People may be tre flipping El Toro and ollieing Lyon 25 these days but no skate video filmed today or at any point in the future will approach the level of Yeah Right. Everything about it is just so perfect: the soundtrack, the editing, those little intermissions, the team, the era that it captures. I'm so glad that all this happened.
I agree completely
Amen
yeah right and fully flared are the best videos of all time 🤷🏼♂️

@FirstName LastName KKK in Portuguese is the same as LOL in English.
we use that to make the text laugh.
kkk. is so fake. understood ?
@@PPPPPPPP8 It makes sense, but in English, "kkk" is most commonly used to describe a dwindling group of racists that most Americans are disgusted by. So if you're on a primarily English / American forum (like CZcams), you'll most likely be met with confusion and question in response to typing that. You could use "LOL", since you already understand the meaning or ya know "ha ha ha" is pretty universal :D... But you are free to speak in any way you want! :)

Who else loves the sound of a ledge being slid/grinded on?
Just everyone who skates.
me
I love the sound of a perfect Ollie
theres nothing better then the sound of wheels on concrete and boards sliding on ledges
+Kade Phillips there's nothing better than the sound of the pop of a board
Spike Jonze deserves more credit for his skate videos. Nothing feels rushed or jagged. All the music is perfectly synced. This video is a work of art.
Brah, it's all Ty Evans. This work of beauty is all in the editing.
Spike is an academy award winner. That’s kinda gnarly

Fun Fact: That $100 he stole in 2003 is the same $100 Koston is still offering to anyone who can "do a kickflip" on a longboard.

Brings back so many memories of my teen years in the 2000s. The whole subculture of skating. Skating downtown all day, getting into some chaos and sleepin over with friends, watching vids like Yeah Right. Saving up money to go to the big indoor skatepark in NH on the weekends. What a time it was to be alive.
Skating has lost a little bit of this vibe over the years. Not all, but some. It isn't any one thing, but I think the combination of major companies like Nike, Adidas, and New Balance getting involved, local skateshops closing, competitions like SLS bringing a strange gymnastics-vibe to it all, and social media making it so kids just put up 4 second clips of their tricks daily -- and there is no real point to releasing full video parts anymore.
But who knows, skating goes through phases and you always have the older generation saying it isn't the same anymore, so maybe I'm just turning into a grumpy old man. Anyway, I will always love skateboarding. Even as a 30-something now who only put-puts around every now and again I'll always think of myself as a skater, still buy lakai and all that for shoes, and always have a board in the trunk of my car.
Soundtrack is INSANE 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Its fuckin' phenomenal.
Can anyone please tell me which song is originally used on Brandon Biebel's part? I've researched and can't find it. It's not Apollo Kids by Ghostface Killah. I had the original version which had a different song.
ghosface song on the part is the original bro, you probably got the dvd version, after the copyright issue... I dont even know what song is it, but search on google "yeah right soundtrack dvd version" or something
It’s not the original soundtrack tho from the DVD -.-

I had a bootleg vhs of this that my friend made for me,i cut the "yeah right" logo out of a magazine and taped it on the front. Watched that shit almost every day the summer it came out and then went skating!
those memories man, sounded awesome :)
Damn bootleg VHS. I actually had the legit DVD. One of the few skate movies I properly owned, I loved that thing. Wish I still it had it, probably sold it along the way with everything else.

Man watching this just took me back to when I was 12, watching this with the homies and getting hyped to go skating. Watching it now for the first time in years and the nostalgia is overwhelming. I didn't know then just how iconic this video would be and influence me so much.

Rest in peace Keenan Milton
what happened to him, i literally just started watchin this and i saw that keenan forever montage
***** shit that sucks
+psfanboy79 he was great rest in peace Keenan 🙏🏻
psfanboy79 yeah what happened was keenan Milton was snorting cocaine/ smoking crack with sketchball ppl in Hollywood, and he fell into the pool and drowned. The fucked up part was that there were a bunch of ppl in the backyard when it happened and they were all too high to notice. It's pretty fucked, bc he was probably the best dude on chocolate when he died as far as talent and ability were concerned. A ton of ppl from world & girl/ chocolate were hooked on cocaine/ crack, koston got the name froston from snorting coke and doing freezers. Paulo Diaz, Gabriel Rodriguez, guy Mariano, mike Carroll, Sean Sheffy, I think Shamile Randall, Jovontae, Gino iannucci, and a slew of others were smoking rocks and sniffing lines, and it's the reason why a ton of skateboard careers ended. That was just from the mid 90's to the early 2000's, bc some dudes like pops ended up on the team and he had a gnarly drug problem too. And that's just in their camp, bc the Baker dudes helped keep the Colombian economy afloat with all the white girl they were doing too.
Keenan had really bad drug problems for a while, and he was getting out of control with how much he was using. People tried to get him help, dudes like Stevie Williams and Lee Smith were telling him to slow down and to stop hanging out with fiends. But his death was so hard for the girl dudes bc they felt like they enabled his drug problem and contributed to his death, all while they watched him spiral out of control
Dude I agree with what you're saying one hundred percent, Iannucci got tagged and sent upstate, that doesn't happen to you because you were just smoking rock....These guys had to come down with some evil shit, and I don't think I have to spell it out for anyone. Girl/Chocolate, while I admire them these days, were a bunch of spoiled brats from World who I'm sure Rocco was well rid of, now maybe he was an evil fuckhead who just turned them on to this sordid lifestyle, if so, Jesse Martinez isn't talking, a close friend of Steve Rocco. Also I am willing to bet that when P- Rod saw what was going on at Girl, he called Danny Way when Plan B was back and not the other way around. That is why Paul got the fuck out of there after filming for Yeah Right.I am going out on a limb here, but when Girl began they were scared shitless of Rocco, so much so that they reached out to Fausto Vitello, head of Thrasher, he alone got Rocco to back off?!? I hardly think so, The Vitello family are multi millionaires, I would ask, from what, a skate mag? I call bullshit on that as well. To me, this all stinks of drugs, and I am not talking on a small scale. If someone knows the truth, no one is talking. Rocco funded his company through the procurement and sale of drugs. Mike and Rick just followed the same model, backed by the Vitello family. Now look everyone,I am just keeping an open mind, I am not making accusations. I like many others are saddened by all the careers in skating destroyed by drug use.I would ask that the rest of you keep an open mind as well, I am writing just what makes sense to me, call me a crazy asshole, or agree with me, I really do not care, this is my opinion.
I skated solid from 1988 to 1997 or so. I never saw this video until now. Just watched opening credits. Likely the best video I’ve seen to show non skateboarders to help them understand the creativeness and complexity of the sport/art.
The fact they edited the board out of every single frame for the invisible board segment is incredible to me for a 2003 skate video. Fucking awesome.
they used a lot of green screen ramps too 🙄you can notice it on 3 seperate occasions

Best soundtrack of any skate video. I remember I was 13 when this video was released. I got chills watch Koston noseslide down that spiral stair railing and I still do today. Amazing.
@J G Were you just done with skating back then?
I did too thats almost the best part of the whole video.
@J G Sucks! I'm older myself almost 40 its just for fun now i never got really got good at skating but i loved it!
@J G I don't have any but i'm a tad overweight. Im cautious lol.
Matt Black I stopped skating around 19-20 years old. Started skating again at age 27. I’m 30 now and skating at least twice a week now. Trying to enjoy it for as long as I can. I’m not in perfect shape but I started mountain biking too a year before getting back into it so that helped allot. I’m a steelworker and work a blast furnace so I already figure my body will be aching in another 10 years. Guess it’s just life at this point lol.
I haven't watched this in years. Seriously the best, most real intro I've ever seen. This is a masterpiece no joke.
Still watch this with the eyes of the teenager I was back in the days. This video was a huge step up on the scene, technicality, flow, camera angles, such a masterpiece. P.Rod made everyone's jaw drop from a skyscraper, never seen such a smooth part from a young guy.

I can't get over what an underrated part Marc Johnson has in this... The dude killed it.
56:12 is the part i will allways remebmer this movie for! such epic editing!
and after this part comes the godfather of style, eric koston
the skatin, the skaters, the tunes, the videography, cgi, everything about this is truly incredible. I used to watch this on repeat when it came out way back in the (in my humble opinion) the golden era of skateboarding. so much love
Golden era was 70’s brah. I like the “in my opinion though”. In 70’s something new each month. From clay wheels, loose ball bearings, and flat boards to urathanec, sealed bearings, and plied contours. Street, sidewalks, downhill , to ramps, pools and parks. Ollies, three wheels out, tail taps, aerials.
Still have the original DVD. I bought it first day it dropped. Still watching it in 2020.
I love those tricks that are just so high up you literally have to say to yourself "yea right!" like nobody can ollie that high into a trick, but it's just close enough to make you go.... huh wait a minute. The editing here and song choice is absolutely spot on.
Eric was untouchable at this point. Best in the world no question.
