Him falling asleep on defense and costing them the game vs. SAC was not pure gold... it's why he didn't play much during the playoffs the last two seasons.. He's severely lacking, mentally, on defense, OFF THE BALL. Granted, he's only played organized ball in states since 2016 (still in HS), so maybe that could be a contributing factor..
Rozier trade being "Even Better" than Lillard trade is a wild take
hes saying in terms of value. the bucks gave up lots of defense and four picks. the heat gave up one pick and a 39 yo. obviously dame is insanely better than rozier but the bucks trade was even for the blazers and bucks, whereas the heat won by a longshot yk
why? He's not saying Rozier is a better player, just the trade was a better trade. Meaning they didn't have to give Up Herro making the trade a better value
Think about it for the Miami Heats perspective they got someone who can put up similar stats like Dame for a affordable cost is technically better than trading away Tyler herro for Dame. Terry Rozier may not be nothing like the Dame time, but he can drop 20 points a night with great efficiency. Not only at a low expense to obtain Terry Rozier, you have in addition with multiple scoring threats on the team.
Rozier is as close to Damian as you could have gotton for this amount of trade value. I'm not saying he was a steal, but certainly a great player and a great fit.

with the amount of draft picks the thunder have they could trade 5 firsts for bridges and 5 first for maurkenenin and have an INSANE line up while not being completely depleted of draft picks. SGA, bridges, Chet, maurkenin, and Williams would be an immediate dynasty.

Rozier is not the superstar people are trying to make him out to be, he's a high volume ball dominant guard whose shooting splits don't really support that kind of play. He has had a positive differential in RTG exactly once, and that was in 2021-22 season when he had ORtg of 117 and DRtg of 115. The issue is that he's streaky and had increased volume in Charlotte with Melo missing time on a consistent basis. All analysis I can see points to his prime being somehwere between '21 and '23, but he still seems like a really valuable asset if they can find a way to bring him off the bench. Against other starting guards, espcially at PG where the heat have played him so far, he will get cooked on defense and will be a streaky low efficiency scorer on the other end. I do think he fits the culture of the city though and so I hope they find a way to put him in positions to be effective. If any coach can do it I think it is probably Spo, but I don't see the upside yet especially with his contract size

the difference between the 04 pistons and 95 rockets is that they were already really good, but the warriors are lottery pick contender bad. also there isnt a superstar on the level of rasheed wallace or clyde drexler that is on the market right now, the closest thing is probably lauri marknennen, trae young, or zach lavine. although trae and lauri are both possible to be traded, no gurranteed
I don't know about the Rockets tbh. Yeah they were defending champions but even with Drexler they were a 6th seed. Without him they were heading for a losing record.
That said it's definitely Rare for a team to massively improve let alone win a championship by a mid-season trade but it definitely can happen. It happened twice in the last 2 years with the Celtics and the Lakers
The Warriors had the best starting 5 last season, and the best bench this season.

Trae with LeBron would be an amazing combo. He’s an undersized SG like Kyrie is and can pass the ball. It’s proven that formula works, a secondary fast scorer next to LeBron (Wade, Kyrie) and AD can play with anyone that passes him the ball well (WB and AD we’re a nice combo if you watch them play together once AD was healthyish)

Honestly, I'm not too pressed about this most recent loss to the Kings. We played really well. 9 times out of 10 if we play like that, we'll win. The Kings just were not missing, especially Harrison Barnes. Also, if the refs hadn't missed that clear foul on Sabonis at the end of the game when he hit Curry in the face when Curry was grabbing the rebound, we would have won.

A lot of these trade scenarios were already heavily talked about in bleachers report for the past couple weeks. That being said, I actually doubt any of these trade would actually happen. I do not think Lakers have enough to trade for Trae or Murray unless hawks decided to sell short on their stars. Okc is doing so well because they know how to draft really good players through draft and not sacrificing picks for players. Bucks know portis is not the best player on the team but definitely one of the most important players. He’s the energy guy bucks really need so I don’t think bucks would trade portis for Murray in any scenario. But I do think Lakers and Bucks will make moves by deadline, just can’t think of what kind of trade would they actually make at this point. First of all, no one knows if this is the last season LeBron will stay with them or move on to another team that drafts bronny next season. After losing Jrue, bucks knew they sacrificed defense for more offense. So I’m guessing bucks will get a defensive guard role player that can bolster their defense.

He’s too terrible outside of shooting to be spending 25-30 minutes on the floor. His defense is terrible, his turnover rate is terrible.

Combine that with an underwhelming Wiggins and you have…. 18-24.

Dlo already have great chemistry with AD (the most important weapon on the team), shot well but at times a liability on the defensive ends.
Trae will probably shoot better at more consistent rate, still a liability defensively, while it’s hard to gauge his chemistry with AD.
With that said…is it worth to trade up from Dlo to Trae, for minor upgrade in terms of skills while most know it’s all for the name…
