I've already applied twice this year, may do it one more time as my lawn is new to it. And the bag of powdered humic acid that I have is going to last a ridiculously long time anyway. I mixed it with liquid seaweed extract in the sprayer the last time as it is supposed to help foliar uptake of micronutrients.

    Thanks for this video! I definitely want to try this. I live in southeastern Tennessee and have a new lawn that I sowed in early spring. It's looking pretty good right now but I'm worried about heat stress ruining it in the months of July and August. I applied a combination of Milorganite and Epsom salt a week ago. @SilverCymbal  Před 5 lety +2

      Great question, that recipe I showed is fantastic for boosting your soil, protecting plants from stress, particularly heat stress and also promoting health, all great stuff, so what's the difference here? Some people will have poor soil and they know it needs organics badly and if that is your *main* problem granular will put down a higher amount of humic acid specifically targeting soil with higher concentrations. You could certainly use more of the liquid product to get the same results but it's more cost effective to do granular once or twice a year for major soil improvement and use my heat protection formular throughout the summer for heat protection and soil improvements during that stressful time. Hope this helps.

    Thanks always for great reviews

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  Před 5 lety +1

      The 4 gallon secret recipe is to be used during summer months mainly for heat protection but for soil development also. I usually put that down 1,2 or times per year depending how hot each month is. This video will give you highly concentrated humid acid which is ideal for developing poor, sandy or c lay soils and very focused on that and does not directly give heat protection. Each year I will apply the humid acid in this video once or twice and the heat formula monthly during the hottest months. So you can use them together with even better benefits. Hope this helps

    My question. I have sandy soil, if I put down humic acid what can I expect?

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  Před 5 lety

      The soils that will benefit the greatest are those low in organic matter, such as clay or sandy soils. amzn.to/2FDzdVK will dramatically help build organics in your lawn which can help reduce water usage and many note that there lawn appears greener which is likely due to the ability for the plants to absorb fertilizers. It's really a miracle product for many of us that want to improve our soil which benefits the lawn.

      That's correct. In fact this isn't just another humic acid it's the best one I ever used. Lots of products say they have it in there, this is the actual item, meaning it's not a diluted form. Like real orange juice, versus, contains some juice. amzn.to/2FDzdVK - Free shipping to you. No fuss

      Silver Cymbal -thanks so much. I bought this house that stood alone for 11 years. The people who had it only came once. It was on the market for 3 years. I bought it three years ago. It was a mess. I've had it mowed, where it looks okay but now I am ready to do it my self to make it look really good. Starting in my backyard first. It's a very small yard so I have gotten some ideas. Thanks so much. You have given me inspiration.

    After soil testing in the spring we found out we had bad soil. It lacked organic matter and was salty. We have been amending it this summer. We just over seeded and added the humic dg about a month ago. Can we or should we add more this year or wait til next year? We are in central Massachusetts. Love your videos btw.

      I had very poor soil also. You can do multiple apps of it in the same year with no problem at all. It takes some time to build up, I personally applied it 3x over the season to jump start it. It won't burn or anything like this.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  Před 5 lety +2

      Thank you. This is really to boost the soil & soil structure and doesn't hurt of course, but can't help heat stress. The volume of humic is much greater than the liquid so it is able to provide more benefits but only for soil development. Shorter answer is that this one only targets soil but greater strength, the other is a fantastic soil booster with heat protection and growth stimulation and is intended to be used more often to combat primarily heat stress.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  Před 5 lety

      You can fertilize any time provided that you have some water to support the growth. My advice for this time of year is to pick to lowest temp day of the week and fertilize early evening, water it in. This gives it overnight to setup and begin breaking down. I would also choose a moderate fertilizer, avoid turfbuilder with it's 36N (First number) get a 24- which is all that is needed for this time of year. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching,

    The label states how much to drop per acre. A lot of us are used to per 1000 square feet measurements. For $65 does this go a long way? How many pounds would you drop per 1000?
