  • Story Of Agastya Muni
Agastya Rishi was a very renowned sage in Hinduism. From conquering mountains to draining the seas, Agastya Rishi had immense power over nature. It was due to his highly elevated spiritual state that he had achieved the position of a Saptarishi meaning one of the seven sages who played a crucial role in the shaping of early Vedic traditions and the dissemination of spiritual knowledge.
The birth of Agastya Rishi actually begins with an incident between King Nimi and Vashishta. Once, the heavenly Apsara Urvashi went to Varunaloka with her friends. When Mitra and Varuna saw Urvashi, they immediately fell for her. Their semen fell into a jar and from which Agastya and his brother Vashishtha were born. They were adopted by the King of Ikshavaku.
Rishi Agastya knew that his destiny of being a married man lied here and blessed the king and a daughter was born. She was named Lopamudra and grew into a beautiful and an intellectual princess. Lopamudra soon grew up to become an extremely beautiful woman. As she reached marriageable age, the king of Vidarbha began looking for a suitable groom for his daughter. At that time, Agastya approached the king and asked for his daughter’s hand in marriage. The king was in a dilemma. He did not want his beautiful daughter to marry an ascetic who lived in the forest. But on the other hand, he was fearful of Agastya Rishi. Lopamudra told her father that she wanted to marry Agastya. Hence, the king relented and Agastya was wedded to Lopamudra.
Agastya began drinking up the ocean, and the Devas watched in awe. When the ocean was completely bereft of water, the Kalakeyas were revealed. The Devas rushed at the Kalakeyas and began slaughtering them.
To teach Mount Meru a lesson, the Vindhyas started to grow its peaks - to become the biggest mountain in the world. Soon the mountain peaks blocked the path of sun and moon. Devas became worried as sunlight did not reach on all parts of earth. They approached Sage Agastya for a solution. He promised to help them. Agastya said to Vindhya that he is going to South India and should remain in the same posture until he returns. Agastya then set up an ashram in South India and stayed there. Vindhyas never raised its peak and remained in the same posture.
Muni Agastya also finds his mention in several Puranas like the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Ram, Lakshmana and Sita met Sage Agastya during their 14 year exile.

The second one is the Composition of Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam in the form of a dialogue between Hayagriva and Agasthya rishi.

No you are not wrong. There are so many legends regarding the origin of River Kaveri. Maharshi Agastya has played a crucial role in bringing Kaveri to earth. Once a great drought affected the people of South India. For many years, people had to suffer from this drought.
Seeing their misery, Maharshi Agastya decided to help the people of South India. So, he went to Lord Shiva for help. Lord Shiva gave him his divine water. Maharshi Agastya carried the sacred water with him down to South India. But he didn’t know how to use it.
Since the time was running short, Lord Ganesha took the form of a crow and spill the sacred water from Agastya’s pot. Suddenly a miracle occurred and from the divine water sprang forth River Kaveri, who is until this date quenching the thirst of lakhs of people. River Kaveri is considered as the Ganga of South.

🙄 pls don’t underestimate the collective efforts in invention, evolution and beautification of Tamil language. It’s ok to boost that Sanskrit is god given language (but it’s clearly collective human effort of our ancestors), humans beautified both these languages and give it to the gods, nothing more nothing less. As a Hindu myself, in order to make the gods or Agastya proud and explain their divinity and the intelligence they possessed, we gave honourable posts like this, that’s all. Agastya learned Tamil from the tamils, and excelled in it.

Besides these, there are 2 other things too
    1. Sage Agastya and his divine wife Lopamudra were the chosen vehicles to impart the Lalita Sahasranama and Lalita Trishati, two very powerful chants of the Divine Mother. Hayagriva, an avatar of Lord Vishnu from the earlier manavantara, was instructed by Devi to impart this knowledge to these worthy recepients of the current manavantara.
    2. Sadhguru says that Agastya's entire body of knowledge is mystically preserved for eternity in the South Face of Mount Kailash. This is another reason for the immense power felt while visiting Kailash.

      WORST state in india for

      Students.
      All are Hindus
Christians and Muslims only can study in some low class Missionaries of Christ School like Convent and end up being some clerk ,peon in some small private no good office
      Or alter boy at church
Begging for alms, accepting free rice bags and becoming Christian.
      WORST state for Education and
      Infra structure and development is
      Converted to Christianity state
      Called Tamilnadu.

Agastya learned Tamil from the tamils and excelled in it.
PS: Which and which is older language is not my concern. Both are 🔥❤

Murugan (Kartikeya) He is the God of Tamil. On his behalf, Agasthiya wrote the Agathiyam (Tamil grammar).
    For shiva , saints wrote like தென்னாடுடைய சிவனே போற்றி!
எந்நாட்டவர்க்கும் இறைவா போற்றி! ( Praise the Lord Shiva of the South!
Praise God for all people! )
The main problem is that the story from the north (Aryan book) is completely different from the scripts we learn in the south (Dravidian books).
