Maybe, but eventually childhood ends and you’re responsible for your life.
Marks profiles display a somewhat twisted survivorship bias. There are plenty of people who had horrible upbringings and never caused hard to someone else.

@@jimmydong8708 Yeah, I think it's a more than just environment. It's also genetics and therefore just kind of your nature. Not ONLY that, obviously, but definitely a decent part of it. If I grew up in this dude's life, I wouldn't have been a gang member because I'm a giant pussy and have terrible social anxiety. Terrified of breaking the law.
Things like this are more complex than just black and white. People turn out all different sorts of ways even with similar upbringings.

Well, I messed up, and to think it was just the other day that I had reinforced to my sixteen year old daughter, we cannot judge anyone unless we’ve been in their shoes. With the picture of him with the cigarette and the title mentioning gangs and heroin addicted, I didn’t have a very good first impression of this young man, not even close.
Come to find out, I enjoyed listening to him, and I really liked him. I had even been a bit disappointed that this conversation and interview didn’t last a bit longer. I could’ve listened to more, that’s for sure. Amazing how a few words can change your perception of someone else. I guess we need to shut up a bit more, open our eyes and listen, really listen. Who knows, we might actually learn something.
Thank you, Mark, for another solid interview.

He needs to repent toward God; admit he's a Hell-deserving sinner who can't save himself; believe in his heart, and confess with his mouth, that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again; and call on Him for the free gift of eternal salvation.

While his story sounds extreme- it’s more common than people realize, but usually he would be dead before age 31 so therefore not able to tell their story. Gangbangin starts very young, their roll models are the older gang members because usually the parents are not around or also are on drugs or in jail. Then once this lifestyle begins it is a domino effect in their life and creates a cycle with the next generation. He had a kid as a teenager but immediately got locked up, so it’s possible his kid is in same cycle as him. Very rarely someone breaks free, I have lived around this and seen it and it’s so sad for the young kids cause they don’t stand a chance in life unfortunately.

I used to be a makeup artist & my specialty was corrective makeup…cancer patients, disfigurement of all kinds. I would guide them through before & after reconstructive surgeries. EVERY PERSON that came to me, when seen totally stripped down & fragile were the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen. Because you saw their vulnerable soul. This is how I think Mark sees people. what a portrait! So rugged/attractive, I cant help but wonder, as I do with all of these beautiful souls, what would they be like now given a different set of circumstances. Adrian is right, the streets are a war zone, "get, or get got." Most dont know the reality of inner cities, severe poverty, lack of any opportunities or outs, most enter into the illicit drug trade as an economic opportunity and lack of any other route. As he said, hes surrounded by homies who are his only role models. And their paid and have protection. He also said he has to numb himself from his traumas. And where do these guys end up...dead, in jail, or homeless and addicted on skid row....if they're lucky, right? So grateful Mark captures them for a moment in time, I fear for the fate of many.
