This game was bonkers.
The Jets came out nervous and then just decided they were going to play Colorado's game tonight... and still won, thanks to the Avs goaltending.
Hopefully, the Jets can find their defensive game, for Game 2.

Avs did...Jets not so much-lol. Just amazing what happened after this game. This game was unbelievable but after this game was even more stunning-even for us Colorado fans.

great win- more so because it is known the Jets can play defensively- but, here they are showing they can play in a high scoring affair!! This was intense- hope the Jets get their defensive game back- this team is versatile!
Thanks for the comment. Really impressive they were able to outscore the high scoring Avalanche while having an off-night defensively. I wouldn't expect the next few games to go like this. Enjoy the win!
I don't know that they showed they can play in a high scoring affair, so much as they got absolutely worked over, on literally every metric, and Georgiev bailed them out by letting in 7 goals on 23 shots. The Jets do have what it takes to beat the Avs overall, but let's call this game what it was
Incredible game... great post-game show, Remo and Connor, and yep, I agree 100% on Lowry being hardest working Jet. Great idea to put top line as 3 stars. They did great today. Love to see when our stars shine. On to Tuesday! Go Jets Go!!

My how things have changed since this night. As a Colorado fan-I remember saying this game encouraged me a lot cuz we were the vastly superior team this night analytically.But I also said Giorgiev couldnt ever start again for us,Aninen HAD to get over his illness,& we would likely never score again score 5 on Hellunbuck-let alone 6. To think wed hang 5 on him in every game(even though most weren't really his fault)-& a few empty netters-is just beyond unbelievable.
I picked WPG in 7 cuz of home ice,& goaltending-but im not at all surprised we won the series-even after this game that wouldn't have shocked me.But I would never have believed wed do it in 5...or in the dominant matter we did.Didnt the Jets go like 40 straight games giving up less than 4 or something? To go 5 straight playoff games giving up 5 or 6...thats why they play the games,& they arent won on paper or in theory I guess. Again Hellunbuck was down your list of issues-but Jet fans probably regret that pull your goalie chant I'm guessing.

I got asked to play with the moose back when I was 16 . I'm 35 now. But sure enjoyed the thought of playing with them back in the day .
The whiteout is unique in pro sports. It seems to, ironically, create a challenge for the home team. If the Jets can learn to harness their emotions from the crowd energy they'll be unstoppable.

The only thing I took away from game 1 was that we have no idea how the rest of the series will go. It was a circus.
I think that’s certainly a fair comment.
I had to step away from the game for a minute or two, at which time the Jets were leading 2-1, and upon returning, the announcer proclaims "Scheifele scores, to tie things up!", which had me thinking that I had transitioned over to an alternate universe.

I can't do crowds anymore. The whiteout looks like fun but its not for me. I hope everyone there has a blast. Too bad the Jets can't wear their "road" jerseys for the home games.
Totally understand that, not for everyone. Lots of people and very loud. Would love to see the NHL make the common sense decision to let the Jets wear white but it's not the end of the world.
Lucky to win that one... won't win many track meets like that.

The fact that we won when Helly gave up 6 (super rare) we are in good shape! and we scored 7! Georgiev sucks lol. And I think they have Annunen as the backup - Jets in 6

@@SportsTalkWPG 100% - I think like you were saying in the video... this year feels different... I won't say the Jets are necessarily winning the cup however I do think the cup comes back to Canada this year finally since 1993. If the Jets get through the Avs - Dallas is going to be an insanely tough out (assuming they get by Vegas)
