It wasn’t a good goalie performance but some of the goals were on skater mistakes, not him. They were too hot last night.
@@stephanea5364 goalies are there to cover for those mistakes. The jets defense was clumsy and their goalie bailed them out multiple times

Jets coach way harder on his players after the game. If the jets tighten up, Colorado is done.
If Colorado gets just average goaltending the Jets are done.

Two things stand out to me looking back. LOC is greatly missed, and missing out on a goalie at the trade deadline is a massive fail.

There were goalies available, but price matters. What are you giving up for a markstrom? And beyond that how do you make the cap hit work? You giving up 3 firsts for Calgary to retain? The mistake was in the previous off-season. The deadline just wasn't going to happen

I think we watched the jets end gorgievs avalanche career. The taunting felt a bit harsh considering that, but it was earned. I felt like seattle broke something in him last year, and he hasnt looked the same since. I dont know what annunen will do in net, but he starts the day he is healthy, and plays out the remainder of the season. Be it 3 more games or till june

Georgie has let in 14 goals the last two games against the jets. They need a change in goal.
They swapped out Georgie for annunen in the 7-0 game after Georgie let in 4 but still neither are close to competing with helly
On balance, it’s like a 1 - 0 game.

It would be hard to say Georgie "gave up" 7 goals. What about the "best goalie in the league", Hellebuyck? He gave up 6, right? I'm not saying 7 is just totally fine, you know, you gotta look for ways to tighten that up. But in context, it wasn't a goalie kind of night, it was a goals kind of night. 2 of those were PP goals, iirc, one of which was a baloney tripping call.
Hellebuyck faced about twice the amount of Georgie’s shots though…

No need to complain about the refs. They let lots of hooks and trips go, they didn't call the blatant trip after the whistle from the jets, and both teams had ignored interference calls all game.

Shots on goal 46-23, shot attempts 71-33. 1-goal loss on the road and the Jets got a lucky goal. This series isn’t over. If Annunen starts next game, it’s 1-1.
