as a 36 year old life-long Flash fan, I am LOVING this tv series and all the attention its giving the character. Also worth reading: The Trial of the Flash, Barry's last Story before he died in Crisis.
Yes, nothing can beat number 1. My other favorite stories are: Terminal Velocity, Deadheat, Race Against Time, The Human Race, Blitz, Ignition, Rogues War.
Great to see the wally west stories riding high here. I started with Flash monthly with the born to run series back in the early ninties and the return of barry allen story was always my fav. The Wally West series from around 60ish to 150ish were the best for me and I still miss that version of Wally West (who was basically wiped out of existance following flash point).
The Flash comics are literally my favorite DC comic because the stories are just crazy and awesome. Inspired me to be a writer one day.. Even though Batman and Superman are my top 2 favorite heroes of DC, Flash has the best comics. :D
+Jason the psycho Slasher yeah, I'm a casual comic book fan of both Marvel and DC since I was a kid but after reading DC comics like Flash and Batman again during my mid 20's I realized DC's have richer stories than Marvel.
Just a heads up to anyone that hasn't read much Flash, most of this is basically "Best Flash stories", especially the Wally stuff. If you want the greatest Flash era of comics, read those.
I agree but I have to say, silver age barry allen comics have some pretty interesting villains and stories. A little campy, but it's alright. Plus, you get to see wally west as kid flash.
Death of Iris? Trial of the Flash? And my favorite Wally Story - Out of Time (Wally uses Johnny Quick's speed formula and gets stuck moving so fast that time seems to stop.)
The one where the Flash jumps out of the plane, even though he can't fly, was referenced in JLU. When that happened, I knew he would make it, but still, it was pretty sweet. Also, after Batman, the Falsh (doesn't matter which one) is my favorite super hero, because, in my opinion, he's the most relatable.
that issue No. 54, where Wally saves that Flight Attendant was my very first issue of the Flash. this was around the time Flash tv series was on air I believe.
The only one of those I haven't read is #9. If you're going to choose stories that people have never read, try using ones from the Silver Age or Bronze Age that have never been reprinted.
Since the question was recently posed, in the new series, how do you get the suit into the ring, I recall from sixties comics that the ring was like spring-loaded and the suit would come popping out. It had to be the latest flex invention of fabric, or materials?
+Matthew Nash Rebirth isn't part of the new 52, it was before flashpoint. I think you're thinking of the first arc of new 52 Flash (Move Forward) when Barry phases a plane through a bridge.
So is DC gonna be releasing any new trades of classic flash stories? because I feel like now would be the ideal time to take advantage of the character's popularity.
+Garrett Knisley Geoff Johns' Wally West run is being reprinted, book one is already out. The Flash by Morrison/Millar and The Flash by Mark Waid are supposedly going to be released this year as well.
+Aaron Drake Because sales dropped after Rogue War, so DC screwed over Mark Waid, and brought Barry back and got Johns to write it. And then they didn't bother reprinting the Wally stuff until recently.
+soberchimera61 The Rogues aren't really ruthless, they're good people. The only time they tried to kill someone was Cold trying to kill Barry cause he blamed The Flash for Lisa's cancer.
+oOLanceOo That needs to happen. And not just in some temporary way like Convergence, but like, Pre-52 Wally needs to officially come back into the DCU, and have his own comic run.
Can we please change the way we market/talk about/hype comics? I’m so tired of the “here’s this awesome comic, and let me spoil it to tell you why it’s awesome! Now read it” angle.
This was shamefully done for supposed "DC BUFFS" - Flash vol.7 (you note at the end) Doesn't evn make sense without reading its precursor vol.6 (New52) you guys should note that!
I dont think rebirth is a good story, its just an excuse to bring Barry back even if Wally is the better flash, thanks to Geoff Johns silver era fetish, the same can be said for Hal Jordan. Kyle Rayner is a good green lantern that could have been a substitute for Hal as the main green lantern but no, Geoff Johns strikes again...
at least with Green Lantern, Johns expanded the mythos, wrote the definitive run, and didn't screw over the other characters. the only good thing about Flash Rebirth is that Johns followed it up with the vastly superior Dastardly Death of the Rogues.
I completely agree and the way Wally was handled in the new 52 as they got rid of ALL of his achievements and ALL of his history. Just terrible... I like Johns' work on flash(when it was Wally) as well as his GL stuff, they are quite good.
as a 36 year old life-long Flash fan, I am LOVING this tv series and all the attention its giving the character.
Also worth reading: The Trial of the Flash, Barry's last Story before he died in Crisis.
+ellrick While it was a good story, I didn't like it as much as Death of Iris. It just felt a bit too long, althoug the beginning and end were great.
+Tasdiq Dewan I could never find a full run of the Death of Iris, I bet its collected somewhere these days. Ill check it out.
ellrick Comixology now has the Death of Iris issues (#275-284) so you can read it there.
Appreciated, sir. Leave it to a Metal Gear fan to be a good dude.
ellrick I guess you could say.... I'm pretty good.
It would be awesome to get another Flash animated movie instead of Batman for the 100000th time.
Yes, nothing can beat number 1. My other favorite stories are: Terminal Velocity, Deadheat, Race Against Time, The Human Race, Blitz, Ignition, Rogues War.

More Flash movies(animated and live action)
like for real
+The Scarecrow Starring Grant Gustin.
+Will Mac no
Yes they should stop spamming Batman and Justice League movies, give the other Justice League members a solo movie.
Luis Olmo "
Wow, once again nice list I love the fact that most of these were Wally West stories ;)
The Flash comics are literally my favorite DC comic because the stories are just crazy and awesome. Inspired me to be a writer one day.. Even though Batman and Superman are my top 2 favorite heroes of DC, Flash has the best comics. :D
Top 10 reason why dc is better than marvel
Only casuals care which of the big 2 is better
+Jason the psycho Slasher yeah, I'm a casual comic book fan of both Marvel and DC since I was a kid but after reading DC comics like Flash and Batman again during my mid 20's I realized DC's have richer stories than Marvel.
+Charles Medalla yet you tried to argue that DC is better.
Just a heads up to anyone that hasn't read much Flash, most of this is basically "Best Flash stories", especially the Wally stuff. If you want the greatest Flash era of comics, read those.
+Tasdiq Dewan Gonna follow your advice.
Giovanni Alckmim Russo If you want the best experience I recommend reading Flash vol 2 #62-225. It's all on comixology.
I agree but I have to say, silver age barry allen comics have some pretty interesting villains and stories. A little campy, but it's alright. Plus, you get to see wally west as kid flash.
Out of Body Pickle I love me some Silver Age Flash. I love Carmine Infantino's art and the classic silver age weirdness is entertaining.
Tasdiq Dewan yup lol. I think it's cool that all these shows are finally turning people towards comics again.
It would be interesting to see Eobard posing as Barry on the tv show.
Death of Iris? Trial of the Flash? And my favorite Wally Story - Out of Time (Wally uses Johnny Quick's speed formula and gets stuck moving so fast that time seems to stop.)
Hey DC why don't you in your rebirth line #BringBackPostCrisis
+100,000,000,000,000,000,000
+Isaac Espensen New 52 is not that bad, there are a lot of cool stuffs. The worst thing DC made since New 52 started was the DCYou.
I agree with every fiber of my being
as much as I wish this to be true, I doubt it

Finally!! i've been waiting for this ever since the "top 10 fastest moments" video. Those didn't really feel like the best moments.
More videos like this on diffrent heroes (and villians) please
Working on reading The Flash a Celebration of 75 years, that has some good stories also. Has the first Superman and Flash race.
Since the question was recently posed, in the new series, how do you get the suit into the ring, I recall from sixties comics that the ring was like spring-loaded and the suit would come popping out. It had to be the latest flex invention of fabric, or materials?
Just bought Rebirth, and can't wait to read it.
It's really great, you'll enjoy it :)
Flash: Rebirth is da BOMB.
haha thanks. Saving it after I read some of the other ones I bought.
+Matthew Nash Rebirth isn't part of the new 52, it was before flashpoint. I think you're thinking of the first arc of new 52 Flash (Move Forward) when Barry phases a plane through a bridge.
What about the story where Batman and Lady Shiva trains the Flash how to fight?!
0:34-0:53 Barry was trained in Military Protocol by the BlackHawks themselves. Wow... *O_O*
You know what would be great? The Rogues getting their own series.
"look he runs" seriously that's your closing to this countdown
This was amazing
So is DC gonna be releasing any new trades of classic flash stories? because I feel like now would be the ideal time to take advantage of the character's popularity.
+Garrett Knisley Geoff Johns' Wally West run is being reprinted, book one is already out. The Flash by Morrison/Millar and The Flash by Mark Waid are supposedly going to be released this year as well.
Well, time to start saving. Thanks!
"Oh look, he runs!"
Those seem like amazing Flash stories
I've read all of these been a flash fan for decades
Anybody notice Wally has more stories on this list? So why is Barry still the flash...?
+Aaron Drake Because sales dropped after Rogue War, so DC screwed over Mark Waid, and brought Barry back and got Johns to write it. And then they didn't bother reprinting the Wally stuff until recently.
I agree whith the number one, it shows the pass of the mantle to a new generation and at the same time treats whith respect the old one.
This guy looks familiar. Isn't he on The Flash recap show on Collider?
WALLLYYYYY!!!! I miss him sooo much! T_T
Feel the same way.
I'm waiting for flash-green lantern friendship to be represented in the movies and TV shows.
Do a Top 10 Ruthless Rogues Moments video.
+soberchimera61 The Rogues aren't really ruthless, they're good people. The only time they tried to kill someone was Cold trying to kill Barry cause he blamed The Flash for Lisa's cancer.
when the flash suddenly vibrated into our universe and sees the creator of dc he was like "how do you know my name the guy says I made your universe.
DC, just give us back pre 52 Wally West and his family. Pls?
+oOLanceOo That needs to happen. And not just in some temporary way like Convergence, but like, Pre-52 Wally needs to officially come back into the DCU, and have his own comic run.
oOLanceOo ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE! lol
pre52 wally is not back to dcu tho lol xD
Yeah that's a pretty good list.
Number 1 actually looks really cool also I've never read any of these lol :D
How could anyone not have read these?
Ooh he runs
I'm such a huge fan of the Flash that when I have a son, his middle name is gonna be Allen.
Is his first name gonna be Barry?
I gotta get me some Flash books

Ok, never read number 4, and not entirely sure about number 3 :/
I've read Superman #199; good video, but misleading title
Mark waid run is the best.
I really like The Secret Life of Barry Allen
I wonder what story their gonna choose for the movie.
My favourite is crossfire
is Darkside war going to be this generation's Flashpoint? ...Seeing there's a "Rebirth",this year?
Can we please change the way we market/talk about/hype comics? I’m so tired of the “here’s this awesome comic, and let me spoil it to tell you why it’s awesome! Now read it” angle.
Why would you spoil everything?
Flash Rebirth is the best one

Actually I have read almost all of these
What if you did read them?
+ASaiyanNamedMalcolm Then you've read some of the best Flash stories ever.
Did they just call Rebirth a classic? Blimey
+Zachary Harrison It is now a classic because of the new 52.
Eh, being old doesn't make something classic.
Tfw the title lies ...
This was shamefully done for supposed "DC BUFFS"
- Flash vol.7 (you note at the end) Doesn't evn make sense without reading its precursor vol.6 (New52) you guys should note that!

oOLanceOo Johns' Wally run was such a good end for that era of Flash comics. It hasn't been as good since.
