45s ago My Dad was the Landlord of The Red Lion in Hampton. My Dad hired a coach/bus to take us all to the fight, The aisle of the bus was so stacked with crates of beer that you had to climb over the crates to get to your seat! I sat in the third row at The Albert Hall and watched Gypsy Johnny Frankham win the British Light Heavyweight Title. Johnny rode back with us on the bus .. I remember that his ears were swollen! I was a 17 year old Catholic school educated girl and that is still one of the best nights of my life!
My old dad (Dave Smith) had a story about Johnny (must have been mid 1960s), said he gave him a lift on the back of his bike and ended up in the bushes after coming off the road. Dad's side of the family are out of Twyford. Both mum and dad said Johnny is a gentleman, always had a good name in my house, well respected man. Lovely to see him looking well and healthy.
Fair play Joe keep up the good work nown ya sinse I was a child used to live landgride news Hampton and be on the Dean road site was about with nookies boy Danny and Lena's noah and dem
Is Johnny Frankham the golfing champion? I think this guy and his bro was in the Hard Bastards book. Ps. Is it true Brad Pitt stayed with the Frankhams , for his part in Snatch?
Yeah Bobby used to live near me in Bushey just outside Watford , used to see him knocking about the local pubs all the time before he moved away @@theduke8362
What a humble nice man I also met Chris Finnegan in 1978 & he showed the Olympic Gold medal & he was another proper gentleman
I'm proud to have Johnny as a relation.. đ
