Still have my original 73 LTRS Z28. 4speed,muncie M21, same dark red color. It now has 58000 miles. Engine and tyranny have never been apart. Ran 14.46 in Sept 1973 @98.8 mph with the original Firestone wide ovals. As they say the engine internals, cam, etc. is identical to the 350hp engine from 69. The lower compression drops the gross hp to about 325.This engine is still very stout. Bought for $5100 in July 73.Appraised at 56K in 2012.

It's got an L82 in it. Same engine as was in my 1974 Z28. Still has 4 bolt mains and all forged like the LT1. Just a different intake and carb and cam. Basically a de-tuned LT1. But it is different that a 1969 350.

Me, too, so I bought one. Spring 1970, Z/28. Hugger Orange. 14.1 quarter mile, with a lot of wheelspin at the start. At 100 mph, on an empty North Florida Interstate, it drove as smooth as a Cadillac.

Wow!!! My dad bought almost the exact same car at the beginning of that model year! I just turned 13! We lived in Westlake, Ohio wealthy suburb of Cleveland. My dad was a diehard Dodge man who won MANY amateur drag races! Over 40 tall trophies! We had the 440 coronet 440 R/T, Dart 340! And first Challenger!! But I was into F1 car racing, studying European cars and preferred ROAD racing! He asked me to choose our car that year! He was also a top Automotive market analyst for Wallstreet and got to talk with all the top Auto execs! He found out exactly what you said and told me about this car coming! So we went for a test drive and LOVED it!! Definitely a top handling American car! Very neutral!! His favorite color was always maroon! And he ordered the black stripes as well! We specifically wanted the full front bumper version! We had headers put on with Thrush mufflers, pipes turned down before rear axle. Then we got the iconic chrome Crager Mag wheels with blackwall BF Goodrich radials! We got larger in the rear! I loved that rear spoiler too! And the downforce was very noticeable during the big Midwest rainstorms! My dad ran 13.73 quarter mile times at Dragway 42! Oh! He always raced automatics! And I could downshift it very nicely! Eventually I got my license and got to drive it to high school! I was like a rock star!! Lol. Then my dad and I took many father son drives through the great Ohio back country roads! Often going to the Mid Ohio race course! Saw all the greats in Can Am and F-5000! And I got to use it on my first big dates! Made out in the back seat with that uncomfortable hump in the middle (no pun intended lol) we had all black vinyl. And my dad insisted on no A/C and only an AM radio! We weren't supposed to focus on music while driving! He always said we can drive fast but only if we are safe! (I got my first speeding ticket in that car! 75 mph urgh) my dad eventually moved to Florida with it also! Lol. Thanks for your post!!

Nice that it isn't bastardized into a (split bumper) RS. Is that Cranberry? It was an awesome color too.

Beautiful car but if he still wants that car to be around he needs to take that glass fuel filter off because they were prone for fire hazards from the glass cracking on the glass fuel filters !!!

There is an identical all original car and colours in Toronto area. It’s showroom condition. You have in my opinion, the best Z28 produced. I had a 85 Z28 I regret selling.

With all the ten-paint-jobs-over-bondo Camaros out there its nice to see an original car. I had a simple big-bumper Camaro -- with a 250 6! -- that was totally original including paint (stored for twenty years) and it drew people at every gas stop. Just sold it and regret it because there are just no original Camaros left. Not a big fan though of stock-wheeled super/muscle/pony cars having their suspension lowered.
