Boss, seeing Frankie again brought tears to my eyes. he was such a great dog. I miss seeing him like you do. But we have videos to seeing him running around having fun.
We miss him immensely.

10 years!?!? How fast time flies! I have followed since the beginning and still go back and watch these videos often. Brings back a lot of memories- for all of us! We can’t wait to follow along with the new adventures too!
Thank you kindly :-)
Wonderful memories! and more to come. I'll be watching and enjoying your future endeavors.
I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. Wow how time flies. What a wonderful blessed 10 years you have given to all of us. You have so many skills and knowledge. Its been my pleasure to watch and listen to you and learn. Also all Lori had shared. So glad you stick it out with us! Take care always, and God bless always.
Amen 🙏 Amen 🙏 to that!! 🙏🙏🙏🕊
Now don’t you go encouragin them to leave my beautiful granite state for new yawk….they got enough foolish kid thoughts in their heads already!! 😎😊🤣🤣🤣
The older we get the faster time passes .
So very true.
And that's the truth!
Slow down time 😂❤
@@KarenLarsen22070 I tried, I watched the video 3 times today (and had seen the original road build) - it got dark before I knew it LOL
No kidding. I was 18 about 4 months ago, im now 35.
So nice to see Frankie. Such a beautiful dog.
Frankie had the best personality ❤ miss seeing him in your videos
10 years is hard to believe!!!! So good to watch Frankie again 🙏🙏🙏 put a smile on my face. He was quite the beer fetcher. I love that cabin - especially the location!!! God bless and take care.
Never failed to bring me a cold one :-))
Can't believe that was 10 years ago! Place looks great Boss. Old Frankie was one of a kind, always helping you with whatever you were working on!
He certainly was ;-)
Geez, ten+ years and hundreds, perhaps thousands of miles since! We boomers keep on stepping! Frankie was OOAK and I’m glad you kept the original closing song.
I think I remember watching you build that road. But wow, it doesn't seem like 10 years has passed. I've been watching you that long. Enjoyed every video.
WOW, It’s been 10 years already ! Come a long way in that time JC, funny how time just whips by & it feels like I’ve just blinked ! I ended up doing mine exactly the same way here in Montana & only 2 rough spots on my 1/2 mile road. Honestly you’ve been here with me the whole way JC ! Thanks for being you & helping all of us living our dream ! God bless.
What part of Montana? We plan a trip there too ;-)
I miss Frankie. He is one of the top dogs ever!
I greatly miss ur vlogs. When I watch u, it's like visiting long lost family. Thanks for touching base, and am looking forward to ur next video.🇺🇸🙏🐎🌠⚡🏁
Thank you so much 😊
Boy Frankie sure looked good. I sure miss his antics. He was a beautiful and very smart boy. God bless.. RIP Frankie!!!!
Thanks for the memories JC. I remember you teaching Frankie on how to drive that four wheeler 🤣. I remember the road building also. Take care my friend and God bless. Catch you on the next one.
Thank you and God Bless ;-)
Frankie was a righteous Dude. RIP Pup. I know you awaiting your Dad at the Rainbow Bridge and someday you’ll reunite.
My favorite videos that you made here were the Frankie Christmas videos! Brought a smile to my face when i watched them and now a tear to my eye when i think about Frankie being gone. Love all you do, rock on Boss
This must have been a hard vid to produce,Frankie is missed by many.
Bittersweet for sure.
I recently found you from another CZcamsr. I am an almost 50 yr old woman who's goal is in 3 yrs to build my own nest in the woods. I appreciate your how to videos a lot, gives another view for my notebook of how/what to do. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!
Best wishes to you on your journey and thanks for commenting :-)
Hey, Jim, this is right where I came in to the channel. Frankie was digging for chik-a-munkas , you were laying in logs and cooking in the dutch oven which is how I came to the channel and haven't missed a video since! So glad for you that you're back there again - always good to do some deep reflection and honestly evaluating if the direction you're going in is going to take you where you want to be in the end.
So very true about reevaluation. I like to get the dream fulfilled and then go chase the next one :-)
It was so good to see Frankie, I miss him as I know you all do as well. Blessings to you, Lori and Tildy
It's amazing how well the road has held up. It was good to see Frankie again.
Wow! 10 years, it's been a good journey watching you boss! Hope to watch for 10 more! Blessing to you both!
Thank you :-)
Awesome video. Love that Frankie. The best dog ever. Miss him. Love to you all.
Thank you :-)
I remember watching your channel back then. Fur prices had yet to totally collapse so, primarily I tuned in to learn all I could about trapping. I was an early devotee of your stuff. Seeing Frankie grab you a cold one was the best! I know what it is like to lose that 'special' dog - we are lucky if we get one in our lifetimes - but they are never really gone. Just as my beautiful hound Cleo lives on in my memory and heart, so too Frankie is with you.
Wow! I remember those times! And Frankie! What a wonderful companion!
The best!
Oh, my heart! I remember all of that build and Frankie's antics! What a boy!
I Love it! Beautiful and cozy❤
Love your supervisor, he was a great dog. Thanks for sharing. Relieving the cabin build is wonderful.
Thanks for the walk back in memory. I remember that video so well and you say 10 yrs, wow.
I track a few CZcamsrs in the mountains of Idaho who were both stranded from because non County maintained / private dirt road was saturated from the massive spring thaw. It literally bounced, undriveable. Your corduroy road was my first thought of at least a temp fix. I even directed them to your channel. They dumped some boulders but no luck.
Anyway your road series was one of my favorites. You guys stay healthy and happy.
Thank you kindly :-)
Nice to see back at the Cabin again. That road is mint. As always good luck to you my friend and Lori and Tildy.
😮WONDERFUL MEMORIES FRANKIE WAS A LOVE ❤
Thank you :-)
Never woulda guessed I had been watching y’all 10 years. Great stuff
That cabin is a work of art. Can't wait to see new projects roll out.
Thank you :-)
I can’t believe it has been 10 years …I remember watching you do that….wow 10 years😊
I remember watching when you were building the road, hard to believe it's been that long ago.
It was great to see clips of the supervisor hard at work.
I learned what a corduroy road even is, how it can be made and how well it works all from you Boss! 🙂Not sure if I ever need to build one in my life, but I would sure know the technique!
You are a great builder. Perfection. Thanks for another great Video.
Thank you ;-)
My heart is at that cabin. Love the trips to the beaver pond. My favorite place of your places. Love from Minnesota.
“Take Me Home Country Roads” Wow so good to see you guy’s back at tha Cabin always was my Favorite!! You and Frankie bought tears but JOY too!!! Know Tildy girl Happy there too!! Lori making everything Cosy!! an TRULY feel GREAT decision to add on an Live there!! Can’t wait for the Journey!!!God Bless an Health you an Lori an Tildy 🙏🙏🙏🕊
Thank you my friend and yes the cabin certainly is a special place :-))
Can't remember where I found this, but I like it: "Heaven is where all the dogs we've ever loved come to greet us." Love these flashbacks, especially with Frankie !!!
But onward and upward...with new goals and adventures ahead !!!
You have truly lived your life on your terms. And it shows. Hard work pays off.
Thank you kindly :-)
Thanks for sharing this! It’s always great to see Frankie and to see how things were done when we were younger. Looking forward to the next video!
wow I can,t believe I,ve watched you all this long and enjoyed all the years,,,,,God bless and kiss that dog for me.
Wow can't believe it's been 10 years since you built that. It looks like it was always there! Frankie was a Great Supervisor!
Occasionally while exploring the Cascades for old mine sites, we'd come across 100+ year old puncheon roads that are still rock solid.
I wasn't here when you were building this cabin, but started I believe shortly after you finished.
Too be honest what attracted me to your channel in the beginning was Frankie, because I just lost my Border Collie Jody after 13 years of love and joy.
Plus I was intrigued by your no bs attitude and getting some interesting information, getting rid of mice, how to keep food cool ( wall refrig) tree and foliage species etc.
So I can't wait to see inside the cabin. Hugs to Tildy. Blessings to you and Lori. 😊🇺🇲
This little cabin is such a gem inside and out and I'm very anxious to add on to it ;-)
I love the "fire side" chat location...what memories! Just a few things have happened over the past 5-7 years since you guys have been there on a regular basis! Thanks for the journey down memory lane. It is/was great to see again! Seeing Frankie again was awesome!
Great looking back !!! That road has called you back home !!!!!!! And we are damn glad !!!!!!!!!
Great memory, I think we all feel our hearts tugging seeing Frankie. I'm am so happy that you are Laurie are going to make this your home base. I'm excited for you both , and for all of us, to be able to share it with you both again. I love this place, but I remember these memory like they were yesterday. I know this has been your lives , but in a weird way, I feel like I'm old Auntie and I have lived it with you both. like were family. I'm excited to see what your guy's next adventure is going to be .Laurie you always put a beautiful touch on everything. God bless you both !
Thank you for your kind words my friend. I feel the same way about my long time subscribers that repeatedly leave nice comments like yourself. I often think about leaving Utube for good but then I'd miss the longtime friends I have here.
Love that camp so much ! I remember you building the road, I knew it would be fine. They have done that for centuries all over the world. Great video as usual Sir.
Thank you :-)
Hard work and perseverance pay off in the long run! Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video.
Thank you kindly :-)
The New York cabin. Don't know why but it is such a special place for me. Blessings to you both!!!!
~Justin
Hey Boss, completely unrelated question but a few months back I purchased a print of Aged to Perfection and would like to know what size frame I need as well as where I can get one? Thanks!
Another great video and wonderful to reflect on your progress.👍🏻👌🏻
Thank you :-)
I can't believe it's been 10 years! Wow, how time flies! Cray for sure.
I have always loved the way this cabin looks with the live edge siding. I think your live edge is especially beautiful with its being a little "extra live" on the edges. It is gorgeous to me.
If it's not to personal, how much land do you have there? I'm guessing it must be a nice sized parcel with a half mile driveway. The peace and quiet has to be special.
Enjoy the process, and take good care of yourselves.
Unfortunately my parcel is 23 acres but long and narrow but now that we're keeping it, I do plan to add some acres to it.
Been watching a long time, doesn't seem like 10 years since that project.... boy life's a ride thanks for all your content .
It was great to see Frankie. Clean hard work is still a great way to live. Awesome. Blessings !!!
Yes indeed :-)
the road looks great. that's called sweat equity !!! it was nice to see Frankie again as well
I'm as tickled as you about that road... I followed that journey. How imensely satisfyng it must be to look back at all the hard work to see a road as solid and sure as this one... You and Frankie knew what you were doing! So glad you're back up there at the little cabin. A road less traveled, and a life well lived! Thanks again JC!
I smile every time I drive that road, especially the 90 degree corner that once was a vehicle trapping sinkhole but has remained solid since the logs went in. I also smile whenever I think about all the naysayers comments and all the BS they threw at me. Too damn funny ;-D
What a flashback. Seeing you sitting in the chair by the wood stove. And I did notice that you looked a little younger in the road building clips😂 Just saw a picture of myself from 10 years ago, wow, time flies! So happy for you both to be able to do this and live out your dreams. Take care!
That cabin is so beautiful. I know you have a lot of fond memories there as well. I’m so glad you’ve held onto it. The corduroy road looks great after all these years. I look forward to your next video. Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you both!
Thank you and blessings to you as well :-))
@@thebossoftheswamp Thanks! 🙂
Thank you for the Trip back in time.
Yes I do remember you building the cabin and the road. Very good memories.
God bless.
Greg
From Virginia.
Oh Boss, thanks so much for sharing those videos. I miss Frankie, but of course you miss him more. I think the road looks fabulous. Thanks again, and it was wonderful to see you.
Certainly was a bittersweet journey going through all the old Frankie footage :-)
Sure was good to see Frankie doing his thing! I used to LOVE watching him dig when you'd dig in that sand hill. lol It was like he was digging for gold. lol I KNOW you guys miss him so much!
That boy was a digging fool :-))
Handle stress like a dog. If you can't eat it or play with it,pee on it,and walk away😅😅 ! Can't remember how long ago you had the video, you were looking through your old fur , fish, and game magazines! Loved that one, brought back good memories! Also LOVED the Christmas video with Frankie!!!!!!
Howdy Boss, Lori and Tildy, Rest In Peace Frankie ❤️. Appreciate the update JC👍🏻👍🏻. Wonderful going down memory lane with you. Just got results from a biopsy of my partner of 10 years and they said lung cancer 💔. Love and Prayers for All ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻. God Bless Y'all 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Very sorry to hear these results my friend. Prayers will be heading your way. God Bless.
I think the two best ideas are corduroy roads and bubble foil cheers !
That cabin, the woods and the memories of watching it all unfold are fond memories for all of us too. How many sunday mornings id be all alone at work drinking my coffee, listening to yankee Frankie wisdom and you too of course Jim are priceless.
Lots of good memories made there -)
Sure glad to see you! We have many old corduroy roads around here, made to harvest timber in bottom lands. God Bless!
You building this cabin was the reason I first created a CZcams account logged in so I could get notifications when you posted a new video. Absolutely loved watching your handy work!
Happy to hear that and thank you for saying so :-)
Sure Has Been A Labor Of Love For Ya's ! I Remember You Building That Road, Great Reflection Friends ! ATB T God Bless
I loved every minute of this project and it still amazes me how well it's held together ;-))
I remember when you first mentioned corduroy roads, way back in those first videos, and it brought back memories of my Dad and how he made corduroy roads through his land when I was a kid in the woods of Northern Minnesota. You resonated with me then and you still do today. I knew you and Lori where my kind of people. Thank you for sharing your adventure and journey.
Thank you for your kind words :-)
JC I enjoy seeing the old videos with Frankie and the gang. I feel an emptiness and a longing when I watch Frankie and the way that he worked with you and you with him. I know that you put a lot of time with the teaching and with the discipline....... it's called love and it's plain to see that Frankie loved you as well. And that you were best friends...... partners for life. We grieve for him but we also realize that it is small in comparison to the grief that you all feel. But isn't technology grand???? And so is the fact that you love us enough to share it with us! We appreciate and love you all boss. Keep On Keepin On JC...Yes Suhhh.❤ to all til next time!
Thank you Archie and yes we miss him immensely. I just came back from the cabin and being there make me miss him even more.
I love this channel, Boss! Thank you for sharing your life with us you two! It has been a great learning, slaughter my and loving time spent!! Can't wait for your next video to see what you've been up to!! Peace to All.... 💜💙💜
Wow I remember watching all of it! 10 years holy crap. Great to see ya back in NY and excited to see what plans you guys have for the place.
Thanks Boss. Hard to believe we saw a lot of that first time you posted. Always love see what you are up to.
That road is amazing and I loved seeing Frankie again ❤️ looking forward to seeing your future progress. God Bless!
Thank you kindly :-)
Hi Boss oh my you are gonna go back to the cabin!!! As you said this is where I found your channel so many years ago. I’m so glad you and mama are doing well. I can’t wait to see what ya do!
Boss you helped me to escape from the rat race, I did my time then sold out to move far up in the mountains and follow my dreams. If I didn’t find your channel I would still be stuck in the SF Bay Area hating everything about what’s going on, but now I’m in the forest with the animals happy as can be.
Thank you Boss for all you do and share. God bless you and yours. See you soon.
That's awesome and I wish you the very best on your journey :-)
Hi Boss we remember when you built the cabin. It was nice to see Frankie. Thank you for sharing. Take care Boss and Lori ❤
Frankie always loved working with me out there. He was such a great little buddy :c)~
I really like watching your videos. I admire your outlook on life and how you and your wife live it. God bless!
Thank you for saying so :-)
Boy Boss, every time I see the inside of the cabin with you by the wood stove... if I said it once (to my better half) I've said it often - "come here honey - look at this brick"! I just love the look and how well the trim color surrounding it all fits together. Awww... Frankie... I sure do miss the old boy!
I love the interior of the cabin too, especially the bricks and the surrounding wood trim :-)
Theres just something about this cabin
A Humble and Honest olace
Holly crap!! It's been ten years?!! It seems like it was just a little while ago I watched you and Frankie build that road. I can still remember Frankie digging in the sand bank while you were moving sand. It seems like not long ago you were baking cornbread and ham in a Dutch oven there too. Nice little cabin JC. I could've lived permanently in that cabin. Too bad it's in NY. Keep up the VLOGS.
I cannot believe that it has been ten years! I loved looking back and seeing Frankie again too. What a lovely home you will have again when you have things the way you want them. I am eager to see what your plans for the future are! Thanks, Boss this was great!
Hello Boss! I absolutely must tell you , that I am just. ""plum tickled "" that I have been feeling so. blessed to have caught you here on YT again!! I really missed seeing you two! Take care and enjoy this coming week! Peace to All... 💜💙💜💙💜💙💜
I always love your comments and I thank you for the smiles you provide ;-))
Yay for more cabin time! No lie, I cried a little over Frankie and the memories. ❤
Frankie brought tears in my eyes. I have a Border Colie , his name is Jack. He is my best friend so where I go he is with me. I can not even imagine how hard was for you to see Frankie go but the good memories never die. He had a good life and love and that is what matters because we all go at some point.
Yes he was quite the star for sure. We lost a lot of snow with the rain the other day and his grave is visible again. Can't visit it without getting weepy. He's got the best spot on the property.
It’s always nice to look at these old videos, even in excerpts. Hard to believe that 10 years have passed by and that the trail has evolved so well. Good old Franky has been a great buddy who was always ready to have fun while staying there with you. I’m glad you’re back in your NY-cabin it‘s a wonderful place there. Big hugs for Tildy and God bless☘️💫🍀💞
That's a country road if there ever was one. It makes you feel at home. It looks like serenity.
I know the Boss talked about a bedroom addition off the living room years ago. Glad to see you are doing it. Looking forward to the build.
Boss, the corduroy road episodes have always been my favorite. Great to see how terrific the road looks now so many years later. Thanks for all the laughs over the years.
It's amazing how well this held up ;-)
That's a fantastic cabin and road you've built. I got a glimpse of the inside and that looks great, but the siding is my favorite part of the outside of the building.
I'm sorry to learn of Frankie's passing, even I miss him a bit. Dogs are good people and all dogs go to heaven!
Thank you kindly. I'll be showing more of the inside in the near future.
Excited to see the cabin update video and see how it is holding up......Best wishes Boss
That corduroy road is awesome!! You're a very smart and resourceful guy :)
Thank you :-)
Another job well done, by the Boss! Good to see you guys again!
I cannot believe how long that was but you have done so much! Love seeing Frankie ... Thanks for the update. Love seeing you and so glad you are doing well. Take care and much love from Georgia
Thank you kindly :-)
Look forward to viewing your steps as you both move forward on this exciting journey.
I remember you putting the amazing labor into building that road with Frankie the Supervisor.
I am just glad I never made a negative comment about your road construction.
Glad to see your back at the small cabin.
Hi Boss,
Thank you so much for that awesome video! It was so much fun! It was really cool to see Frankie In his prime and you too! lol!
I’m really excited about all of your new upcoming videos, can’t wait to see what all you and Laurie do!
Thanks again for tonight‘s fun video!
Have a great week, and my husband and I will definitely be looking forward to your next video!
God Bless,
Love,
Sheryl
Thank you and many blessings to you :-)
The success of the corduroy road has to be because the persistent demanding supervision and a diligent obedient worker...of course a cold one now and then helps too...attaboy Frankie, ya little buggah❤
Yessah :-))
