I feel like Switch is the perfect console to port everything retro. And it speaks volumes that so many games and compilations like this are coming back. It's almost like we are yearning to go back to a simpler time in gaming. No DLC, no patches, just pure pixelated/ polygonal fun.
“I fell like the switch is…” why? Put it on all platforms. It silly that developers don’t want to reach as wide an audience as possible by limiting some of their game to just the switch.

@@ovlivion81 Why? Cause these retro releases tend to have higher sales on Switch compared to other platforms. Besides that, many of these retro games have originally been created for Nintendo consoles as well and the form factor and the whole concept of the Switch are better suited for fast pick up and play games than AAA releases and these older titles are - because of their relative simplicity - ideal pick up and play games, kinda like hardcore casual games.

@@ovlivion81 it's not silly, it's business. if the amount of money you'll spend to put it on multiple platforms (development, testing, publishing, marketing, support etc.) is greater than what you're gonna make, it's best to start on a single platform and *maybe* expand in the future.

The thing you didn’t say about the game was it doesn’t give the original theme song for the teenage mutant ninja turtles 1989 like the arcade 1 up didn’t that makes the value of the game go down I’m for sure not buying it until the price goes down

@@davezanko9051 Mike is right without the original theme song the game isn’t the same and price isn’t worth a lot what age are you 10 years old your for sure not 30 or 40 years old I own this turtles cowabunga collection but never excepted the wrong theme when it’s released by Konami and licensed by Konami it’s not enough on the NES the game was horrible no song at all graphics was trash but now on the most powerful consoles giving the wrong theme song sound not everyone loves this theme wake up fool

@@davezanko9051 it’s enough Konami didn’t do a remake on the NES Super Nintendo Sega genesis versions but now ruined one of the classic arcade versions by adding the wrong theme song means a lot to me also I didn’t buy the teenage mutant ninja turtles arcade 1 up cause of the wrong theme song it wasn’t just that problem you hit with the weapon you don’t hear April saying help me go watch on CZcams reviews that’s what I do before buying the games

I canceled my collectors edition and changed it to standard edition because all the extra art I wanted is already on the cartridge. I can’t wait to get this!!

This collection looks absolutely amazing! I’ve had my preorder in since before there was a release date, now I kinda wish I preordered the collectors edition too. I love the idea of these little quality of life options available for each individual game, maybe I’ll finally beat the original NES game
The nes game was the first game I played in the cowabunga collection
The collectors edition is cool but probably not worth the price however since I'd been wanting the Konami TMNT games for awhile I said I'd pay almost any price so I put my money where my mouth is kinda wish it had a CD but the collection itself has a ton of stuff on it
I’m glad this turned out well. Especially the arcade games. It would be awesome if Konami and Digital Eclipse can work something out and get us The Simpsons and X-men arcade
i been wantin to play the simpsons arcade game for a long time now instead of bein stuck with a stupid demo on the 360
I completely agree on the X-Men arcade game. They had the arcade version on Xbox live back on the 360 for a while, but I haven’t seen it since. I spent way too much time/coins on this game back in the day 😂.
Both of those are mediocre
The X-Men arcade was included in one of the Arcade 1Up cabinets with a couple of Data East's 90s Marvel arcade games, namely the Captain America and the Avengers (also a good beat 'em up) and Avengers in Galactic Storm (a mediocre fighting game).
@@davezanko9051 yes they did. But it would be nice to not have to spend $300-$700 on an Arcade1up. A $30-$40 collection for consoles would be ideal
It’s games like this that I don’t mind spending a $40 & up premium for. So much love & attention to detail went into this; the price is definitely justified for a true Turtle fan.
When I’ve heard the background music of the Sewers from the TMNT 2003 videogame adaptation, I thought it was just your personal choice of BGM for the video. Imagine my surprise being greeted by that music as soon as I began playing

I think colorisation was added is one of the patches.
Soo hyped for this collection. The company did a fantastic job! Can definitely see now why it took sometime to come out. All the content added is amazing. I’m getting standard version for the PS5 and the collectors edition for the Nintendo switch. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I do wish more games were online like turtles in time SNES, turtle 2&3 NES etc. That being said still Looking forward to tomorrow morning playing this collection with my brother. COWABUNGA!!

This game is a true gem once in a while they'll have a game that blows up out of the water and this is one of them
I love Shredders Revenge, I purchased both Digital and Physical copy and now I'm waiting for TMNT Cowabunga collection to arrive, I ordered through Amazon.

This is the kind of game old school gamers like myself dream of! I was more hyped for this game than any other game released in the past year with the exception of Shredder’s Revenge. I’ve played about half the games in this compilation growing up, especially the SNES Tournament Fighters that me & my brothers still battle each other in til this day on my Retron system. But now to have that game, the arcade games, and all the Genesis, NES and Gameboy games in one collection?? Totally epic. I’m getting this game on Day 1 (tomorrow). Looking forward to testing the skills of the world community online in Tournament Fighters. A shame that they didn’t have Bebop and Rocksteady in the SNES Tournament Fighters game though. 🐢

So happy we got this. So cool to have these games in one place, and presented so beautifully. I ordered the physical for Switch. I agree that SNES Turtles in Time online should be there.
Some of these compilations recently have been so sweet. Capcom Fighting Collection was good too.

@@mikeeone5649 But it doesn't have online multiplayer like the arcade games, Hyperstone Heist, or the SNES Tournament Fighters. Neither do the NES games (online for The Manhattan Project would be sweet).
I pre-ordered too even though I still have many of the original games. Don't do a lot of pre-orders and was worried I jumped the gun. Glad to hear the improvements are worth it.

Wow, I wasn't that excited for this collection when I first saw the announcement for this and I was a huge TMNT fan in the 80s and 90s. But seeing all the extras and settings they have added in here I'm actually pretty damn impressed.

Bro, I bought a physical copy of Shredder’s Revenge from Limited Run even though I downloaded the game to my Switch. That way you ain’t gotta play your physical copy and if you do, not much. I remember going to the arcades in the 90s just to play TMNT Arcade before The Simpson’s turtle like game came out and took over(or was it before..). I still got my systems games things I’ve collected since early 20s as I am now forty yet a kid at heart(I’m not old, haha). And to end this it was always that first TMNT game on the NES that taught me as a kid how to get pissed(the stage with all that electric underwater blah). Have a good one, bro.
My words became filled with anxiety.. As I had not a clue as to what I was supposed to do.. Yet I thought that I replied in some simplistic way to the “telegram comment..” It’s all good, and keep preaching about the idea as to what makes a game worth what it is and is it truly worth what is said. I look at all that I’ve either owned since the age of five(my NES from 1986/87 that I still own and play) up through middle school(SNES that I still own and play) into High School(PS1 original big body) and then into early, and late adulthood(A lot to list so I won’t). The games I still own, and the ones that I’ve acquired/collected. I have plenty that are worth a lot bones yet.. is that really what it’s all about? I remember when I traded in my copy of illusion of Gaia complete to a local game store where I live and when I did they informed me that they had a list where customers could request a game and if someone traded the game in, they would hold it for the person. It was a young kid who wanted a copy of illusion of Gaia and he got it. I didn’t mention that at first I was questioning whether I wanted to sell my copy of illusion of Gaia and when I was informed about the request list and saw the kids name. I wanted that kid to experience what I did so I sold it to the store.
I bought it yesterday. Beat tmnt arcade and hyperstone heist while I was on a plane yesterday leaving Maui. Great compilation.
I definitely plan on getting this compilation of my favorite 4 turtles and their gaming adventures. I am looking forward to doing a side by side comparison of the 3 original NES games with the slow down and flicker options, as long as my originals still work haven’t played in about a year on my NES😅
Absolutely loved the turtles growing up. I was born in 1980 so the perfect time for them and NES and SNES. Mikey is my favourite and TMNT 2 the Arcade Game was my best turtle game memory. Will definitely check this collection out. But as you know, still hooked on Mario Maker 2 haha 26,800 beat now

I totally remember one of these games for NES I used to play with my baby bro. What a challenge it was and we didn’t mind playing over and over dying at the same spot. I also remember playing one of these, or one close to it on a video arcade regularly at the Disneyland Starcade.

The best thing is that cause of the availability of button mapping, I can use the the Switch NES, SNES and Mega Drive controllers on their respective games. Total nostalgia high.

I was not expecting Tournament Fighters for the Genesis for some reason. That game is great. You can play the first straight up with glitches is a great feature. Nice review and great to Watch during a thunderstorm.
I'm here for the NES port of TMNT arcade. I have so many fond memories of playing that and the other NES turtles games with my buddy when we were kids
i got shredder’s revenge day of release because my birthday was the day after and i loved that game so much i beat it in a day. honestly im planning on doing the same thing for this collection cause it’s soo good and i really like what they did with it and also because i just want to get my hands on that original arcade game again 😂

I am SUPER excited to play all of these games. I am a HUGE TMNT fan even though I've never played many of these games except for the arcade game as I mentioned. Cowabunga! I'm finally buying my first game on release day this year! And arguably the 2nd favorite SNES game (behind Super Smash TV). Now, I get to play this before Shredder's Revenge physical releases.
I preordered this and Digital Eclipse's Atari 50 as well. This gives me hope that that'll be just as cool.
Cowabunga, indeed! Going to be a fun time revisiting many of them while playing the GB versions for the first time! If it wasn’t Super Mario growing up with Nintendo, it was TMNT! I also have a physical copy pre-ordered (picking up Wednesday) bc I figured Konami will pull the license one day, so I always have it this way!
WOW, if Digital Eclipse is putting out what seems to be one of the best retro compilation in recent years, then I'm very curious to see what they have in store for Atari50. I'm not a TMNT fanboy by anymeans but I've enjoyed the arcade games, and the very fact this exist in the first place is wild

Turtles 1 for nes is such a well made game and I prefer the side scrolling action platformer genre over beat em up genre but that 1st game was so damn hard that I never play it. It's like Zelda 2, ninja gaiden, Castlevania, MegaMan in the way that it could be one of the greatest games of all time but it's just too damn hard. If they have setting that even the playing field then this could wind up being one of my favorite releases of all time.
Got my copy today. Although they were absolutely amazed that the arcade game showed 1989 on the title screen, my kids were very excited to play along with me, and we were not dissapointed. They want more old school Turtles.
Now we need a Neo Geo compilation, with all of the Sengoku games

@@ssaunders1122 Yea it is. I was worried for a second, because I thought that from the video the games looked like rgt was initially displaying with a large border and small screen of the actual gameplay, but he later clarified that you can adjust the size of the screen and all that.
