The throwing baseball thing is true...I had a buddy in high-school who pitched his whole life...his arms weren't big but he had incredible tendon strength.. I've seen him beat huge muscle men arm wrestling like they were children....and every fight he got in he broke jaws...and broke his hand at the same time

Mad respect to Tony's wife for doing the appropriate steps. She could have ruined his life in court, but she stood by him
Yeah modern women nowadays would had taken everything from him and proceed to the next victim. Huge praise for a worthy traditional woman. Tony got lucky in this department
@@slayerofturks7467 Her is a tip that might help you in life. Not all women or men are the same. Shocker, I know. Not in modern times, nor in the past.
@@matepavic6929 Well buddy sluts and pieces of shits existed always. At least in my country in the 50s and 60s if a man raped a woman he wouldnt make it to court cause a sworm of people would be outside the court to stone him to death. A woman even if she was a slut she would double think to cheat on her husband cause if he found out she will be rejected by the whole community her parents her friends her husbands friends etc. People throught the world always had a thing for the bad or immoral staff but the consiquences nowadays are so little that some
people are not even thinking it twice.
@@matepavic6929 TRUE
Give it time. When he’s truly retired, and can’t bring in revenue, she’ll be out the door and taking everything she can with her.
It is easy now to say that Khabib would beat Tony, but a young, prime Tony was a different beast. To compare a 36+ year old Tony to a 32 year old Tony is unfair.
Ground game doesn't fall off as fast as striking. It just doesn't. Speed and chin goes first, not strength, cardio or technique. Khabib would have absolutely ragdolled Tony. That grappling gap always would have existed.
@ Shawn Mendenall I love Tony but I can see that happening
@@KKSuited ground game does fall off bro. Speed explosiveness are integral part of ground game. That's why wrestlers retire.
@@amaresh1797 I didn't say it doesn't. Time wins. It doesn't fall off as fast as speed, chin, and reaction time though. John Smith could still tell us which leg he was gonna low single us on and we couldn't stop it. Alexander Karelin could still reverse gutwrench us into a different time zone. Tony didn't show a lack of strength. He showed a lack of fundamentals that a highly touted black belt and collegiate wrestler should be able to do in his sleep. Catch my drift?
Just shows how much some fighter's deal with out of the octagon, when inside it's normal and they feel safe while doing what they love....
LITTERLY GOING CRAZY FOR HIS CRAFT....THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ONLY 1 "EL CUCUY".... There was stuff going on that you could never tell when on his STREAK, I remember that last ko, he still wasn't there while the referee raised Chandler's hand and also when chuck talked to Tony outside the octagon, MAN FOR HIS FAMILY I SINCERELY HOPE THAT TONY IS GOING TO BE OK, HE DOESN'T HAVE TO PROVE NOTHING TO NOBODY, TONY GO LOVE AND BE WITH YOU BOY , BECAUSE WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT, UFC DOESN'T MATTER, YOU'RE BOY AND FAMILY MEMBERS DO....
ALWAYS ENJOYED YOUR STYLE, JUST NOW I KNOW THAT YOU WERE FIGHTING DEMONS OUTSIDE OF OCTAGON WHILE TRYING TO BE ,IR SHOW THAT YOU ARE OK.
YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE FANS, BUT ITS TIME FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TONY...ENJOY IT, SPEAKING JUST AS A FATHER, YOU WILL LOVE SPENDING MORE TIME WITH YOUR BOY THAN ANYTHING ELSE, GO MAKE AS MANY MEMORIES AS YOU CAN, STAY WELL MY FRIEND...
Definitely one of my favorite fighters - I loved a quote I heard about him. "When Tony gets knocked down, El Cucuy gets up." His heart, toughness, and grit are inspiring.
@Necrotic Lol dinners almost ready boy
@Necrotic dang, a snowflake
@Necrotic You're weird

TBH he was never lightweight contender JMHO
Tony’s wife is definitely one of the MVPs of this story. What a loyal and compassionate woman. Tony was clearly going through some scary and potentially very dangerous stuff, putting her own safety and the safety of their son at risk. I’m sure it was extremely difficult, scary, and distressing. Tony had a good bit of money at this point and given his erratic behavior, I am almost 100% sure she could have easily gone to court, ended the marriage, collected a huge paycheck and left with their son. Instead, she stayed by her man and helped him to get better. What a good woman and loyal wife, hats off to her.
Note: to those of you who are going to say “that’s what a spouse is SUPPOSED to do, you take a vow that says in sickness and in health”-yes, I know. But two things to keep in mind. One is that it’s not like Tony merely had depression, or anxiety, or had hit a low point in his career, or even had cancer, etc. He was behaving erratically and dangerously towards himself and others, he was having psychotic breaks, and there was a young child involved. That makes this a very different situation. And two, yes, I know that is part of the vow you take when you marry someone, but sadly this vow does not seem to be taken all that seriously by a significant percentage of married people nowadays, with many of them filing for divorce due to problems much less severe than those that Tony was going through. So again, hats off to her and much respect for taking her marriage very seriously.
You can tell she loves that man. Her reaction to it all makes me believe that even though a tough man, he was not violent towards her before. She saw a change in him that was not part of his personality before, she took every measure to keep their child, herself and Tony safe. Applaud her for that. In sickness and in health right
Completely agree with you tonys a lucky man to have such a loyal caring wife she must have been terrified at times it's not easy living with someone who is mentally unpredictable she did the best thing and got Tony the help he needs and supported him all the way I really respect his wife she is a dying breed of woman it's too easy for women these days to hold men to ransom or just clean us out and leave us with nothing I wish I could meet someone like her anyway much respect to Tony and his family all the best
If your man beats you, you have absolutely every right to leave and ruin him. He earned that himself and cannot cry about it. However, seeing where it comes from (in this case mental health) and then helping him heal is something thats neither expected nor normal to do, but very very admirable.
@@ilzuab8467 True, I agree with all that but unless I’m mistaken I don’t think Tony was beating her up. I think he was just behaving erratically and acting extremely paranoid and irrational. Which of course is still very scary. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
Tony's had his share of struggles, but he's given the fans so much! One of the most exciting fighters to watch!

It’s really sad to see the fall of Tony. I really hope that he got the help he needed and is doing better now with his wife and son. It seems that even in the moment of insanity claimed, he was still doing anything he could to protect his family. He seems like a genuinely good dude. Getting hit in the head repeatedly is obviously not good for your health. He’s an incredible fighter and again I wish him and his family nothing but the best!
Well he did, according to the video...
get knocked around like that for that long, and you go crazy. simple as that. seems like a good guy by heart indeed tho.
Mental health problems are no joke... was on there for 10 years...I hope more fighters address this issue.

I don't care what has happened in the past couple of years, Tony will ALWAYS be one of my favorite fighters of all time!!!
Tony the kind of guy to get diagnosed with CTE and still book a fight. Ever since the Gaetje fight he just hasn't been the same. Still one of the best fighters ever.
A doctor needs to step in and refuse to let him fight again, the mans deteriorated so much, wont be recognisable within 5 years if he doesnt quit soon
This is the corniest, non-sense mantra shit I keep hearing from everyone who has no idea about the sport or Tony at all. Tony was a shadow of himself against Pettis, so clearly visible, that the knee injury and the time away straight off crippled him. The post-surgery Tony would've lost against Barbosa, RDA and Holland. That cable was the end of his carrer, not that overhyped 1D clown Gaethje.
@@allaci17 In fact Tony's boxing skills are extremely bad. Since Justin is a D1 wrestler, he can't take down Justin. That's why your Tony ended his career.
It's funny how quickly the conversation turns away from his brain health. He's taken way too many shots to the head and that's the biggest worry imo, not his losses or his opponents ability.
He was struck SO HARD in that fight. You can tell when he took the last punch, he was severely damaged afterward.
As a father who battles with issues of my own, man I really am tearing up over this story, huge props to Christina for doing what she had to do and taking care of her husband and son. Tony is a fighter in and out of the ring and most battles are mental. She is a huge part of his success. God bless that family
After watching this I realize how much time and work Tony put in before his body started to show wear and tear. The fight game is definitely a young man’s sport.
Yoel Romero: “I am a joke to you?”
I love Tony Ferguson as a fighter but also as a person. I remember when that audio came out with his wife calling police in regards to his mental health. She did the right thing to get him the help he needed, am glad everything has worked out for him in that aspect even though mental health is a continuous issue. She did it to help him not hurt/harm him. I will continue to watch every fight he is in, I know he will come back stronger than ever, could see glimpses of his old self in the Chandler fight. First round was awesome and his smile going into the second round showed me he is back baby.
I'm hoping he doesn't come back, he has sustained way too much damage and may be the reason for his mental problems he's dealing with, his family is far more important than his career, he will always be known as one of the greatest mma fighters in history but his family needs him more than his fans!
My question about Tony is
did this mental health issue arise after all of his fighting, or was it there before he became a pro fighter? There's no mention in this clip if he had mental health issues before his fighting career , does anyone here no the answer? I wonder what the UFC procedure is when testing fighters throughout their careers for health issues, both physical and mental.
Antipodean what kind of questions are you asking, you are just listening or wanting to carry out such news, you heard about the audio the wife calling for help was that not okay for you, hmm why asking more you can go to the ring ufc let watch out how you fight”
@@Antipodean33 Its likely the cte bringing out underlying mental health that could have pre existed. hard to say if there were mental health concerns prior but its possible that the brain damage from wear and tear is what lead to the outburst. UFC likes money and Tony is a draw
bro calling the cops during a mental health crisis is never the correct move - especially in America where cops are all armed and mentally prepared for escalation. I don't blame the wife especially if she feared for her own safety - it just goes to show how unprepared the US health system is for dealing with mental health crises when the police are seen as the best option for getting support.
The introduction of Tony just gave the goosebumps man....
I just wrote the same reaction 😄
The only player that ever made The Eagle think twice or maybe five times.
Ahahaha 🤣
Tony pulled put twice. Khabib pulled out twice. Almost for identical reasons. Both had bad weight cuts and went to the hospital. Both had knee injuries (although Tony's was not from training, but wearing fucking sunglasses in a dark backstage area two days before the most anticipated event in UFC at that point). Dana took the blame publicly for the 5th fight falling through. It had nothing to do with the matchup for either fighter missing, but Khabib definitely would have beat tf out of Tony.
@@KKSuited lol if you say pull out one more time I'll think you're hot for dagestanians
Tony absolutely would have lost the fight.
But Khabib did not want to sustain the damage he knew that was going to take to beat him.
That's the facts.
Tony was sick and hurt, Khabib was homesick. Not exactly the same thing... anonymous youtube player without a profile pic - I'm inclined to think your opinions are shit without even reading them if you can't even be bothered to set up your account identity.
@@KKSuited lol you're misinformed, first 2 times they pulled out for injuries, 3rd time Khabib pulled out for having a really bad weightcut UFC209 do to the fact that his ass ate Tiramisú cake during fight week, there's even an episode that shows him eating some lol, he also violated UFC protocol by going straight to the doctor instead of calling the UFC doctors first. Even Dana said if he would of gone to the UFC doctors first the fight would of been saved. Tony also offered him the contract to fight again but Khabib refused the contract so they gave it to Kevin Lee. The 4th time Tony got a injury during fight week, all the Khabib fanboys wanna blame it on Tony wearing sunglasses 😂 the dude wears sunglasses everywhere man c'mon, there's also a video where he's kicking a metal pole and they also wanna blame it on that, but supposedly tried to greet someone and tripped when he made a turn, but it's still unclear of what really happen. The 5th time it was all fucked up, but i have reason to believe that it was a set up, probably by Ali Abdelaziz. How the hell the fighter who always says hell never take a short notice fight takes the fight in like 2 weeks notice who's also managed by Ali. There's many points I can hit, but main point is that Khabib dodged Tony for sure, and after UFC209 it was obvious to anyone paying attention
@@russellzauner dude just cus someone doesn't have a profile pic don't mean they're fake, the internet is a fake place that many people don't give a shit about putting their personal stuff on!
Out of the 5 times they were matched I think Tony would of beat Khabib the first 2 times and Khabib would of beat Tony the last 2 times. UFC209 was definitely the best time they could have fought, they were both closer to their prime at that time! Either way, both of them are the greatest LWs to ever grace the Octagon
A very similar thing happened to Roy Jones Jr. when he went up to heavyweight. He put on a ton of weight and became champ. He then very quickly dropped weight to go back to his original weight class. This drop had dire effects on his body. The fast twitch muscle that gave him demi-god like speed and reaction time was noticeably absent.
His body didn't look the same, his abilities were clearly not the same and his fighting abilities were diminished to that of a regular contender. In essence, his career as a near unbeatable monster was definitely over.
This happened to Tony, but he dropped WAY TOO much weight and ruined his abilities.
Don't ever drop weight. It's not worth it. I was a wrestler through most of school and it definitely hindered my health and reduced my potential height in life, permanently. It should be illegal for coaches to have their athletes cut weight for any reason.
I'm confused. When did Tony drop way to much weight??
@@smackdoe3626 fighters cut weight before fights. He had to be 155 pounds for the weigh ins. And his walking around weight (my guess) is at least 165. So hed have to cut 10 pounds off. They do it with saunas, ice baths, and theres a bunch of different ways. Hope that helps!
@@dosidicusgigas1376 i think he's referring to the fact that Tony has always competed around 155 since high school. That's never changed.
Tony walks around at 190 pounds. There’s a video where he says his walking weight. I don’t remember where I seen it but look for yourself. Thats life threatening weight loss twice or even 3 times a year
@@dosidicusgigas1376 Don't forget the simple technique of just chewing gum and spitting. I lost over a pound in just 90 minutes on the way to a meet.
To the legend who gave so much and came so close, you can hold your head up high Tony.
He made it. He held the belt for a lil while.
Your intro with the 911 call gave me goosebumps. That was insanely well made man!
I really feel for him, he's not only a fighter in the ring as we can see by overcoming the issues he did. Great to see him keep fighting on. The wars he has been in have absolutely had a damaging effect on his brain along with others
He is a king who never get crowned
Defently and by far my favourit fighter and athlete ever
I believe the Emotional and Mental breakdown was caused by the UFC. They did him dirty. Who in MMA history has gone on a 12 fight win streak and not been given a title fight. Even though with all the Khabib vs Tony match up failures there should have been other avenues.
Tony has one of the highest pain tolerance in UFC that I've ever seen besides Colby breaking his jaw yet still fighting and Jon breaking his toe.
Gotta love Tony! There’s no one else like him!
Khabib solos
Ferguson is one of my favorite fighters to watch. The fight with Gaethje was heartbreaking.
The tony vs. Diaz fight was legendary
That Tony vs khabib fight would've been legendary prime Tony was a different animal
Khabib definitely would have smeshed him bro.
Real fans do not judge fighters for their latest results. That is something for the birds and the casuals. Its the body of work during a fighters prime that etches their legacy in stone. Noone looks at marshawn lynch's last 2 years in NFL and thinks his legacy is tarnished because he got old...or any great athlete for that matter. El Cucuy fans really have an understanding of this. All sports will have casuals who are unable to grasp these things. It is refreshing to see the fans continue to give tony the respect he deserves despite his latest results. 💚
Exactly!
Could not have said it any better brother. much respect!!!!!!
You copied verbatim what Rogan said. Be original bro. Smdh
CHANDLER KICKED HIS FUCKING TEETH OUT THAT WAS A COFFIN KICK
Sometimes things get said and one takes it on as what they believe...especially from a guy like Rogan.
That's what guys like Rogan do. They give people that aren't as eloquent as him the words to express what they think and know.
There's nothing wrong with repeating it, if the dude feels it's true.
Do you want him to cite his source like its a frikin college essay. Lol. You lil worm.
I love TF, but with all of the mental health issues in the past years, he just can’t keep taking KO’s like that. The CTE is likely already a large part of his mental condition, and it’s just going to get worse with age. I hope he stops for good and stays a legend!
I was worried about the same thing. Considering his work ethic hopefully he was just having a manic episode. And it's just bipolar disorder. But I don't know enough about his life early on, considering how he never spars. Maybe his brain isn't mush yet.
He’s all methed up

Tony is a great fighter and I enjoyed watching his fights but traumatic brain injury is a serious thing as we have learned of past football players. I'm just guessing here and hope I'm wrong. I wish him and his family the best. He has given more than he should for the sport.
Justin Gaethje will be remembered for how many careers he ended. No one is the same after they fight him, Tony being the most famous example but hardly the only one.
His grappling alone is very entertaining... Add that to those striking wars
30:50 The change of direction on that elbow is just sick
I think people are counting tony out too early. He looked very sharp vs chandler until a perfectly timed front kick, very rare in the ufc. He was fast and accurate in the first round, light on his feet. I don’t think he’ll be champ ever again but I could still see a few more wins in him
I personally believe if you fail a weight cut that bad to get hospitalized, you not only lost the fight, but you're an exposed cheater now and should be forced to go up a weight class until you can stand on a scale with both your eyes looking forward!
great video!
Me knowing there’s an Anthony Padilla in CZcams and another Anthony Padilla in MMA just got me feeling like DAMM!
Im certain a prime Tony would give Khabib trouble in a title fight, it’s so sad it never happened
Where in Tony's prime has he shown great enough ground game to give khabib any trouble?
@@Infam0usKiller my point is that Khabib would be caught by unorthodox moves, unexpected moves and the fact that Tony has several inches in reach advantage, he was never getting gassed and could maintain pace and distance like no other athlete in his prime, scary to clinch with and good at finding a way to do damage from any distance. Of course Khabib would do his best to catch him and get the fight on the ground and try the typical mauling strat, but I don’t think it would be as effective vs Tony in his prime, guy’s too tough, too creative and fast and besides that he’s not scared of anyone in the ring and Khabib would have to respect his opponent more when he’s matched physically and mentally
Tony was never the same after the JG fight. SAD

Khabib avoided Tony like the plague. A prime Tony is nearly impossible to defeat. Khabib, to this day, has never faced a ground fighter of Tony's caliber. His ability to fight off his back, was surely to cause major problems for Khabib. Khabib has never really been tested, fighting only smaller striker's.
