I don't think Parky was angry they'd been defeated by Sheffield United, just that the reaction lacked perspective given the difference between the positions of the sides, which is what many felt. Easy for fans like me to say from their armchairs though and good on him speaking about it like this. Big compliment to Wrexham that he got so riled though
I havent seen any evidence of coins being thrown but i have seen evidence Billy boy wasnt just waving to his family lol.
Sheffield Utd got out of jail in that cup tie. Lost both centre backs in the first 7 minutes of the first leg and still took it to them. A bit of bad defending right at the death… the goal scorer then ran over to the Wrexham fans making crying gestures instead of celebrating with his own fans as well.
Had Mullin scored his pen in the second leg we’d have beaten them there I think.
I don’t think players should be interviewed straight after the game when emotions are high though. I felt they stitched him a little bit there by doing that. There was a big debate about interviewing players straight after the game when passions were high. I think it was after the Kevin Keegan v Fergusson thing. The main problem is that emotions were high for Wrexham fans and it could’ve caused a lot more bother than it did so for me it was a poor decision. Making crying gestures after a team heading for the prem scraped past a non league club was pretty ludicrous really.
As I said, a different player did it after they scraped a draw in the first leg. Games like that have made the FA cup a great competition historically and it’s a shame it’s more remembered for a bit of silliness at the end.
It should be forgotten now. I don’t think he’d be a good signing for Wrexham, not because of that incident but because the club’s building for the future and progressing with a largely settled team/squad on longer contracts. They’re growing and achieving together and I don’t think we need a player to pop in, do a job (which I do think he’s capable of) and then go. That said, it worked for us with Ben Foster but he was already a Wrexham hero from years back and a different level again in terms of his achievements.
Don't think Billy has seen the documentary because the footage doesn't back up his post hoc rationalization. He wasn't just calmly waving at his family. He was out of control raging at Wrexham fans. Phil is on video, for all to see, calmly telling Billy that there's no need to mock fans of a club 3 leagues below you. Good advice that Billy should have taken. Billy is likewise on camera acknowledging that he was indeed dunking on fans.
The other problem is that Billy has never acknowledged a misunderstanding about the Sonny celebration picture (taken months before). Wish Billy well, but better to acknowledge the misunderstanding and apologize. He owes his team an apology, too. He did Sheffield United a disservice by taking the focus off the team achievement and putting it onto his own tomfoolery.
Try getting a life...
Phil definitely wasn’t calmly saying anything, he was shouting in very clear anger, not even a yard away from him, talking about “there’s no need for that” “that” is football, if your fans can give it they can take it too, if you can’t take the stick don’t give it out when you’re in an advantageous position.
Keep crying your boring american, so obvious all these disney fans who dont understand english football
@@kahlebhowarth-jennings9688 he was actually calm, not sure why your lying, he's got his voice raised because it was loud. Also, players need to have more class than their fans for one thing. If You got beaten by Ronaldo at keepy-ups and he calls you names and made crying hands, would you think. Yep thats football, or would you think, wow, what a ****
@@gothicusmaximus5697 you clearly don't know the definition of calm, waving your hands erratically and shouting is the exact opposite of calm.
5:58 I thought it was robbo that said that not sharpy 😂
Good on you billy…..Wears his heart on his sleeve
Fair enough but I doubt he was getting hit by coins at the edge of the 18 yard box at full time 😂

Scunthorpe United legend
''No Grudge or nothing'' sure, sure Billy boy.
He's trying to salvage his sullied reputation.. BACKPEDAL!!!!

Favourite ever donny player, love him
He’s tryna get that Wrexham deal!!!!
With Fletcher out, that really might be the case. 😂
@@csg1236 would be a class signing. Billy sharp would still score 20+ goals in league two for sure. I hope he does sign for them
Never in a million years. Parky knows he's a wanker
he's just lying because he relised he was acting like a child. He explained himself at the time, they used the eyes emoji at Totenham before the game. He's a petty toddler that couldnt take some pretty mild banter from a twitter admin working for a team 3 leagues below him.
Cmon Billy, those who were there know there were no coins thrown , you were in the centre of the pitch directing your banter at us from the moment you walked over. Always thought you were a decent player, but don't make stuff up to justify something.
Just find it hilarious that these Hollywood actors and their club cant get little old Sir William out of their heads. Its been nearly a year now please get over it
Er this is billy sharp going on about it not a single Wrexham fan in sight
He’s had a few months to get his story straight.
What a load of crap, he purposely goaded Wrexham fans & had something in his head about Wrexham & the documentary. Now pretending he’s the victim and innocently waving to his family then getting abused by Wrexham fans. In reality went miles out of his way to give people stick.
The fact he has the whole of Wrexham fans on stings is bangs😂all 10 of the fans they have anyway😊

First what is what I'd like to know.
Ha ha 😂 I remember thinking at the time what a rattled tool but it's just funny now. Tozer would use his long throw and chucked him in the family stand if he got hold of him.

What a weasel. Billy acts like a child and then justifies his actions by pointing the finger. Classic projection masking insecurities and a weak mind.
2nd comment on this post already 😂 you can do better than this! Living rent free in your head lad haha
While I appreciate him speaking about it I also see it as it is ...that day was a great football game with tons on the table to be fought ....we all know that. Now if you wanna act like an ass and do what you do ....do not expect anything less than what you got from the Wrexham crew

@@aberamagold7509HAS to be a yank because he used “ass” instead of “arse” nowt more telling than that.

Billy Sharp is a clown. He should have been embarrassed for almost losing to a Nation League team. He couldn't even hack it in the MLS
Went to an FA cup semi final and scored like 8 goals in the MLS didn't he? Cry.

Wrexham players got too big for their boots and forgot what league they are in. The camera flashes must have blinded their actors temporarily. Sorry, I mean players.
Not changing mind on this guy. Ugh. He's spending whole lotta time doing cleanup now he's living in LA, playing for lafc & chasing American dollars. End of career mop up. Nope.

@@LOSTshowfan fresh start hes 37 lol
Fair play to Sharp for having a crack at Wrexham. Being honest, I can't stand the camaraderie and hype around Wrexham just because some actor bought them. They're hardly anything special, they're just charmed and lucky to have a load of money. Sheffield United are a proper historic club and Wrexham bottled their chance to beat a massive club in the FA Cup. The guy scored a late goal to knock out an annoying club that was thinking way above their station. The media kept wanting Wrexham to win, which is unacceptable. They're treated like media darlings... so, therefore, they can take a bit of a dig from a player who had an amazing moment against them.
Wrexham fans can moan all they want, the fact is they lost and bottled the tie
Finally a good take in this comment section, any other stance on this is clearly bias toward the underdog.
