Damn what an underrated channel! Ur build videos are some of the best I’ve seen! Instant sub, been watching ur videos all night
Thanks mate. Comments like these keep me going 👊🏼
smashing build, very envious. Love the powder blue colourway
Love the video, what an amazing built!
Beautiful build and great video! Thanks for sharing, enjoy the ride!
Thanks!
Man, gorgeous build! Anyway these new AR25s are really nice
Great bike! It really is a dream build!
Gorgeous bike and a great video to show it off.
Thanks Simon!
Kia Ora Oleg, I've just discovered your channel. What a breath of fresh air you are! I enjoy your artistry & devotion to creating bikes that are not only aesthetically beautiful but also truly unique. Damon from New Zealand
Such a good video and it was a great ride. Saw so many more details on the bike than I did in real life 🙌
Thanks for showing the route mate. Looking forward to the next ride in Kent!
Amazing build as always!!! Currently building my first gravel bike using a Revel Rover frame. I’m going to use many similar components as uou except will use Berd spokes to make the wheel set around 800g.
Sounds like a great project! I’ll be using BERD on my next XC wheelset.
Love it,light but still so functional…no idiotic integrated cockpits,a cinch to tweak position.
Agree
Nice build! Great video!
Thanks guys!
Gorgeous build dude!
Thanks mate!
Crazy to think the steel touring bike I jut built is almost twice as heavy. Now all I can think about is building another. Thanks for the videos.
I like the detail of the chain spelling out TW in overhead shot at start.
U´re an absolute artist and Your builds are so much more interesting than everyone else´s more mainstream ways - Peace
Thanks mate!
Wow 😍 what an amazing bike. Thanks for this real motivational video.
Love it!
Awesome as usual. Then there are two of u. I could get much more done if I could do that. Kee up the great work. -Phil
Haha, I definitely need the second me to get everything that I plan done.
Well done, I've also done first rides with my build up. Force, DT350+Carbon and Ritchey landed at 8.0 kg. I enjoy the feeling how it rides also very much.
Congrats on your new build! Also Syre, I assume?
@@TwistedWheels sure
Amazing work. Love this and the aethos build. I’m wondering what the trick to getting the xx1 chain to work with xplr is. I’ve had some trouble dialing it. I’ve got red crank/garbaruk ring. Red xplr rd / cassette. Could it maybe be the garbaruk pulley wheels? Rotor cassette? Both? Thanks!
Thanks. It’s the cassette. If you are using a sram road/XPLR cassette, you need to use a flattop chain
I love it! I want it!
With the lighter wheel set it's about 7 lbs/3.1 kilos lighter than my gravel bike... I can't imagine how nice it must feel.
I recognise that coffee stop/bike shop at the end there!
A quality build!
It’s in Penge :)
@@TwistedWheels Aye, I know Winnie. I'll pop in and have a word over the weekend and have a look out for what are obviously your builds - I'm too old and past it to ride a bike anymore so just ogling past glories!
Loving your channel! Can I ask... what Ti bolt kit did you use for those new Force leavers (Risk RT120 or RT212) and what were the jockey wheels again?
Beautiful build! Could you please share what's the computer mount you're using?
Also I really like the idea of modifying your Cannondale spacer for internal cable routing. Do you have to worry about water getting in there? Does it just train out the bottom of the frame? Or is there a way to seal it where the cables enter?
Huge fan of weight weeny builds however I recently added a RockShox Rudy fork and it has absolutely been a game changer!!! Highly highly recommend!!
I prefer redshift sports stem + high volume tyres for gravel. But it’s great that we have a choice of components for all tastes 👍🏼
@@TwistedWheels I have yet to try suspend the rider type tech vs traditional dampening…. I know it transformed my nearby singletrack course from doable to quite a blast and as fast as hardtail mtb that I ride with
Top video as always! Random idea, would you do a video on lightweight clothing and gear that you use? Helmets, shoes, repair kit etc - might be good for weight weenie to look at all their gear not just the bike
Thanks Callum. I might disappoint you, but I don’t weigh my clothing :)
When it comes to clothing I pay more attention to the looks and qualities. It’s not always about the weight :)
Nice one! Those wheels are on my wish list! Let us know how you get on with them :)
Thanks, will do!
Beautiful build! How's the shifting for axs rear mech on rotor 12 speed cassette?
Thanks. Cassette works great. I also have Rotor 11-39T on my Colnago road bike.
Inspired me to do a similar themed build, but used a winspace g2 and mostly AliExpress parts. Waiting on a few parts but should weigh in at 6.74 kg with pedals and bottle cages. All in cost was about $3,000 usd. Not too bad!

How are the carbon wheels? I been looking at aluminium frame and rims to make sure they last longer and worry less on rim scratches
Carbon wheels are good :)
Congratulations on your new bicycle! I'm not sure about the carbon stem, as far as I can tell, these are generally heavier than light aluminium stems, especially Extralite which has a nice computer/GoPro mount. I also believe that your choice of Tubolito inner tubes is lighter than tubeless, as the sealant is generally heavier (and messier). Finally, I like KCNC disc rotors for religious reasons. By the way, I have the same Park scale and it seems to vary by as much as 100g when repeating weighing the same thing.
Extralite stem was my original choice, but Extralite advised not to paint their stem for some reason 🤷🏻♂️ Also I think that carbon stem looks better with this frame as it has the same shape as the frame and they are usually stiffer.
@@TwistedWheels Thanks for the explanation! I went to a real bike shop today for the first time in years, and there was just this sea of bikes with proprietary stems 😱. I'm not sure about stiffness concerns on this type of bike, since you want shock dampening. One of my favorite bicycles was a Ritchey Road Logic, which was a real noodle.
Looks great! Not a bike for me though, I'd break it in half before even mounting bikepacking bags on it :P
Are you weighing 200 kg? :)
do you know if the frames are actually built in St. Petes?
So much detail in this video thats easy to miss. The steerer tube shape and the space for the hydraulic cables and the cannondale spacer modification could be a 30min "how to" in its own!
I know! And that’s what other CZcamsrs would probably do and make 10 videos instead of one (which would be better for channel growth). But I value your time and try to provide as much value in one video as possible ✌🏼
@@TwistedWheels totally appreciate that - but there is an oppertunity (based on popularity) to revisit some of your optimisations. Another one ive already adopted is the move to RX4, totally broke my stigma on 4-pot calipers.
@@neilk22for me, optimisation is making one video where I build the whole bike and showing all interesting things about it rather than talking about the same bike for the whole year upgrading one part after another. Too many interesting builds happening in 2024 to spend the whole year talking about the same bike 🤷🏻♂️😃
Nice Build, what's the final cost?!
What is the tire clearance for that frame my friend?
Where did you buy the clamping hardware for the shifters?

Are you Austrian? You sound a little bit like Arnold. It’s awesome and your content is even better! I was looking for a channel that builds do-it-all gravel bikes. I live in a city and also use my gravel bike for commuting but take it on the roads and trails every chance I get. I’m very interested in learning how to build wheels like these. Do you have a video that goes into detail about how you started building wheels and what you need to get started? Thanks! Just subscribed 🤙
I’ll take it as a complement haha.
I don’t have educational wheel building videos, but one of the best ones I’ve seen is from Ali C:

Beautiful bike, where can i buy the saddle and -post ?
bjorncycles.com
Where did u paint the Bontrager stem?
What’s the color in RAL?
On Syre factory
What route was that . Didn’t look like London
What was the total build cost in USD?
What did you use under the steam? There seems to me two small black things around your cables?
I am using some cable connector (not sure how it’s called)
Great build, what BB did you opt for?
@ 1:52 > Chris King T47 internal cup
Whats the complete price for this build?
The light wheels rims are the unpainted version or the painted one? Not sure which one to buy
Unpainted PRO
How do you like the saddle? Maybe even compared to the Specialized Mirror ones?
Love the saddle! Spent 4 days in Scotland doing rough gravel and it’s been super comfortable with the PNS Escapism shorts.
Was doing road trip in Spain on a Specialized mirror saddle and it started hurting after first 60km, so resulted in 2.5 days of pain :(
But saddles are very individual. All Bjorn saddles work very well for me.
@@TwistedWheels Thanks! Guess I'll just have to try it then. Been honestly quite happy with my Power Mirror - if only it weren't so heavy haha.
Amazing build! What helmet are you wearing?
Thanks Oliver! It’s Sweet Protection Outrider.
Thanks for replying. Can I find out where you bought the h works hubs from? Can't seem to find them anywhere online. Did you get them straight from h works?
where did you get the Ti shifter bolts for the sram rival axs
On Aliexpress
Those Hubs, did you buy them polished from H-Works? Inquiring minds want to know. Also, you have some very trick wheels built over the course of several build presentations, I would be great if you could talk about ride quality and durability after riding them several times.
Yes, I bought the hubs polished. No issues with the wheels, really enjoy riding them.
Thanks for the reply@@TwistedWheels I visted the H-Works site and did not find polished as an option. I was also interested in carbon spokes from Brisk Wheels and they said they don't sell their spokes separate from their wheels. Any suggestion on sourcing carbon spokes? Thanks again!
I wonder how light you could get an S-Works Crux?
Crux does not meet all my expectations of what I want from a gravel frame, but purely weight wise it will be around 500g lighter
can you share the total cost of the build
can you run the rotor 11-46 casette with the Sram XPLR Rear mech without any modification?
That’s what I do!
Awesome. Thought 45T was max. Stoked that the 11-46 will work!
Lightbike AR25 + H-Works hub. Lightweight products, but do they last? And then for offroad? That is the question...🤔🤔
I’ve been using Lightbicycle rims on my road, CX and MTB bikes for many years and never had any issues, so I’m pretty confident. As for H-works, they are a new player on the market, so durability to be confirmed, but just from the initial observations they are made pretty well and I’ve done about 700km - so far so good 🤞🏼
Thanks Oleg...that bike looked amazing , AND...uh , dude , you are hilarious ! You , in the background , spinning a chain like a stripper...ish ?
Envy..
How much did you spend?
Are the pulley in 12/14 teeth good for Sram Red ? Did you notice something ?
Yes, they are good. No issues
@@TwistedWheels thanks !
Very good video 👍🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
What was the temp outside when you were riding?
-3 degrees
How cab it be light at 7am yet -3 in London? If you fake the weather, what else are you faking?
lol. Will invite you to all my rides next time as an auditor hahaha
Berd spokes for when? Some1 told me about them
BERD for XC bike. Gravel wheels could be built below 1kg even on steel spokes :)
Some1 is only one key stroke shaved off from “Someone” lol
Tubolito on gravel bike.. gluck
Tenet?
If you had read the instructions, you would have found out that the wiring is done from the back to the nose, then conductors and similar cable catchers will not be required

how much the build?
I calculated with quick google searching and without the hubs (price not readily available, you need to ask for a quote) it's at least 8000$
Rear wiring according to the instructions is done instantly without help

It is.

Make bikes, no war. That's my moto now 👍
Wonderful work. A bike made with love and passion. The most important components I assume.
I like the idea of using TPU tubes.
This makes tyres and wheels choice more affordable . I am using these and I have no complaints. Good build. I wonder if you really use Chinese 'quality' groupset components in your next project. I believe that I'm not the only one building bikes and loving alternatives. All the best....
Thanks man!
You could find almost any aluminum stem and save hundreds of dollars and 20-40 grams.
I paid £50 for this used carbon stem on Ebay and I like how it looks with this frame in terms of overall aesthetics. To save 40g compared to this 120g stem, you would need to use either an Extralite stem or Intend stem. Both cost £180. But again, it’s not always about weight! In all my builds, I am trying to achieve beautiful looks and keep the bike functional while keeping the weight low.
Frame is super heavy tbh
Lighter than Open Wide and 3T Exploro that have similar tyre clearance, but don’t have internal routing and threaded bb. It’s also 250g lighter than carbon Cannondale Topstone and 300g lighter than Trek Checkpoint, and definitely much lighter than Specialized Diverge. So I would not call it “super heavy”. It is not the lightest - for sure, but the only one that meets all my requirements.
@@TwistedWheels imo just use a ht frame like the specialized epic ht at 750g
@@Aeroskiii with long front triangle, long chainstays, designed for high 29er forks, no invisible cable routing and limited space for bikepacking bags - nah, i’m good thanks :)
There is a separate video on my channel about why I chose this specific frame and what other options were - there are certain things I wanted my frame to have.
@@TwistedWheels nonetheless if a mtb frame is 750g and the gravel bike is over 1100g
I also have a Cannondale F-Si Hi-Mod frame that weighs 890g - so what?
If you watch my previous video, you’ll find out that I did not have a goal to build the lightest possible gravel bike, otherwise I would have gone for Spesh Crux. But I didn’t.
@@TwistedWheels London is the capital of Great Britain!
Was interested in the Syre until I saw the geo ... it's garbage. Short front center, short wheelbase, slack seat seat tube, relatively steep head angle. Geo doesn't match the tire clearance at all.
Have you ridden it to say that it’s “garbage” or you are an armchair expert? 😄
I’ve ridden this bike for a year and it’s the best gravel geometry I’ve tried: this bike gives the punchy road bike feel, but at the same time allows for 29x2.0” tyres. I’ve done gravel racing, cyclocross racing and some rough bikepacking in Scotland on this bike and I absolutely love it. But of course if your skills doesn’t allow you to handle the bike with the short geometry and you need a long base and slack head tube angle like on a mountain bike - then Syre is not for you 🤷🏻♂️
