How GOOD is Paddy Pimblett Actually?
Paddy Pimblett may very become a huge name in the UFC. The fighter from Liverpool became a massive star in the UK MMA scene not only due to his skills on the ground, but also because of his eccentric personality. This lead to him becoming the Full Contact and Cage Warriors featherweight champion. So when he finally signed with UFC in March of 2021, there was a lot of hype surrounding his debut with the promotion. And he delivered as he faced early adversity before finishing his opponent, Luigi Vendramini, at the end of round 1 by strikes. There is a lot of buzz surrounding him right now and many are excited to see how far he can go in the UFC. So how good is Paddy Pimblett actually?

The end of every sentance finishes in the same tone haha
Yeah he has to stop doing that - it bothers me
Easier for editing if he has to redo another sentence
The downwards inflection is kind of annoying when it is literally every sentence. A bit like that chills youtuber
A fuckin robot😂
If u think of it as a robot voice it's less distracting
The way the pitch of your voice goes down after every sentence is killing me on the inside
I can't watch him anymore because of it. I can't hear what he's saying anymore. My brain just tries to predict when the drop is coming. It's terrible
was lookin for this comment 😂. It sounds forced, that's why it irks me a bit
Super irritating. Every sentence different clip on the same tone
It hurts
Amen
I know he’s young but the fact he’s approaching a decade in the sport and appears to have relied on his chin throughout his career isn’t promising, a head can only take so much
Gaethje ?
True look at the Iceman. He had a granite chin for years and a couple of accumulated flush hits to that chin later and late in his career it turned into a glass chin
@@HpPmL shit caught up to him eventually so he had to change his fighting style.
Agreed. Dude is eating some wicked shots, but he can't keep doing that. Patty has great potential, but his stand up game is real bad, and I think he feels that he doesn't need to get good at that because he's got good ground game, and if he can just get people to the ground, then it's all good. That chin can only take so much.
He is going to end up like Ferguson if he keeps going like this.
Had to run that back, his first opponent, 4-33...and an 18 fight losing streak! Wow...give him credit for the toughness to keep getting back in there.
....he must've been the "GLOAT".
Journeymen gonna journeyman.
Yo, at least you know he loves the sport lol
Check out David price if you want Liverpool hype jobs
You should do a "how are they now" or "where are they now" for retired fighters. That'd be nice.
I agree ☝🏾
Problem is, that format ages quickly.
How good were they remains forever.
They're all boxing now
pls tell me this is sarcasm... i dont really think it would be nice to see videos about our heroes struggling to earn a living and even speak?
Jesus is the truth
Saw a comment somewhere on Instagram that said that he looked like a drunk 15th century peasant that managed to survive a harsh winter
Fpmsl 😅😂😆
He reminds me of Guy Martin (motorcycle racer)
HAHAHA!!
A comment from that person on Instagram probably still lives in their parents basement and lives on cheese pikelets. Paddy has character and the ability to win fights, what are these people on Instagram doing with their lives lmao smh.
@@paparoach007 🤦♂️🙄 get out his arse
This dude gets knocked down like every fight, but he just doesn't go to sleep 🤣. CTE City here we come.
Oh it will catch up to him eventually for sure
He don't get knocked out he says 😂😂😂 I reckon he's a mad lad
Having a good chin is like a shield that can be held with barb wire the more damage it takes the deeper the wounds
@@Ysumbruh0 all good chins eventually crack though. He's gotta learn to be more defensive or he's gonna cop one too many smacks and end up unconscious
This pretty much applies to all professional MMA fighters.
Is no one going to point out how EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE that comes out of this guy's mouth has the exact same intonation?
I noticed this and I couldn’t finish the video
Yes. It's ^^^^^^^^>>>>>>>>properlyehhhhh
He's a scouser, they all talk like that, get a dozen of them in a bar and it's a whiney howling affair
@@DomRivers67 Tom_MKW is referring to the video's narrator using the exact same intonation, not Paddy.
Everyone is pointing this out.
Is it just me or does Paddy seem to just get even harder to deal with when pushed into a corner?
he swings harder when he's in close for sure
@@thekillers1stfan definitely. Kid goes hard

Yea his older fights prove that. You push him into a Corner and in three seconds he has your back
Paddy needs to change up his striking style. Brawlers almost never go that far. Its too much. He’s obviously a good athlete, but he’s gonna need a proper boxing coach. Jeezus, just diving in and throwing bombs. I appreciate that he’s willing to eat one to take one, but damn.
True can never outbox someone like Justin gehije 😂😂😂😂 n his power
No worries doodoo paddy isn't even in his 30s with the ufc banner on him he should have no problem finding striking coaches
@@muizz1627 Justin’s only good win was over a washed up Tony Ferguson, Chandler is gonna expose his title chasing, hungry ass to everyone. Ufc fanbots discredit him from Bellator which is legit mma group, and not some underground street beef mma. Olivera and Chandler are the wrestlers that

Are- are fighters not suppose to chase the title and be hungry for wins?
Great channel by the way, you explain the fights/fighters very briefly but with plenty of relevant information. 👍
I love your takes on these videos man!! Keep Em Comin'!! 💯✌️
He's more of a personality than an elite fighter...I THINK
I agree. We'll see how he'll do in the ufc
If he can learn to tuck his chin, he could be an elite fighter.
I am definitely rooting for him though. He has an infectious personality and even though he has holes in his game, from what I can tell he has the right attitude and determination to do whatever it takes.
Compare his personality with Beneil Daruish and you get your answer
@@johnjoesafatso he can take a shot well enough already, so improving his defence will make him nearly impossible to finish
Bruh, I feel bad for that one dude that Paddy fought first, Nathan Thompson like how on earth does he have only 4 wins and 33 defeats
Clearly, he was an exceptional can; maybe even the greatest can of all time.
Some people just really don’t have the talent for the sport
i noticed that too. ouch dude is a professional punching bag.
great video dude, awesome recap of all the fights that was fantastic well done
The way every sentence ends in the same tone is killing me

Great vid. Thanks for the effort. Makes it clear Paddy could take a punch even from early on. Im not really into MMA but love to watch this dude.
Every sentence starts high and ends low. Also starts fast and ends slow. 🤔
Literally the exact opposite of West Coast California Girl upspeak lol
and his last word in every sentence sounds the same,, i had to stop watching because of this

Is… is no one gonna talk about “Nathan Thompson” in the beginning with a record of 4-33 and was on an 18-fight losing streak?! Never have I ever seen that in all my years watching mma 😳
I saw that too. Damn bro, I’m not sure what kind of person tolerates 33 losses. Holy fuck.
19 straight losses after that fight too lol.
@@Deeplycloseted435 dude is persistent or desperately needs the money
Most likely a paid can. Not paid to throw fights necessarily, but consistently gets fights against better fighters to pad their records.
Haha I went to the comments section just to see if anyone else noticed that insane record. I just looked him up and he is now 41-7-0. I don't know how he keeps coming back to the cage.....
Man great video and you have an amazing Voice Over voice. I’m glad I found the channel and will be watching more.

If young "Ozzy" Osbourne was a cage fighter! 🥊😆
Very True.
@Ben Dover me either, ive said he's a brawler with good ground game. He will get better yes but in time to match the existing talent? I don't know, unless he gets hand picked opponents.
Bebop gaming. Yeah, biting heads off in the ring.
oh yeah
It looks like he’s always getting rocked . He won’t survive the top five of the lightweight especially with fighters like gaethje and porier . His best chance is for them to be done by the time he makes it to the top of the division
there's always gonna be someone with bricks in their hands, and he just needs to drop the dumbass "I can take any hit I won't get knocked out or brain damaged" attitude
@@338renegade agreed! Dude has gotten rocked and dropped a concerning number of times. Good fighter but his team NEEDS to MAKE HIM fix his defense.

He's got a chin and a lot of heart. We'll see soon enough how well he competes at this level.
Chins break and hearts fail.
I feel like no one is talking about it, but his lead left leg kicks are crazy. he was ripping them up top, to the body and to the legs like it was no big deal. I think if he really invests in those it could be a huge weapon

How good is Paddy's hair actually?
Top tier!
Just seeing how excited the Count was during the post fight interview was something. Gotta love that name too. Rock on 🤘
You did a great job on this video. You were fair and honest. Paddy is fun to watch and easy to like. Thanks
That was good commentary keep up the good work
Kiiyon Kimura looking like an MMA Chad dropping these epic videos. Good comparison to Justin Gathje improving his striking, that would definitely help Paddy in the long run especially in the shark infested waters of the LW division.
Well done my brother, I’ve been watching paddy for years, just like gaethje, he’s been in great fights for years before the ufc. Both are real warriors who win despite adversity. He’s a real one to watch
Hey Ke, this was a pretty good analysis and overall great video,,Paddy rocks the house homie. cheers
Just came from your Herb Dean analysis video, having never seen you before.
GOOD stuff dude, you seem to have put on a lot of weight and muscle quickly.
10:15 is a fantastic point. Had Dustin been the opponent in that situation Paddy wouldn't be making it out of that round.
Yeah but Dustin is probably the best striker at 155
@@Khonnell66 True, but if you're consistently getting cracked like that against worse competition then the top strikers in the world at your weightclass are gonna be nightmares. He's gotta work on his defense and risk management. Looks like a great grappler though.
But it wasn't dustin was it 🤦♂️ dustin is one of the best if not the best 155er in the world and he has 10years on paddy and this was his debut fight in the ufc. Shit comparison.
Dustin is scary
@@kiylemcgovern1340 bro I think you’re missing the point of the comparison. They’re discussing if he can become a top level fighter. In order to do so he’d most likely need to fight top level strikers like Dustin or those like him and if he went up with the same strategy against some of them he’d lose.
Paddy likes those flying knees. He also gets hit a ton.
Gaethje too
You been working out mate 😂 missed a few months of vids and now ur jacked 💪
Haven't watched you for a while I got a new account but you do the breakdowns the best unbiased opinions of Fighters and give us the facts I appreciate that good work my man. Looking boss as well looks like you should join the UFC in the heavyweight division
Nearly choked a squash match against a guy with a 1-3 UFC record. I smell wolf tickets.
Not exactly a squash match, as Paddy was only a slight favourite (-155) on the betting odds.
@@madgavin7568 Luigi was coming off a loss and was 1-2 before the fight, now 1-3. Not exactly throwing him to Khabib here.
@@hardnewstakenharder Nobody is implying let alone saying that. I'm just saying his UFC debut was not a squash match, it was not going to be an easy fight for him and it wasn't.
Really good, we haven’t even seen his grappling yet. His cage wrestling and submissions are already beyond impressive. He’ll get his standing defense to the next level with a little time.
Laughable claims
Great content, brother.
I think you are right on. Great video!!!! Patty is so fun to watch.
Exciting fighter! I hope he does well, it looks like defense needs work, but then again I’m an untrained and overweight fan lol
I’d be shocked if this guy can beat any of the top 10 lightweights. He has a memorable name, a Brian Jones haircut and he’s wild as hell. I don’t see much beyond that. At least his style is entertaining.
I can see him breaking top ten in a few years, but I’d be shocked if he hit top five.
I don't think paddy will make top 10. Not unless he does some serious work.
He's 26 if u think Dustin or khabib could beat anyone in the top 10 after their debuts then ur delusional
@@Adam-uz9sc khabib beats paddy 100% of the time when referring to their debut. Debut Dustin beats paddy more often than not. Paddy isn't cracking top 10 any time soon.
@@3ndoku5h I never said he could beat them just remember RDA and max Holloway both lost their debuts and look how far they have gone and jan blachowicz was 2-3 in his first 5 UFC fights he's 26 by the time he's 30 most of the to lightweights will have retired u can't predict the future he could lose his next 3 fights and still make it to the top 10

I mean honestly he didn't look that great in his first ufc fight but he came thru and won so that's something to build on , dude needs to put his chin down and hands up
Edit: I love the yellow gloves they use in the UK
I don't imagine he'll be the betting favorite against anyone from rank 10-15. Maybe against Diego Ferreira, but everyone else? I just can't see him winning

Great video
Paddy is difficult to hit directly because of his hair cut. It constantly changes the framing of his face. This results in glancing blows, when 3/4 of his hair flops to one side mid-fight and the opponent's punch heads toward the side of the face with most of the hair.
He just the Jiri Prochazka in lightweight. He seems like he doesnt really has a plan what is doin but he's so passionate and keeps movin forward that he manages to kill at some point. 😂

Bro, you're getting swole AF. Good work, keep it up. RESPECT.
Never hears of this dude but in the last couple of weeks i keep seeing videos about him show up on my feed
The beauty of Paddy is that he doesn't care about taking a punch, he'll dish out way more than he gets, but, it leaves him open to getting knocked out pretty easy. Wild stuff.
great video....I love the untypical, the people who look and sound different from all stereotypes. Your voice, appearance, and no-nonsense style crack me up...kinda like Paddy...an enigma.
Excellent considered assessment.
I enjoy watching him.
i wish him the best
He reminds me of the custom characters in video games you just create for the lols and somehow ends up bening your favorite
Still remember the first time I heard of him, back when he won the Cage Rage belt. The first fight I saw was sadly when he lost the title to Nad, but it's great to see him in the UFC debut with a win 🦔
Totally agree, awesome analysis. Thanks for going over all his old fights. His X factor is that outrageous confidence, that will help him get past people he is only comparable to not better than. But confidence or not he's going to get lights out when he meets Justin Gaethje. And I'm saying any of the good strikers are going to win against him. Poirier, Oliveira. He would beat Tony Ferguson if Tony takes a walk from the retirement home but at his best Tony would probably destroy him. I see Paddy as top 5 but not number one. In five years when he fights through some adversity he should probably be peaking I guess. But obviously predictions are difficult, especially about the future. Nick or Nate would probably eat him up, and they both have pet dinosaurs that they used to ride to high school. But who knows, when Paddy starts training with American boxers and American bjj guys he will probably improve a lot. Also, who knows what happens when he meets Chandler or some other nightmare wrestler? I just don't see him as a top contender and the question is how much he can improve when he starts finding new trainers. He's never really faced an American wrestler and the UFC is all full of people who wrestled for 10, 15 years in school.
I believe he's an elite fighter, but two or three guys are going to beat him up any day of the week. Fun to watch and I truly love his jiu jitsu. He would destroy Conor imo but a UFC bjj black belt like Poirier or the Diaz brothers is going to be at least comparable with him and probably better. Might fight to stalemate? Or they will win.
If he doesn't abandon that tough guy walk through punches routine he's going to be noticeably stupider in two years. Might still be dangerous in the cage but he has to get over that.
Well done 👍
Couldn’t have said it any better . How you evaluated his flaws at the end is exactly what I was thinking.
Holy shit you got huge bro 💪🏽
