With a lull in recent league matches and qualifiers I took the opportunity to fish an open match on the popular Sprotbrough stretch of the river Don and this is the full LIVE MATCH FISHING FILM of how the match went!

Leam and soil........blimey I've gone back to my grand dad days also... When those bits started being involved I got away from the match scene.... then it was a case of joker and Bloodworm being the event... got away from that shite.....Then the Pole crew appeared... then was the time to just get the fuck out of it all

I can remember as a kid on the 60s that river would run three different colours in a day depending on the dye,s used further up.
Proves that you should never give up. They may be not there for awhile but when they do arrive you can turn it around pretty quickly. You played a blinder there, Jamie. Well done, mate. Looking forward to your next one. 👍😉😆

Well done Jamie you mixed the changes up well and got it right but it was a bit strange that you got more bights with the longer hook length mate unless the fish was just backing off the feeder pal

Longer hooklength would have given less movement of hookbait with the slow flow
could be the police shooting ranges opposite you behind those trees you can hear Jamie
Could you use braid Jamie in that swim and just watching video now excellent as usual mate
Yes Shaun some anglers prefer to use braid on that stretch.
@@CatchFishingChannel used to fish for the barbel below the weir but haven't been in a few years even had a 8 1/2lb barbel on the pole fishing hemp for the roach thought I'd hooked the bottom til it moved upstream lol
When you use your sticks do you go figure of 8 or just straight around ? Tight lines.

Definitely more lives and do you prefer to fish a swim like today wear you just concentrate on your fishing or wear you can see whats happening around you

Hi Jamie, we are not allowed to fish with red maggots here in the Netherlands. But do you have the feeling that you catch better with that than white maggots?
Oh yes I know Jan but I'm not sure it makes a difference, we use them a lot here so now we have just got a lot of confidence in them but I'm not sure it makes much difference if that makes sense mate :)
I prefer using reds on the hook but I think that's more a confidence thing. I feel I catch more using reds but other feel whites work better.
Question Jamie, did you pay out a bow or fish direct?
Only a small bow mate, there was little flow.

Hi Jamie! How many cameras do you bring to film yourself for 5h? How do you manage them during the fishing as i dont think they last 5h straight?

I carry 3 GoPros and 5 batteries in total and just swap the batteries when they need changing so it depends how much filming I do. I also use a GoPro remote which can switch them on only when needed mate :)

Great videos Jamie. Been away from match fishing for 15 years or so. Always loved feeder fishing for bream and considered myself to be pretty reasonable at it. Your videos are starting to rekindle the fire. Shame there isn’t a feeder masters at Nicols pit this year, otherwise I’d have tried my luck. Don’t really like Monks, so maybe next time. Keep it up.👍

No that's the only box I use now for everything. The XR36 COMP is really sturdy though mate.
