4eat at about 240k .. Slips a bit on gear changes... Any updated valve body or repair suggested?
hi , do you have any associates up Bris way? esp re 2D foresters
brilliant vid !! thankyou for these.. please keep them coming (USA didnt get diesel so few vids are available for us)
My 2011 Forester started having this problem at around 65k miles. The exact same spot shown in this video. I’ve decided not to fix it and trade it off with another brand. Never coming back.
Not modern diesels, mainly VW and Subaru taking short cuts (cheap skates) by adding extra diesel on the exhausts stroke rather than fitting a separate injector in the DPF itself, excessive diesel in the cylinder bypasses the rings and ends up in the sump contaminating the oil.
what the heck is in a pressure sensor that it needs to be 500 bucks
what happened to you guys, you not at Rhodes anymore
I'm looking for information on fault code P2561 if possible I can send you an email address any help is good help
In replacing the turbo intercooler alone to a larger one, do you need to retune?
Hi Brett, same thing happened with my triton rocker, have you got a contact address so I can ask you about it? cheers
XLNT. Good on ya.
Need a new exhaust on my 2016 2.0 td outback Dose anyone know of a off the shelf kit or do i have to go custom Sydney nsw
Stay away from Subaru diesel plz .. I’ve got. 5 year old car with 200k plus on in all high daily use .. and still having issue with the dpf lights flashing !! Nothing work cars are not made to be diesels simple
They're bigger hmm Yeah I can't rally my car with Stock suspension 🤣
Have brought a catch can for my Ute with 27,000 on it. Was going to install it and EGR plate but have read not to do ANY EGR delete with it has a dpf. What’s your thoughts on this? Ide rather get rid of EGR crap if I can
The amount of condensation it collects is no joke. I found out by changing the ignition coils, I think i will check this thing every time i do a rear diff fluid change (15k miles)
Can this system be used on other models like a HDFTE engine?
Do fuel additives help this problem?
Thanks for the video, and the other video on the EGR valve. But, could you make a video on where the EGR valve is located in the engine bay?
MRT is no longer owned by Brett, its been sold on and he's likely enjoying retirement. Doubt you'll get a response.
@@christopherallen7974good for him, too bad for the subaru diesel community!
Does NOT help on turbo ECU controlled engines because it can and WILL compensate for the air restriction by increasing turbo boost, UNLESS well, you got it really clogged edit: omg australian accent, i can't heea 🤣 it
I’ve owned a 2010 outback for about 2 and a half years bought at 180000 km. I’m at about 220000 ks now. Had issue arise with the dpf and spoke to some Subaru specialists and in the end I decided just to delete it and get it remapped. I’ve done another 1000 ks since and now problems. If anything I’ve felt that the turbo kicks a bit harder. and better fuel economy
Does MCA produce tarmac rally suspension for a Mk7(.5) Fiesta ST, and if so, are they any more affordable/reasonable than the 'gold standard' Reiger R2/Rally 4 setup??
How do you take off? Does it still have a clutch?
What is that biggest turbo he was talking about. I missed it he said the model of it or not
Wondering what city you’re in, I’m hoping Melbourne. 2015 Subaru Outback with the diesel fuel filter icon flashing. White smoke occasionally after starting and warming up. . I drive freeways. Haven’t noticed it on the freeway but maybe smoke is dissipating with the speed 😅. Thank you for your knowledge.
Catch cans over pressurise the engine
Pity ye didnt work in Ireland.. not many in Ireland likes these or works on them.
My boxer diesel trys to start but stops after 5 seconds. The engine oil was high I let some out to level. I'm doing an oil change but it won't run..no fault codes any ideas?
We don't have the same problems with dust in the UK, the rain keeps it down! We just have problems with "rust"!!!
I just bought a legacy 2.0td diesel boxer today. Mine is turning over but not starting I check the fuse 7.5 amp pins are broke off in the fuse box when pull out the fuse. Any ideas how to get pins out? And these engines have a very bad rep in Ireland.. What do U recommend to keep it going sweet. I know the dpf problems but bottom ends goes etc. I'm going to drop sump and clean oil pick up gauze. Any other things in maintaince on these engines..you seem to like these. Lots of these on Ireland with engine failure.
Yes Gafa nice one 🤝🫶
Just show how
I have 1 nut it cranks but no start
Hi, Very helpful video! Do you know more about error code P1497 on Pajero 4 3.2 2008? I am blocked in SA as they cannot fix it here. I would be happy to have a confcall about it?
I'm in FNQ. Can you recommend anyone in the Cairns area please? I have a Subaru MY10 2.0D which I love and want to keep in tip top Condition. I think that it needs attention now.
2:44 mine completely failed after i started to push power on a launch, caused my launch to destabilize my wheel and yank my axle out of the cv.
Can you do this without taking out the engine?
Hi there , I have a question about my triton 2007 for Brett . ? My name is George .
Are the fa2dit rods the same as the fa20 ones?
Does tunning out egr operation affect the way the dpf operates?
The EGR should NOT be blocked. How about talking about the negative side of deleting EGR ? Higher combustion temperatures, for example is an undesirable situation. The engine ECU is designed to control EGR, it doesn't affect engine power, and the modern EGR system is very accurately implemented. Deleting EGR is a band aid fix from decades ago . Do that while a vehicle is under warranty and you'll void your engine warranty for sure. I'm surprised this guy would show the back yard quality blanking plates.. I'd be embarrassed to show such shoddy workmanship on a rebuilt engine !
Some saying the 3.0 diesel needs on cause oil plus soot cakes on intake??
This is the result of deliberate excessive EGR strategy of operation in combination with crank case blow by recirculating back to the intake manifold. All of this is only to achieve reduced NOX emissions, rather than a better or reliable engine.
That is incorrect. EGR is not just for emissions, it actually increases the efficiency of the engine when power is not demanded. You need to read up on the way EGR changes the volumetric efficiency of each cylinder by pumping inert exhaust gases back into the cylinder when power is not demanded from the engine.
Blocking EGR valve is bad idea in moidern turbo diesel engines because that is not there only to racicling exhaust gases. It is two direction valve and prevent ower boost presure in way it sending presure in exhaust manifold when is variable intake closed and breaking turbine wheel to slow down compressor wheel and reduce pressure. Conect EGR valve after DPF filter and send almost clean exhaust gases in intake manifold and solve problem bud dont block EGR system any more because you only done harm to your motor.
Almost clean yet there are diesels with 120k-150k miles with almost 0 flow from all the spot in the intake and valves
Smart man.
I get a rattle when it warms up…could that be chain starting to fail? Or maybe tensioner beginning to fail?
good on ya brett!
Will it fit my 2.0i and what amount of hp n torque can i expect
@MRT Performance Does a aftermarket CATless up pipe need a ECU tune or is it safe to keep running the standard ECU mapping? Does it throw CEL codes because the CAT has been removed as there is a temperature sensor in that up-pipe? Thanks Brett 2450 NSW
