Wow this already seems like a big machine for a personal use! At my school we use a Biesse Arrow and that thing is massive!! But here the structure seems pretty thin compared to the length of the platform
go big or go home! ... or maybe go big in your home!
It's a nice sized machine. A little better than the standard 8x4 sheets.
yeah, I can cut some really big stuff. it is actually bigger than the 5x10 stated.
the machine sound big to be produced from aliminuim profile alone why not added some steel for reinforcing
Gonna be a sweet iris shutter...can't wait!
:)
I realize this was sponsored, but what is the actual cost of this kit? I agree their website is confusing. So confusing that I've never been able to sit down and get all the way through putting together a full kit before I get interrupted. So other than the computer to operate it, how much was this?
Thanks!
yeah, that buying process on their site is a bit of a pain. A similar configuration to this would probably cost around 10-15k.
edit- also, this video wasn't sponsored, but cncrouterparts is sponsoring a big project using this soon. I just thought people might enjoy seeing one built.
I've been eye balling a CNC machine, as a hobbiest and not as a professional. I'll have to check the site to see if they have anything like the X-Carve in size and quality that might be a good alternative. Does this setup only work with wood and soft metal?
mindblah Correct. Primarily designed for sheet goods including plywood, melamine, plastics, etc. Aluminum would be the most I would attempt with such a setup (aluminum faced plastic products, commonly used in signage, would be fine with the correct bits). It's just nowhere near rigid enough (and the spindle is far too fast) for heavier materials.
Keep in mind that this is no a product that you order from them. You have to source all of the parts. You need a frame, drive mechanisms (leadscrews (with anti backlash nuts or ballscrews or...), belt, rack and pinion...), stepper motors, spindle, controller hardware, a computer to run it, software on that computer, and more. And you have to source all of it yourself. You can absolutely build a better machine than a (relatively) floppy x carve for less money, but it will take a lot of homework to get there. cnczone.com is a great resource, but even getting through that is a huge effort. It can be done, but it's not anything like ordering one product from a website.
cncrouterparts.com kits come with all the parts but the computer to run it. I can see them all there. The site is a bit confusing, but it is all there. You just have to assemble it on your own.
We do offer many configuration options for our CNC machines, and it
often makes sense to discuss your application with us so that we can
help determine the ideal complete CNC machine for your specific needs.

Looks awesome!
thanks!
Looks like a huge mechanical Iris. Also called a universal diaphragm in some circles....see what I did there...
:)
hi! what type of materials can be cutted by this machine? i have see only wood in other videos but id like to know if its possible cutting metal/glass/plastic and others materials...thank you...great video!
'Assembling' more pertinent
yeah more like it...
Awesome man and nice machine.
awesome machine!
thanks!
Hi
Can you provide a link to where you bought the parts from?
Approximate cost?
Is there an option for auto tool changer?
Cnc envy awesome thanks for sharing.
you're welcome!
so there is a 4th axis upgrade for this machine? or are you doing a DIY?
Just amazing...
where i can find the some one who can build for me this type of cnc router in uk....
sir need :help i have made 5*10 CNC router i have used 45kgcm stepper motors for all axes.draving mechanism is ball screw at all axes lead is 10mm for xy and 5 mm for z . i can not run gantry(x-axis)above 1500mm/m motor stalls at this speed
i am thinking of increasing size of my steppers .will that help ?please sir guide me i am feeling very frustrated. and that so plz suggest me size of stepper motor
power supply and everything is at it's peak.
Loved the video! If this is a paid promotion shouldn't it be tagged as one though?
This isn't paid promotion. Read the article I have linked, I disclose our relationship. they ARE sponsoring a project coming up, but this video wasn't involved in that deal at all. I just thought our viewers would enjoy it.
Fair enough :) I'm building a machine at the moment, extremely jealous of your setup, nice work!
If you don't mind saying..... what was the final cost after everything was said and done to build this cnc? I'm considering getting a 4x8 professional.
The company that provided this Kit is now called Avid CNC if you add a 4th axis, go with the Nema 34 build, and get the 5'x10' plus add a ATC capable spindle + software you come in A bit under the 20K mark
Nice build im jealous..jk
What kind of spindle are you running with that?
hi ,i have a question , can you help me please ?
i want to make a cnc router mill , like yours and i wanna know if for X and Y axis is okay a 8Nm stepper and for Z axis maybe a 4 Nm stepper ? will be enough ? lenght x 2200mm y 1700mm z 500mm
Nice cnc. Who makes it?
my mouth is salivating
Where i should to order this type of cnc sir specially assembly type?
Where did you get the kit, how much and what software interface does it have?
Hint: "CNC Routerparts" .COM
Doh, there are some stupid people on this planet that don't read the title in the video! Oops sorry, and thank you for not lambasting me :-)
It's just the first reply...
about 7000 USD

So you want to build an expanding table?
nope, that's not it! That would be cool though
Please how can I get one of this machine
Might not be a good idea to sit on the table?
it really isn't going to hurt anything
Caleb Kraft you could dance on top of the table. it is mentioned to hold about 800 pounds.
Hold 800lbs, but not in one spot. You could put a low spot in the table.
Only downfall is it cannot use a 5kw spindle to cut hard wood...
You are so good!!! :D
nice cnc sir how price that?
Would be great if I could get a response out of your support staff...
Are the y axis linear rails one piece or split? Thanks
split
It didn't need any surfacing?
yup, it got surfaced. That footage didn't make it into the video
Is this guy Jonathan Frakes' brother or something? :D
Cool!
what's the biggest commercially available pieces of plywood
5, x 10, MDF is common, 4, x 10' plywood is common.
Here in Norway it`s easiest to get poplar 1500mmX3000mm, aswell as some Birch in that size (appr 5x10)
Good morning mate! where do i get these cnc router construction project?
The company that provided this Kit is now called Avid CNC if you add a 4th axis, go with the Nema 34 build, and get the 5'x10' plus add a ATC capable spindle + software you come in A bit under the 20K mark
is there a 4th or 5th axis upgrade?
I may do a 4th axis upgrade at some point.
Is the project a giant robot project? When JME made his giant robot, a big cog like that was used as the swiveling neck.
nope! a few people have figured it out based on my past writings on Make.
Where can I purchase this unit complete or is there a detailed parts list somewhere?
I assume you found your answer but it's now Avid CNC
@@danielray6574 no I stopped looking but still want to
@@rj8254 I just got the 4 axis 6040 for $1k form Ebay, for the money it's a great machine to start tackling the learning curve. chase your dreams!
Which stepper motors used?
nema 34s
probably 8.5nm
How much did the set up cost?

what else would you use to build a CNC machine from but CNC parts... ? Anything you build a CNC from is a CNC part...
I want one
You've got a Nathan too!
Im looking for someone to build a 48x48 inch DIY cnc router
Site with STL models - 3dmodelmania.com
Seems a little small to me.
;-)
sorry to let you down :(
Can't compare to my 7 x 12 (inch) model...
i wish i had one. I have no idea how to do anything like that though so wont be getting one anytime soon LOL If anyone would like to build me one that would be great though LOL :)
it is not that difficult you just need to watch a lot of youtube. You also need to learn all the software from part design to creating tool paths to getting the gcode which goes into the software that controls the CNC. It is not a weekend project you just have to make a commitment and then do it. I build my own controller box by converting a PC case which can run any machine from cnc lathe, mill, router, plasma cutter etc.... The info is out there you just have to learn. Just buying a cnc machine is not enough unless you learn all the other stuff otherwise you just have an expensive paperweight.
So he's creating a clock in his upcoming project with a CNC machine. Okay
nope, not a clock!
Caleb Kraft hmm, interesting. Now I certainly need to watch the next show
ইন্ডিয়ার টাকার কত দাম
clock
noooope

2:19 oh cmon grow up..., nice job

Yes--very un-informative for a beginner... its really an info-nertial...not impressedbob
