- The Flash is integral to DC Comics but between Jay, Barry, Wally, Bart, and everyone else who joined the Speedforce, you as a new reader may wonder: Where To Start? There's a plethora of great stories for the Scarlet Speedster, to the point where you could move to Keystone City! So here are my list of the Top 10 Best Starting Points for the Fastest Man Alive!

My introduction to the Flash was Geoff Johns incredible run with Wally West(I love the Omnibuses for it) and Mark Waid's great stuff as well. Overall, the Flash is a great character/ series and do not let the mediocre CW series push anyone away from checking out his comics. Flash is the fun superhero you go to for palette cleansing.
Couldn't have said it better, I enjoyed the first couple seasons of the flash and my enjoyment has been going down ever since, to the point where I didn't finish season 7. Geoff Johns run blows that show out of the water. Super excited to finish it soon with the Omnibus Vol. 3
The CW show was good for the first 4 seasons. It was kinda corny sometimes like with all CW shows, but I thought it did the characters justice for the most part (except for Wally). The comics are still better obviously though, and honestly I stopped watching the show at season 6.
My pick for the best starting points to The Flash are:
The Flash by Mark Waid Book 1 which has the story called Born to Run which is a year one for the Wally West Flash
The Flash by Geoff Johns Book 1 is another great starting for the character in which Wally West gets to see how much different the DC Universe would be without any of the Flashes
The Flash Rebirth by Geoff Johns which is the first time we get told that the Reverse Flash killed Barry Allen's mother and framed Barry's father
DC Universe Rebirth The Flash Vol 1 Lightning Strikes Twice by Joshua Williamson which intoduces the villain Godspeed

The first Flash issues I ever picked up were the Fastest Man Alive issues, and I thought that was a great place to jump on. Recently I've gone back and started reading again from Flash Rebirth, and the only thing I'd say about starting reading there is that it would help to have a quick read on Wikipedia about Crisis on Infinite Earths and Final Crisis to understand why Barry is back.
My first every comic was a Mark Waid Flash, so I've always had a huge soft spot.
Can't say I disagree with any suggestion. Great list.
It's far from the best run but the Joshua Williamson stuff is good and obviously very recent so a worthwhile jump on.
I've become really interested in The⚡️Flash since just recently finding out about Flashpoint and whatnot...🤘🏼💯✔️

Recently finished Waid's run on the character, really liked it but I wish there was an omnibus release for it. Excited to read Johns' run next year!

I started my Flash reading journey with Rebirth and then jumped on the New 52 run when it began (single issues). Don't know if I could have started it better, maybe by reading the Brightest Day Flash before the New 52.. I'll have to pick that up at some point, especially since I love both Geoff Johns and Francis Manapul ^^'

My first start with Barry Allen The Flash is the run by Joshua Williamson.

@@MaddoggComics I don't think I will since I live in Serbia and shipping to my location is very expensive. Plus I mostly read comics digitally.
I got into the flash with the LEGO DC stuff admittedly (it's very fun). But for actual comics, I started with one of the silver age collections I picked up at my local comics shop. The second one I think? And it explains anything you really need to know but might not as you read it.
A lot of great stuff here. But i have to mention the william Messner-Loebs run. It's about 40 issues pre waid. It's incredibly underrated.
FINALLY, I EVEN dm'd on inst for This. I hope Mark Fuckin Waid IN THIS!!
Flash( both Barry and Wally) is great from what little I've read and from the series. If this doesn't include Geoff Johns we'll riot😉 But knowing you he'll be there with Mr Mark Fucking Waid.😎

I started with flashpoint omnibus. Looking to continue with flash and green lantern omnibusesss after flashpoint but not sure which ones they are...and great content!!

Wait I think I have the first graphic novel of the flash new 52 but I cant for the life of me remeber where it is. Hmm now what's the betting I'll search high and low for it not find it and then as soon as I concede and buy it again I'll find the one i have

I started on Flash 1. Wally, right after Crisis on Infinite Earth's... I'm on like Issue #55 to 58. 80s- Early 90s Flash has been a slog. Like I said, I'm on Issue 55; still with his mother, constantly, still with Chunk, still dealing with the lottery nonsense. Always about to inherit money and become rich, Won the Lottery, Icicles Estate, I don't understand it. I'm not giving up on it. I refuse, sunk cost fallacy all the way. I'm almost done with the horrible mediocre Messner-Loebs run. Waids run starts issue #61 or 62 I think.

It's not dead, just going through a bit of a hiatus whilst I figure out how to feasibly do it :) My free time drastically reduced a few months ago :/ but, it shall be back! :P
