelly filled either. thay are perfect in poly
19:10 lmao illinois be cold at 30 degrees while it be 37 celsuis where I'm at
Sweet action PizzaMike my friend and brotha I would rather watch your CZcams videos then anybody else
Love the content bro🙏🏼
its no longer a heat gun, now its a "heat-a-homie"
that teg might be beat up, but its still super cool! also good on you for not selling ur first car!
@16:19 I spot that bag of wiley wallaby 👌
Love your videos dude your personality is super inspiring
Wow that's so cool and beautiful Job I love the way he well ring very awesome job
I have a 1990 nissan sunny b13….it’s a lot of components to the power steering system
And another one! Keep it up Mike everything’s looking great
My prelude has that tinker bell sounding ring for the lights too lol ob2 96
My favorite car youtuberp
Hey Mike, long time watcher first time poster. My Son is 20 and watches you all the time. You seem like a genuine person. The way you interact with your Subs is Amazing. I have a Tomo Sprint Moped. It's been sitting 5 years. I brought it in the garage last week to clean the Carb and Tank. When I get it running, if you want it to cruise around on when you are at the track or a show, I'll give it to you. I live in New Brunswick Canada. I can send it to you free... well maybe when it gets to you I'd like a Hoodie. I am not sure the costs. Let me know. I will send it out to you and then you can pay the shipping. You are good person and I would only give it to you. I will check back here in a few days see if you respond and a contact e mail.
@21:08, you can adjust when your clutch grabs, by lengthening ot shortening the push rod off the back of the clutch pedal. the longer the rod, the shorter the throw, the shorter the rod, the longer the the throw.
if you lengthen your clutch rod itll catch lower to the floor.
Love you mike
ive used an air hammer before to bend/knock out those bushing races, worked pretty decent
Insert his what now!!!!😂😂😂😂
You should powder coat that subframe red
Brooo, ur Videos r insane! I just watch all of ur videos! In my free time i watch ur videos every time again! But u need to upload Daily or maybe every 2 days😅
Can’t can wait for a new video😅
I understand limited space but a press is worthwhile tool to have for doing bushings. Dude could probably make his own since it's just a bottle jack and some metal.
mike, i been using this same method with honda trailing arm bushings for 10 years loll
Pretty much the life with project cars. Same situation here juggling between two 1990 Nissan Sentras (I have both a wagon and a sedan), and you just can't decide on what to deal with first lol
Mom dad wake up Mike posted
Love ya Mike ❤
The intregra looks superb
I think you should definitely go poly bushings
Mike you’re great at what you do love the vids. But at least put some black rustoleum on those 300 shock towers bro that’s a lot of work just to be rusting away and you’ve been in that bay multiple times since the conversion 😂😂
love the content man keep it up was thinking of getting an mr2 as my first car lmk what you think, love the builds man🤙
tip frome a mechanic (fere bushings get a hidraulic pres or a divice made fore the job)
better luck then me, I stripped the thread out of the Idle Cam Gear bolt hole in the head and its got to go the machine shop for repairs.
Got an aluminum Diablo blade for my miter saw awhile back, not used it yet but peeps say they work good.
Dude, sorry, but i just recognized that you looks like "Дерижабль ага" video guy.😂😂😂 twins
I live like 6 blocks away from you in another subdivision and I just burned mine out... I did it in the backyard under my raised deck though so most of my neighbors couldn't really see me back there to be all nosey!
Hey Mike! Have you ever heard the music artists vacations, I really like their music and it fits your style so I just wanted to recommend them to you.
Power steering update (deep voice) no leaks
I actually have had subframe bushings come out like that on an e46
Try to full body wrap one of your cars 🔥🔥🔥
I'd sell smokes my rhd ek coupe shell. The only thing is I'm in Athens, GA. But at least it's 100% rust free here in the south.
Idk about 300zx, but 350z bushings for the diff are fluid filled, and subframe bushings are hollow
hey mike just needed a door😅
you all need a shop fast wtf i want to see you in working
You should get smokes more involved you to work well together
7:20 air hammer woulda made easy work of that
you can get a u joint press for free from o riley’s makes it sooo much easier
$5 someone swap in that beat up pipe n returned it. I once bought what was suppose to be thicker wall chromoly pushrods and someone put in stock steel pushrods, well least they were new LOL
poly is better cause i think since the subframe is basically apart of your suspension, it will need to be able to move a little bit
