Why Only Lord Vishnu Takes Avatars On Earth?
Unarguably, one of the most important curses in the history of Hindu Puranas was that given by sage Bhrigu to Lord Vishnu. Here is the story of Bhrigu cursing Lord Vishnu and how it changed the course of ancient Hindu history.
During that time, it was tough for the Asuras to defeat the Devas in battles. Having lost several times, the Guru of Asuras, Shukracharya, decided to approach Lord Shiva for help to defeat Devas. He also performed penance to Lord Shiva to obtained the Sanjivani mantra that was capable of bringing the dead back to life. Therefore, Sukracharya started to meditate and pray to Lord Shiva to grant him Mrita-Sanjeevani Stotram that would make the Asuras invincible.
Furthermore, Shukracharya’s triumph, that is, if he was granted the mantra of invincibility, would have made it difficult for Devas to defeat the Asuras. Meanwhile, Sukracharya asked the Asuras to take refuge at his father’s ashram, who was Maharishi Bhrigu. The Devas and Indra used this opportunity to attack the unarmed Asuras. In the absence of the sage, the Asuras fled to Bhrigu’s wife, Kavyamata for shelter. Kavyamata used her Yogic powers to immobilize Indra and protect the Asuras.
Frightened by the immobilization of Indra, the Devas decided to take refuge at the feet of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, Vishnu decided to enter the body of Indra and to save the Devas. Kavyamata was enraged by this and warned to burn them down to ashes if they did not leave. However, Indra instigated Lord Vishnu to annihilate Bhrigu’s wife, and therefore, Vishnu used the Sudarshana Chakra on her. Hence, Vishnu used his Sudarshana Chakra to save Indra and the Devas, by severing the head of Kavya.
Sage Bhrigu was devastated hearing what had happened. Bhrigu seeing his wife’s condition, got furious because Lord Vishnu broke his Dharma by killing a woman. Therefore, Maharishi Bhrigu cursed Lord Vishnu to be born on Earth many times and suffer the pain of birth and death as a mortal. Due to this legendary curse, Vishnu had to take countless avatars on Earth and endure all the worldly pain as a price. Although Bhrigu later revived his wife by sprinkling holy water from his Kamandala, he was so deeply infuriated and full of vengeance, he decided not to spare Lord Vishnu.
Bhrigu’s curse demanded Lord Vishnu be born on Earth in several avatars. The avatars included some of the greatest Gods to ever walk on Earth as humans, such as Rama and Krishna.
Without Rama, there would have been no Ramayana, and without Lord Krishna, there would have been no Mahabharata and hence, no Bhagavad Gita. Along with them, even the other Avatars of Vishnu, such as Narshima, Parasurama, and arguably Balaram or Buddha, and all the other avatars who have had undeniable contributions to shape the entire history of our civilization and scriptures.

and since He is the protector of this universe, He takes different forms to complete His task. Every thing has to happen in a certain way. So this thing of Lord Vishnu to incarnate was in this way by a curse. If He wanted , the curse would have no effect on Him. But since He had to protect the universe, He did not oppose the curse.

And according to VEDA & Upanishads, all devas and devatas are creations of Maha Vishnu aka parabrahmam.

The main difference between Avatars of Vishnu Bhagawan and other gods is that with lord Vishnu he was born human and lived a full life . Other gods came in the guise of humans and the guise only served temporarily and they went back to their respective abodes once the job was done
Lord Vishnu is the supreme being who creates, protects and destroys the universes as easy and effortless as a child's play. He is beyond everything. He is not affected by karmas. No boon or curse can have an effect on him. The Lord is born everytime out of his mercy and out of his own wish, unlike us who are born because of karma. If this story is found in any sacred books, what it must be implying is, this is also one of the leela's of Him.

when the holy trinity was dividing divine duties, Lord Vishnu became the protector of Dharma and thus he accepted the responsibility to save it by taking an avatar each time dharma was in trouble. rest of the stories are created after vedas and upanishads were read and passed on.

Ah mate, don't use this as a reference to understand hindu myths lol, some of these vids are true and some are partly true, but this one is completely false. For example in this video, it says Bhrigu ''cursed'' Vishnu, in the actual myths he ''tried'' to curse lord vishnu, Bhrigu wanted to test the powers of each of the trimurti to find out who was supreme. Noticing that he managed to successfully curse brahma and shiva but was unsuccessful when it came to Vishnu, he determined that Vishnu was the supreme amongst the trinity. ( btw what i have said isn't the complete story but the gist of it )

Lord Vishnu fought with Shukracharya Bhrigu's son and even destroyed his followers Hiranyakashipu and Hiranaksha ; the Primal demon kings. After that sons of Shukra carried the Linga worshipped by the Demons and a few of their children into heart of western deserts now known as Arab . Arba, is precursor of word Arab which is also the name of Shukracharya's son who taught Prahlad. Then this same linga thousands of years later was found by Abraham and his son Isaac who happened to start a new religion . A God cannot be cursed or take birth or die. A God is beyond time, space and volume. This is what Islam says about Allah which is the Arabic word for God. Later when both Padmavati and Lakshmi were quarelling among themselves, Srinivas converted himself into a granite statue or idol. That's why the Tirupati Balaji temple is also known as the Vaikunth of Kali Yuga. Many people believe that the Lord himself resides in this temple because a lot of mysterious things occurs in the temple. Also the devotees of Shri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, believe that he himself was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu who has appeared in this Kali Yuga just to restore Dharma and destroy Adharma and to protect mankind.

So "AvTaar" in itself means,
"Falling down from Top Devine State, to a lower Human Form"

All "ISM's" (Hinduism, Shaikhism Shiavism, ISCONism etc.) are just PATHs. And each of them is unique, Devine and capable to show U, "Ur own self". No path is great and no path is small.. That's just our "EGOistic" Belief, in what we follow.
But, as I said earlier, "It's Ur Own Ego, That Blinds U, from seeing the actual TRUTH"
And..
If U think, U came Out of MAAYA, then That's Ur Illusion..
No one can came Out of MAYA.. As it's just a Shadow Of GOD.
In other words..
"MAYA is just a shadow of Ur Own true SELF."
But U believe Ur "Self" As a Body, and that creates EGO, like.. "I am shaiv, l am Vaishnav, l am Hindu, l am Muslin, l am this.. and l am that." And that "I am XYZ", is Ur own shadow- which is Myth..
And..
Any Shadow is just appears to be TRUE, as long as Ur BODY is there and a light source ( like Sun.. OR Pure Knowledge ) is there.
U can not destroy The Source of Pure Knowledge ( or SUN ), so U have to finish Ur Own Self ( EGO), to get rid of Ur own Shadow (MAYA).
But.. this is also not possible easily.. So U have to become the source of pure Knowledge.. like SUN..
Sant Gyaneshwar from Maharashtra ( India), has said that, "If SUN wants to see what darkness is..? How it looks..? Then, in his entire life, he can't see any darkness. As wherever SUN goes, he finds himself, shining the darkness present at that place.. and that place will always be brightened up. "
Means The True Enlightened Persons like Krishna, Shiva, Nanak, Buddha, Jain, Paigambar, Sants, Pir etc. Can never see Darkness ( MAYA, Ignorance, Badness of others, who is great and who is not..? Like shiv is great than Krishna or vice versa), as they themselves are like SUN now, so there will be no SHADOW, Not of Themself or the others..
Our Shadow appears to exists, when Sun Rises, it's just because we are far far Away from him, But when we go closer to it then, there will be no shadow.
When we go Close to sun, Our Body (EGO) just burns out. And nothing remains to show.
So if there is no body, then how can there be a shadow.
So Shadow (MAYA), appears when we are far away from the SUN.. ( Krishna, Shiv, Nanak etc.)
And, it is What, Worlds most of the Sad thing, That.. 'So Called as "BELIEVERS or THEIST" are far-far away from their own SUN.' They are always close to their ISM's, but not to the GOD they believe, and that's why "SHADOW APPEARS" to be TRUE. ( ISM's are just PATH's, toward Ur Own SUN. )
AND..
ONE WILL UNDERSTAND THIS WHEN, HE or SHE BECOMES the SUN..

Who is Vishnu? 1st know that. Bhagwan Vishnu is the be all and end all and beyond. He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Shruti describes him as Bhagwan who is Supreme and who has no 1 greater or equal to him. He is the power of all the Devas and everything rests in him. Yet he is not any of those things and none of those things are him. He and His acts are divine and arent understood even by great Lords Like Shiva and Brahma down to Agni... Then what to talk about us human beings.
Lord Vishnu's Sudarshan left from Vaikuntha to sever the head of Mata Kavya if she came in between and tried to become an impediment for Sudarshan in his objective of killing all the Asuras who had found santuary in her & her husband Ashram running away scared from Bhagwan Vishnu. She being a Shudha Vaishnava requested Sudarshan to stop and not enter the Ashram until she has spoken to Bhagwan Vishnu. Then she does Bhagwan Vishnu's stuti to appear before her and Bhagwan Vishnu appeared. Bhagwan Vushnu told her she has committed a great blunder by requesting Sudarshan to Stop. The moment Sudarshan was requested to stop from discharging his duty by you all your Tap & power of tap you had acquired from throughout your life is destroyed.
Kavya Mata told Bhagwan Vishnu that it is her promise to the Asuras that until they are in the Ashram and she is alive she wouldn't let anyone or anything harm them. Besides Ashram is no place for violence. To that Bhagwan Vishnu The Supreme Personality of Godhead replied... I am not bound by any rules nor can you or anyone stop me from killing Asura. My killing those Asuras is most auspicious for them since their time for Mukti from this Bhautik Jagat, this sansar has come. Their punishment from me will now destroy all their good and bad karma and grant them moksha.
Whoever I kill is only recipient of my mercy because he attains moksha and becomes free from this Cycle of birth death and rebirth. If I don't kill these asuras now at your request when their time of death has already come and its their opportunity to become free from the sufferings of the material caretion... It will not just be grave misfortune and injustice on them but this will put the basic law of Shrishti in danger therefore being my devout devotee you should now step aside and let Sudarshan finish its job killing them.
Kavya Mata after hearing this from Lord Vishnu began crying and saying how come you my dear Bhakta Vatsala Bhagwan can be so unfair, so cruel to me ? Why have you ignored me? Why have these Asuras gotten your mercy while I who with all my might and devotion love and pray you all the time and am still not the recipient of your kripa? Where have I gone wrong in my devotion for you? Bhagwan Vishnu the Anteryamin Bhagwan knew exactly what she was saying and he smiled. He Asked Kavya Mata in that case what would she like him to do?
So Kavya Mata said I should be killed by your Sudarshan 1st and gain mukti from this Bahutik Jagat. This is my wish and it also satisfies my promise to these Asuras that until I am alive and they are in this Ashram they wont be harmed so the sanctity of my promise to them will stay intact and this is what I want from you in boon as now that I've seen you and had your darshan... having your darshan cannot go in vain. Therefore this is the boon that I want from you and nothing else. This is my wish. Hearing this Bhagwan was forced by his Shudha Bhakta and smiled and said you can rethink this. You can go in your ashram send all the Asuras out and my Sudarshan will kill them outside your Ashram.
To this Mata said why are you being so cruel to me? Why you are happy killing these Asuras and granting them mukti but leaving me to suffer in this bautik jagat when as you said who ever is killed by you gets Moksha? At this Bhagwan Vishnu said if this is what you want then so be it (Tathastu) and disappeared. Mata Kavya then folded her hands closed her eyes and started chanting Bhagwan Vishnu's name. She raised her pran vayu to her highest chakra point in her body her head's top most point... its called Sahasrara chakra, totally focusing her consciousness in the form of Bhagwan Vishnu she had just had darshan of. At that point Sudarshan then approaches her giving her the Su-darshan about Bhagwan Vishnu bestowed on her soul moksha.
She fell on the ground with her head severed while Sudarshan moved into the Ashram killing all the Asura hiding there. Only 1 survived who escaped to the Patal Lok. He later became Nana of Ravana. When Maharishi Brighu returned to the Ashram he saw his wife's head severed and Asuras bodies cut off and they dead. He sat down in meditation and through his divya drishti saw all what had happened. He became inconsolable and angry so he asked Bhagwan Vishnu to come and explain to him why he killed his wife.
Bhagwan said I wasn't left with any option. She was not stepping aside and letting Sudarshan do its job. Maharishi Bhrigu then in anger cursed him that he would also take birth as a human and will for 14 yrs even though being from a royal family will have to spend those years in forest. He will for majority part of his life suffer separation from his only wife... Listining to this Bhagwan Vishnu said. There is no curse that can affect me. No weapon that can harm me. No law that can bind me. I am not bound by these material laws however oh Sage Bhrigu since you are such a pious devotee of mine. I will accept you curse And so be it ( Tathastu). Bhagwan Vishnu granted Maharishi Bhrigu's curse validity by accepting it and then disappeared.
the moment Bhagwan Vishnu disappeared his wife who had died appeared before him and her soul said to him Do not cry for me for I've gone back to Vaikunta. I've gotten Moksha. I am free from the bondages of this material creation forever and then she disappears. seeing and hearing all this he remembered his curse on Bhagwan which then made him feel very guilty. He became very sad and his sorrow knew no bounds. He started cursing himself what kind of a devotee am I... Seeing his sorrow only was increasing leaps and bounds by every passing day with no end in sight and Maharishi Bhrigu being such a Maha Rishi his sorrow incresing every day wasn't good for creation at all. So Bhagwan Vishnu again appeared before him and told him that this was his leela.
He wanted Maharishi Bhrigu to curse him. Bhagwan told Maharishi Bhrigu that nothing happens at all anywhere without his consent. Therefore he should not be sad and regain his composure. A lot of things Bhagwan intends to do for mankind and therefore he made a situation where Maharishi Bhrigu would curse him.
End of a brief explaination of this story. Pls start reading authentic scriptures. Stop watching bollywood serials. They are all kuda kachra. Utter nonsense.
