That's also a thing. Narakachaturthi is one day of Diwali.

In Maharashtra also the same. I feel as if diwali was a pre rama festival. It was a coincidence that ram returns on diwali day hence the celebration. Non of the 5 days of Diwali actually directly celebrate rams return. There is dhantrayodashi, naraka chaturdashi, lakshmipujan, Bhai duj, and padava. Nothing actually refers to rama returning to Ayodhya.

Thank you Dr Oak ji.....always informative and thought provoking....i wonder if your friends jayshree and romila have any views on this...( pardon the poor attempt at humour )...Maybe if a European plagiarized your work and gave it to them then they might argue many things better....Either way every one of your talks dispels darkness and brings light to all my astronomy friends especially the non-hindus in South Africa....they never thought such advancement was possible so as a joke I tell them to watch the video by C.K Rajoo entitled " A Tale Of Two Calendars " and then I tell them of the timeline you propose for Vedic antiquity and the position of " European enlightenment " or the Renaissance.....not so easy for us in the west to follow straight from our history to comprehend because the AIT syndrome is still having its after effects....I wonder to what extent is the ancient culture of astronomy is being kept alive in India because it ranges from children's stories to civilizational advancement to Ayurveda to itihasa to even the very definitive questions that philosophers and scientists ask in our times......thanks again for a proper Indian perspective .....from South Africa 🇿🇦

      Namaskar
      1. My friend Jayasree has learned her lesson and has realized that remaining 'mute' is the best policy. As you may know, a quote is attributed to Mark Twain, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt," She thinks Ramayana is after 5500 BCE and thus after Mahabharata!
      2. I wrote to my other firend Romila in the past, a long time ago, but she never dared respond. She thinks Ramayana is after Buddha!
      3. Both of them are agenda-driven, are dogmatic, however on the extreme opposite side of the spectrum (Adharma vs Dharma). Both are activists for their own ambitions.
Thank you for your kind words
Greetings on the day of Vijayadashami. 🙏🙏
