Typical Tory answer from an ideologue that's, to quote an often-used expression, "all fur coat and no knickers".
-
He answers a question by pointing out how important it is to answer questions and then completely ignores the question leaving the question completely unaddressed. So so pathetic
Indeed. Why stand up in front of business leaders and not be prepared address their issues. Brexit a complete fiasco. But Rishi unaware.
Typical from a politician most of them or nearly all of them Labour and Tory are so out of touch with reality and with people
@ Mike Baker sadly I think Rishi does know.. but chooses not to acknowledge though. Brexit benefits the wealthy doesn’t it?
@@mikebaker3152 I don’t suppose any of them are unaware, but the pretence must be kept up, and the big lies must be repeated over and over. These bustards made billions out of our misery and poverty.
Exactly, plus they DON'T listen to sensible comments either.
Wow. He managed to spend 3 and a half minutes answering that question, without saying anything at all
Politicians talk lol
It's called 'waffle'. If you are backed into a corner, you verbally dance around a bit to fill the time. Then, you come out with a phrase like "well, we've got to move on now ....".
As usual. Nor fit for purpose!
They spend a lot of time being coached to do exactly that...
@@JHatLpool with Sunak, how would you tell the difference between waffle and a real answer?
Rishi gives a master class in how you can talk for 3 minutes and not say a single remotely consequential thing. He's the kid in class giving the book report on a book he never read. "You see The Lord of the Flies is about a Lord and he has some flies..." He's the emptiest of suits.
It's the human version of the robotic "Your call is important to us..."
Omg I just got a flashback to around 45 years ago, and I had to do a book report in front of the class and had read maybe the first chapter. It went really well, but at the break a girl in my class came up and said she had read the book. I confessed, swore her to secrecy, and she burst out laughing...
That's an investment banking thing 😂
He is a big Cantinflas fan 😄 (inside joke for us Mexicans)
Brexit was good to keeping Tories doing in more private ways their's own business internationals transacciones. Not much outsiders interferes or testimonials. So after all ; wasn't for first the citizens.
I’ve never been so convinced of Sunak’s incompetence as I am after watching him flounder on stage for 3 minutes after the delivery of that question.
“I can’t tell you why we chose to hamstring our own economy, but we’re here today to give you the impression that we give a toss what you think”
Well, to be fair, there is no answer to this question from a business point of view… Brexit was always going to be disastrous from a business angle… and that’s just how it is. Hard to see how Sunak could do anything other than flounder and waffle😢
@@stuartr2764 yes there is, you could have a robust small business plan or way to drive domestic produce with lower tax etc
@@stuartr2764 He could've said any one of a number of things - one being "I don't have an answer for that right now." Brexit was always going to be a disaster from every possible angle, unfortunately, but avoiding it doesn't help him or anyone else.

@@murphy7801 What small business plan? What do you mean? Like shift away from finance and banking to manufacturing on small scale?
Cringeworthy response. I am sure the questioner was not impressed with the BS.

A well phrased and crucial question by a seasoned businessman summarily batted away by a slimy jumped up schoolboy.
But a schoolboy who went to a "better" school than all of us, which means we have to suck it up. It's the UK way.

How utterly ridiculous.Did you listen to the Q&A in this clip at all and understand what the Burberry boss was asking for? The government changed the law so wealthy tourists buying luxury,over-priced,non-essential products like Burberry produce can't now reclaim the VAT back on leaving the country.Do you agree with this policy or not? If you think wealthy tourists should be allowed to reclaim VAT back on luxury items then by all means side with the likes of Burberry in this instance.

@@adrianlloyd6403 EVERY EU country allows tourists to reclaim VAT on their purchases when travelling through or out of the EU.
So, if somebody wants to buy Burberry they will buy it elsewhere... In jurisdictions where the EU registered arm of Burberry will be making profits that do not pay wages of UK staff and do not generate tax revenue for the UK government...
International travellers are not stupid. If they are buying very expensive items they will buy in places where the tax and customs duties are either reclaimable or non existent

The thing with this government is that they are wasting their time on things that don’t need to be addressed instead of concentrating on things that need sorting 😡
Unfortunately they need a time machine to go back and not leave the EU. The path to rejoining is so painful they can't take it so now the only thing they can do is try to mitigate every bad consequence and desperately hope people will forget that every little thing they do is just a sticking plaster. What a rubbish response. In the immortal words of the sage, Jacob Rees-Mogg, to impose checks on imports from the EU would be a supreme act of self harm. Why is no one in the Government, including, obviously, the PM, prepared to admit that Brexit itself was a supreme act of self harm?
Because it wasn’t - for them. It opened the door to deregulation, which is their agenda. It allows them to expand their personal wealth creation schemes, the tax avoidance the creation of more off shore accounts , and Freeports, letting in the money launderers, the pirates and the other crooks. It also allows them to get rid of the unions, our employment and civil rights and soon our human rights. That’s what Brexit was about. But they sold to the stupids and the racists and the bigots by calling it a return of our sovereignty - which we’d never lost and which most of the leave voters couldn’t say let alone spell or know what it meant.

Brexit may well have been an act of self harm, but it was the democratic right of the people to choose the harm. If the government, after the referendum, had said this is going to harm the UK se we are going to ignore the vote would the people have said 'ok then yo know best' or have been totally up in arms? He really is Will from the inbetween UK show!! 😂😂😢😂😂
Do the public get a route to him or are we just not even pretending the government is meant to listen to the people and protect us against shady business deals?
At this point he's just trying to secure as many deals/change as many laws as possible to benefit his wife's business interests before he gets the boot at the next general election...

@@markgreen5153scotland hasn't voted Conservative for over 50 years. It also voted against Brexit. So imagine how we are feeling
@@michaelshaw9029 irrelevant. Scottish public had an opportunity to vote for independence but they chose to stay part of UK.
@@markgreen5153 most of the British public didn't vote tory 57% didn't vote for them.

😂😂😂Really?😂😂😂 his face! 👌😂
Gove told the people "This country has had enough of experts" and here we are, knee-deep in untreated sewage, amongst other Brexit "benefits".
When it comes to deflecting, this prime minister deserves an A+...
We'll listen, but you won't get a coherent response. Thank you for this amazeballs conversation.
