    If we continue reading this passage of scripture it explains why these offices exist. Particularly Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
    Have we all come to perfection or the fullness of CHRIST? No, that is why these offices do exist. We are still in the church age. The age of grace. Why would GOD take away something we need to reach spiritual maturity? He would not.

      Good observation. Something that is literally stated in scripture, yet Eisegesis is being used to justify a point that isn't scripture based.

    There is not one man that can truly interpret the word of God with full understanding. A relationship with Jesus is the most effective way to learn. I have heard some of the teachings and have found them to be biblical however he sometimes walks that fine line of confidence and pride that he talks about. No doubt he is called but some things we shouldn't say.

      No not all Jesus said him and the Father are one then he goes on to tell his disciples that another mediator will be sent to them and in Romans Paul tells us that God gives us his Spirit and in Titus 3:4-7 he tells us that "He poured out his Spirit on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our savior[...]" so we do in fact know that they are all one in the same.

    I don’t think that this Greek interpretation is correct. If Paul wanted to explicitly connect the words, he wouldn’t have used a conjunction but rather a linking verb. The difference between δὲ and καὶ, is the first is commonly used to contrast and the other is used in an additive sense, yet distinct. That’s important. That is why we translate it as “pastors and teachers” because they are different things, the Greek goes to show that Pastors do have aspects of teaching which is not common knowledge. A teacher is still a ministry gift though, it is someone who is gifted in portraying the word of God in an easy and understandable way, not all Pastors can teach the way a gifted teacher can. First and foremost a pastor is to listen to God and lead the sheep, which isn’t always just to teach. So there are still 5 according to the Greek and it seems the English rendered it appropriately.
    Also, why is this distinction important? It doesn’t hurt anyone to believe in 5 gifts or to believe in 4, there are much more important Christian matters especially in todays world, this is a small nuanced semantical issue.

      Apostles/ prophets/ evangelist - are a category of the 5 fold. More outreach. Pastors/ teachers are more adminstrative. But just like in biz "enterpernial" type person has a vision/ dream where to take a start up biz. Need administrative/ managers to help them. But yrs later are often the initial people sell ( go start another biz- some are "pushed" out by fiancial/ adm type people. But after yrs when things change. Have NO idea where to take the biz. This is what is happening with congrgatiins. "My people perish for lack of vision" GOD almoghty is doing things. ( does nothing with out telling HIS PROPHETS / Watchers ) BUT admin type "Pastors" ( Ezeck 34 feed upon the sheep etc) teach what ( iron shsrpens iron) But NO they don't want to even listen. To others. And try teaching that thrre is NO longer the 5 fold. Yet HIS WRITTEN WORD states " Thst HE changes NOT" 1 Four zero Three Eight three zero Fortyone Twentyfour Cslgary Ab Cdn.

      Ephesians 4 v 11 - 13 KJv "..Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."
      So that would mean that all those offices would continue until Christs workmanship has been accomplished in his body (church).
      I understand that the office of the pastor would entail having the ability to teach the flock, but there are also those in the body who are teachers, but not pastors. The important thing is that God has made full provision for the body of Christ to be equipped strengthened edified and mature before Christ's return.

    • @HumbleHeartMinistry
      @HumbleHeartMinistry Před měsícem

      @@tracymcgee3961 You are correct. I did further study actually just last week on this subject. And realized I was wrong. I do now believe there are still apostles today, however, I believe also that the Bible is unchangeable, and the final authority, and anyone claiming to be an apostle that does or brings in anything that does not line up to the doctrine written in the Bible is a false apostle. We are warned repeatedly in the Bible about false teachers, false prophets, false apostles. I believe apostles in our modern times is more like missionaries who bring the gospel and form churches in places that have not the faith of Jesus Christ already. But we have to be careful in these last days. Many false prophets and false apostles are deceiving many people. We see this with the LDS church, the JW, ect. And even Christian denominations like Bethel, ect. It actually pretty easy to spot a false apostle and a church that is being taught error. When you see a rich guy claiming to be an apostle, and changing, adding or taking away from sound established doctrine. And the church is more about experiences, and feelings, and getting prosperity, and using grace as an excuse to continue sinning, and not about true repentance, sound doctrine, and walking in the fear of the Lord, reaching the lost, and being doers of the word, ect. So I believe we must be very careful to know and have our final authority be the word of God, and be studying it day and night, so we will be able to discern Gods truth, from twisted truths taught by people who appear as ministers of Christ, but are good talkers and able to deceive people who haven’t meditated in Gods word day and night. Anyways, we are all learning, and I thank God that He corrects us when we obey him and like the bereans seek Gods truth out, and prove by the scriptures if things are true or false.

    Romans 12:7 identifies a gift of teaching, without any reference to the role of pastor.
    δέ : a conjunctive particle, marking the superaddition of a clause, whether in opposition or in continuation, to what has preceded, and it may be variously rendered but, on the other hand, and, also, now, etc.
    καί : (as a connective) and; (connecting and continuing) and then, then; (as a disjuntive) but, yet, however; (as an adv.) also, even, likewise
    Although both δέ and καί may be translated with and, these particles operate on different levels: whereas δέ serves to indicate shifts from one text segment/topic to another, καί connects several things said about a topic, linking several elements within a larger text segment.

    I have heard about that explanation about the pastor/teacher which is a mandatory requisite as 1 Timothy 3:2, “able to teach”. If you can’t teach, look deeper inside yourself for your real calling. I’ve been to a few churches where pastors are not teachers at all. Some of them have a shallow preaching that is the same sermon with a different title and Scripture passage every week. Others don’t have any idea of what they are saying and have a twisted view of the Scriptures interspersed with their personal interpretations. Others bring an allegorical meaning to the text or passage that doesn’t have anything at all to do with the context. I’ve seen it all. I’ve been teaching since my early twenties (I’m sixty six now) and in between have also been an acting pastor in two churches. The second and last one for about five years. I didn’t go to a Christian college of seminar (went to secular college) but grew up studying the Bible and expanded my knowledge through self teaching and other great teaching and using any resources at hand to this day. God have always opened doors for teaching and preaching wherever I go throughout the years. I feel this passion for the Word of God and for the teaching of sound doctrine mostly through expository preaching. I don’t consider myself a pastor even though the Lord has got me there twice in my life, but when I hear pastors and teachers twisting and/or misinterpreting the Scriptures for lack of knowledge or on purpose I wonder how far away from Bible principles we have wandered away. There’s very clear instructions in the New Testament on who should be ministers in the church but now is all about a degree or doctorate. I’m not opposed to those qualifications but when it becomes the most important thing to elect elders and ministers I can see the failure of that method in way too many churches when I see many unqualified people messing up whole congregations. As a servant of God I keep doing my work the best I can for God’s glory but it doesn’t cease to amaze me how many people are in such an important role in the church while the congregation doesn’t recognize that that person shouldn’t be teaching.
    Mat 9:37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;
    Mat 9:38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
    Let’s pray to the Lord because those who are sent by Him will be the ones responding to the genuine calling of God and not of other men or themselves. God bless y’all.

    In Acts 13 there were Prophets and Teachers.
    The teaching gift is also associated with the office of the Apostle according to Paul.
    What he is saying is that the administration of Teacher is not an office, which is simply not true. One can be a teacher without being a Prophet or may be both, as is the case with the Pastor, the Prophet, the Apostle, and the Evangelist.
    One can have more than one administration.
    The teacher is a separate administration given for the perfecting of the saints.

Do we begin to call teachers who are gifted to teach and instruct in the school systems Pastors, IJS? I believe scripturally there are 5 Ascension Gifts, and as well other ministry gifts as noted in the passage. Yes, a Pastor must be patient, able to guide, caring, and able to instruct. The office of teacher can apply to all followers of the Mashiach. Husbands must be able to teach their wives and children, as well as those who may have questions about our faith. Barnabas was a teacher. Acts 13:1 Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. As a matter of fact were all required to be teachers in regards to our faith both to fellow believers and unbelievers. Colossians 4:5Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

    5Fold Ministry Government theology confuses and mistakes the roles of Apostles and Prophets as a continued office. There is no handing down of office other than pastors/elders (poimen) according to the 2 Timothy 2:2 mandate. This means whatever is an apostle and prophet is a function like church planter and missionary and someone who has an extra charismatic gifting. The ecclesiology model also is dubious when seen in light of church history, as if some restoration was needed. This is what kingdom of the cults get into and makes God's plan for his church as not the author of history or his own church. No, if such restoration was needed it would've already been done by now. The theology is more concerned with power and a system. The NAR is a counterfeit model to the spirit of the apostolic and prophet 'functions' that are subject to the shepherding 'pastorate' office to the local church

    Some interpreters have understood the phrase pastors and teachers to refer to one and the same group. This would mean that all pastors are teachers and that all teachers are pastors This position is often taken because it is recognized that both nouns (i.e., pastors and teachers) are governed by one article in Greek. But because the nouns are plural, it is extremely unlikely that they refer to the same group, but only that the author is linking them closely together. It is better to regard the pastors as a subset of teachers. In other words, all pastors are teachers, but not all teachers are pastors. See ExSyn 284.
