Scheduled a test drive, as I was still unsure. Drove it 1km down the road and ordered my very first Tesla straight away. I take delivery in 6 days and cannot wait. What an absolutely unbelievable car. This is the future. Other legacy car makers are at least 5 years behind Tesla with technology, research and development. I can only surmise that legacy auto companies have been in cahoots with each other for decades, releasing incremental upgrades, making us all believe that this is the best they can do. Along come Tesla and show us all that they have been selling us lies and BS. Go Elon and Tesla!

I dunno man. I don’t think the service infrastructure is there. I’ve heard the mobile service is booked for weeks and the weight of these things blows out tires frequently. I guess if you have the budget for tires, insurance and don’t mind wait times it can work out…

I got mine in february. It’s just the RWD version but I love the car. As you can charge the battery (LFP) each time up to 100% and the LR version better up to 80% then only the 4-wheel drive system and/or extra horsepower is the difference. With a 5.8 seconds accelleration it still masters the majority of cars. It’s my first privately owned EV and I love it.

When my Model 3 lease expired, I considered going to a Model Y, but when I checked it out, I felt it was too big for me. I had to climb into the seat. I'm short and feel the Model 3 let's me sit down naturally without having to pull myself up into the cabin first.

21:14 I test drove a RWD Highland and the brakes were also average. The initial bite was weak, but maybe if you press very hard on the pedal it would also stop OK (I didn't test that).

Heavy weight of an EV is not a valid excuse for poor ride quality. When was the last time you saw a light-weight Rolls Royce or any super high end luxury car? Tesla has bad chassis engineers is the real explanation. Remember, they are a software company, not a car company. By the way, they suck at software.

    • @logitech4873

Enjoyable in what sense? I tried a seal, and yes, the interior is more qualitative (although I like the sparse tesla interior), and it's more comfy. But it's much heavier, which you feel in driving dynamics, the trunk is small, the high-speed efficiency is meh, the charging speed is not very good. In other words, it's a good daily, but it fails at the main mission of family sedans: carry a family over long distances
