I Spent 1 Year Creating My First Game... Last year I downloaded Unity and got started learning how to make games. One year later, I have made a lot of progress on a game called MultiPlatformer, a multiplayer 3D platformer / racing game hybrid. I'll be mad if this doesnt go viral. The editing is amazing, and the content is full. I don't think I even need to point this out, but the game is great as well. Easily one of the best indie games in development as of right now. 10/10.

This is extremely motivating. I tried game dev but gave up because I felt as if I wasn’t making any progress, but seeing this I’m realizing I was making about as much progress you were. I just gave up. I think I’m gonna go back to it and try again with some new ideas

It's 5 months later. Just doing a progress check. It's OK I'd you gave up and it was not the right time. Try again if you did it might be the right time now. We all grow get a little smarter with time without us feeling it ourselves. So try again :-)

Ayo man I now this strategy works with some people. Try and add or tweak or change one thing in your game a week. Doesn’t have to be a big thing. Maybe it’s remaking an asset, maybe it’s adding a combat system. Keeping to a constant plan on doing 1 thing every week eventually leads to a lot of work! I know you left this two months ago but I hope this can still help

I really love videos like this. Even though I've used Unity for a long time, it's so cool seeing what people make using it, especially when they get to grips with it so quickly like this. Looks way more complete than any projects I've made!
I've always wanted to learn game development as well, but like you, I haven't come up with anything that I really want to work on. Hearing that someone was in the same position as me and managed to get out of it really motivates me to keep trying. Awesome video, and I hope to see more update videos on your game until it's completed. Nice job!

I thought it would be really cool to combine some of my favorite game genres together and try to create something really new and unique, and that's how I came up with the idea for this game, MultiPlatformer! The title is also a play on words for multiplayer and platformer lol

Yeah I want to continue it, but I want to be able to make it into the game that I envision in my head. I know I'm not great at stuff like level design and 3d modelling, so I want to be able to work with other people at some point to make it as good as it could possibly be.

I am impressed by how this looks. This project reminds me of Fall Guys (in a good way ofc) and the simplicity of the game’s art, like the menu, is very pleasing to look at. I’m sure people have given you a lot of recommendations already, but here are a few of my ideas:
1. Make different types of levels (obviously), but try adding something different to each level to make them stand out from eachother. For example:
a) a very short level but with multiple laps (or a long level with 1 or 2 laps)
b) two or three levels (maybe more) which aren’t courses, but battle maps where you have survive as long as possible.
2. Maybe make it possible to change the colors of your costume. It’ll be fun to mess around with the colors
3. If the games does well enough (which I really hope it does!), maybe add some kind a level editor or costume editor so people can make their own levels and publish them to some kind of online workshop and play them online with other players. Another little fun thing you can do would be that you host a tournament for making the best levels/costumes and the winners would get their creation become an official level/item in the game.
There’s a lot of potential for the game and i wish you the best of luck for this project. I recommend making a beta version of the game so people can play test it and give some feedback. That was all I had to say for now. Good luck with this game and, most importantly, have fun! :D

As someone who just finished his first real semester of game development coming from IT; this is pretty inspiring! My question for you is how do you learn and retain your information? I'm more of a visual person so videos really help me a ton but I often don't know where to start looking for learning materials outside of school. Keep up the amazing work.

To be honest, I'm a Roblox dev. I've been making games for 5 years, and I do believe I could game this game in a few days. But, I've tried unity and I know how hard it is. I personally gave up and went with Roblox Studio because of there free platform and it takes about 5 seconds to publish and make your game online. I could never make this on unity. Keep up the good work my dude!

They both had the same idea. Fall guys was made in 2019 and became popular in 2020. This game was made in 2020 before fall guys was popular, I don't think the devs knew anything about this game.

I’ve got an idea for a powerup, which is called “Slippery Climb”. Basically people can’t climb walls for a certain amount of time and if they are on the wall they would slip back down, giving you an advantage of winning.
