  • In the biggest game of the season thus far, #5 Ohio State visits #1 USC for a showdown in front of a sell out crowd in the LA Memorial Coliseum. Ohio State will be starting freshman Terrelle Pryor at quarterback but will be without starting tailback Beanie Wells against a Trojan defense led by Rey Maualuga. USC counters with Mark Sanchez and Joe McKnight on offense. While USC and Ohio State have generally only played in Rose Bowls, USC has not lost to Ohio State since 1974, so sit back, relax, and enjoy this monumental early season battle.

It's hard to beat USC in September in the Coliseum. It's an oven down on the Coliseum floor; the Trojans practice in it. I've watched a lot of opponents wilt down there, so there is no shame. A few weeks later would have made a big difference. I'm a USC fan and alum and I've always admired Jim Tressel and some of the talented guys who played for him. I'm glad we won, but I would have liked a better game.
