Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience Abiola 🙏 I found this video very helpful and appreciate your energy and presence in it.
I teach my first-ever public class in just a few hours! I really appreciate this advice, these are all phenomenal tips that have already made me feel more centered.
You're welcome!
As a new MALE yoga instructor I feel awkward, self--conscious, and out of place too, and found this video very, very helpful. I cannot pick one suggestion that is better than another. I plan to re-watch this in a week or two, or maybe every week until I start to feel confident. Thank you soooo much Abiola for making this video. Peace to you.
Congratulations on completing your yoga training hours! Guess I never considered the level of awkwardness for male instructors in this space. Thanks for bringing this awareness to the forefront. And I'm wishing you an abundance of success & support throughout your new journey!
I've been certified since 2020. I have yet to teach a class. Thank you for these wonderful tips.
You’re welcome 👌🏾
What are some questions you have that would support your first class?
Me too 😭
I’m in yoga training now I wish I would’ve watched this before I started.
Thank you! The imposter syndrome really stuck with me 🙏🏽
You got this
This is one of the best videos I have ever watched. Thank you for being so simple and crisp about the facts. I have seen so many videos by others, just had to press forward to find some substance in it, some fancy talks and lectures on lifestyle changes.
Thank you so much for this video especially #6. I teach in a predominantly white area & it's been a challenge. I'm grateful to have supportive people in my circle though
You are so welcome!
I love your energy and confidence
I've been wanting to teach Yoga for a few years now, thanks for these tips 🙏🏼
My anxiety is relieved after watching this video, and your comfort and energy bring me a feeling of meditation, which encourages me a lot. Thanks~~
I really enjoyed watching this video. It was very helpful. For me it’s the imposter syndrome and the continuing research that really stood out.❤
I hear that! I'm glad those points resonated for you
Thank you. Haven't taught any class yet. This is helpful. 😊
Very helpful, thank you
love that you spoke to internalized racism and the lived experience we bring to our teaching - thank you for this incredible resource!
I am still learning to be a trainer and I just started to give yoga lessons (last week). You video is helping me so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you ❤🙏
Thank you for this video! Currently finishing my 200YTT and i feel like such a noob lol! Thank you for grounding your viewers and reminding us of what it’s like to “begin”
Thank you so much for sharing❤️ Best tips for new yoga teachers that I’ve heard on CZcams! Great advice!
This is so dope. Thanks for taking the time to share this. Would love to see more videos for teachers in training and new teachers!!
Absolutely! What’s 1 question you’d like me to create a video on for teachers in training/new teachers? 🤎
@@YogabyBiola oof, good question. I have so many!!!! Lol One of the things that feels important to me is how one builds community with other POC/WOC that are teaching, especially after YTT is done. I also would love to hear about your recommendations for creating affirming space in yoga practice for POC and other (possibly intersecting) marginalized identities
I needed to watch this! I just did my 2nd class yesterday. The unworthiness part made me emotional because it was spot on. But all of the tips were! Thank you ✨
@Abiola, I appreciate your content, especially this new series for new/prospective Yoga Teachers. You've recently posted on IG about intuitive/innovate sequencing and cueing. Can you make a CZcams Video on this? My 200-YTT did not focus on asana and this is an area I need support. Thank you so much for all you do!
love this. thank you!!
This video in all of its 17 minutes has left me feeling so inspired. I really resonate with the nerves before class and internalised racism of being a woman of colour. But the way you spoke with such poise and wisdom reminds me that all of those things don’t matter in grand scheme of things. Thank you so much again
Thanks so much - so glad to have found your channel as I go through my YTT-200.
Thank you so much for this!
Thank you love!! This was so helpful & refreshing to hear. My 200 hrs are coming close to the end & I'm dealing with so much internal doubts and uncertainty right now. I so needed to hear this! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
So subtle knowledge. Thanks for this precious video❤🙏
Great wisdom and insight 🙏🏽
Great advice for new teachers!!
This is such good advice, i am going to listen to it again! Thank you!!
I appreciate this video and you. Thank you.
This is super helpful, thank yoU!
This was short and to the most essential points. This calmed my nerves and I think I'll be ready to take a training soon. Thank you!
Loved your video! Thanks for all the advice. Your energy is so peaceful and supportive ❤❤
You're welcome beauty! What other questions would you like me to unpack for Yoga Instructors?
this was so helpful thank you so much!
Great tips for anyone in any teaching setting, Abiola!
Wonderful sis, thanks for sharing that 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for this video. I’m almost done with my 200YTT but I’m still not confident to teach. There’s always a negative narrative in my head to criticize myself especially when I’m in an unfamiliar environment. English is not my 1st language so speaking in front of a big group is definitely a big challenge for me. I’m nervous but I am also excited to see what this road is leading me to 🙏
Amazing video! The best I've seen on YT! Thank you.
You're welcome beauty! Would love to have you join my Chakra Masterclass May 9th if you're available iyawell.com/masterclass-chakra/
I taught my first class yesterday on a public beach and one of the students said “hey my other yoga teacher does this too! Do all yoga teachers do the same thing?” Imposter syndrome smacked me right in the face. While disregarding what my student said I continued the lesson anyway. In my opinion if something someone else has done or said is negative. Isn’t worth the energy 🔥👏 only internalize how we react. Not what makes you react.
This was so helpful thank you 😊 ❤
That’s a great video ❤️ thank you! As a bipoc instructor tip number 6 was crucial and it actually made me realize that it might be the biggest thing that makes me feel not confident when stepping in front of the room! I’ll apply it! Thank you!
This is beautiful ❤ thank you for sharing

Thanks so much for those invaluable tips, i feel like im forever stuck in the unworthy spot; I'm pretty new to yoga and at the age of 50 learning how to become a yoga teacher and 8m thinking what good teacher can i be with no background, and i feel i don't have many years to just wait around until i have more personal experience, what can 8 tell myself to undo this obstacle?
You can tell yourself you can do it & become a teacher! You're ready, trust yourself. Click here to get on the waitlist for my Yoga Teacher Training at www.iyawell.com/ytt/ & remember, even after taking your YTT, you don't have to teach right away. Take as much time as you'd like ❤
,.a cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Absolutely! Are you a yoga instructor?
@@YogabyBiola Thank you very mutch... have a nice day.... see you….
Very precious advices, thank you for sharing 🙏🏼
you're welcome!
I'm in my 2nd year as a yoga teacher and I still get super anxious and feel like I'm doing a crappy job...
Not to call you out, rather to bring you in. It's Kinesiology, not kinesthesiology. Just so you know!
Why am I just now finding you?! 😮
lol, I'm glad you did! I be around
Your name seems to be a very biological one
And of course you have to make it about being a woman of color and racism …so annoying…
Yoga comes from india not from the whites so stop making it about racism and color ..i expected better from you
Again, if YOU can’t relate then leave it where it is.
