Aluminum is underrated! I'm currently finishing up a rim brake Trek Emonda ALR build, which cost me about 1500 USD, including powermeter. The frame is very light at 1140g. It's sitting at 7.175kg with pedals and cages.
Nice one! I had my CAAD9 at 7.22kg riding weight with Garmin mount and mini pump bracket. Just recently built a CAAD10 with Force22 and it's at 7.57kg and I'll replace broken spokes on the same wheelset I had on the CAAD9 and I think it'll drop another 200g. I wasn't chasing the grams too much so went with Force22 to save some dollars and swapped over the stem and handlebars from the CAAD9. CAAD10 feels like a bullet with wings and makes you just want to get out of the saddle and pump the pedals all the time. It's a real Strava segment killer.

It was your video on the topatone that convinced me I could make a light aluminum bike. Trek Domane AL 2 disc under 16 pounds. If i went super weight wennie I think i can get it under 15. Keep up the good work

I've been waiting for this for a long long time !!! I was look to buy a Crockett frame but went for Emonda SL in the end (they were the same price)

Сейчас я собрал алюминиевый черный cannondale topstone 2021 на гидравлике sram apex с рулем salsa и колесах hope на красных втулках hope pro 4. Видок получился классный, но вес 9.5кг. Посмотрел твои видосы и теперь буду снижать вес во что бы оно мне не стало))

Damned, I just put my aluminium Specialized Diverge on a scale. It shows a whopping 9.97kg ! How can I reduce the weight...? New wheels, new saddle?
You can reduce weight on pretty much any component ;)

The smaller the frame size, the smaller the weight advantage of carbon. The additional costs remain the same.
