  • Yesterday we took a look at the damage a stray nut that was loose inside the intake system caused to a customer's Turbo. But the story doesn't end there!
Today we take a deeper dive into the car to see what additional damage may have been caused when the turbo failed, and show you what needs to be done to mitigate some potential knock-on problems resulting from a failed turbo....

Really appreciated you showing this turbo scenario. Good mechanic = good diagnosis = happy customer

Thank you! I’m dealing with the same issue on my WRX. I couldn’t find any of the compressor wheel pieces but I will do a deep clean on the intercooler.

A rip on the turbo inlet just like that caused the catastrophic failure of my engine and turbo. :'( So everyone with an older turbo Subaru must do a through inspection.
Thanks for all the informative videos!

Brett, we spoke on the phone today regarding my Pulsar SSS. Just like to say again, great advice, many thanks!
At this stage I am waiting to hear back from Nissan whether they will fix it and having seen this video and Part 1, what else should I request they do if they agree to proceed.
I'm thinking they should do a clean sweep of the whole intake system similar to what it looks like you've done.
If Nissan does fail me, I'll definitely get back in touch to get your recommendations on a shop up here in Brisbane to get it fixed.

Do you have a “custom tune” for my 2002 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2DID? As I’m going into limp mode at about 22 psi Factory boost cos I removed all EGR and removed plastic stationary turbine thingy in intake before air box and I’ve just received my snorkel I ordered but I’m too afraid of installing it as this make it go into limp mode even more. I’ve also installed a ECU piggy back chip thing which works well with decent gains and seems to make everything run and shift smoother. I don’t want to manipulate the MAP pressure signal as I’m worried that might lean it out and just be extra heat and boost with no gains.

I would like to know if you work on naturally aspirated cars and is it possible to custom tune a 1998 Liberty with ej25
