While most of us know that Ashwatthama was the recipient, of the deadliest curse in the history of mankind, by none other than the Supreme Lord Krishna himself, not many are aware that Puranas also mention that over a period of time, Ashwatthama overcomes all the effects of his curse, and becomes one of the Saptarishis.
But before we know how he goes to become a Saptarishi, let us find what kind of a person was Ashwatthama.
Ashwatthama, also called Drauni, is the son of Guru Drona and Kripi. He is also the grandson the sage Bharadwaja. He was given the name Ashwatthama meaning ‘the horse-voiced’, as he cried like a horse when he was born. Being a mighty Maharathi (most experienced warrior), he fought on the Kaurava side, against the Pandavas, during the Great War of Kurukshetra.

It also said that ashwathamma disguises himself as an poor old man with Leprosy on his body and beg for alms (bhikhsha) For food in the ceromonies of chariot celebration wherever and whenever lord Krishna's chariot processions are there like Puri Jagannath in Orissa , Guruvaayur krishna in Kerala,Dwarka chariot in Gujarat and Udupi krishna temple in Karnataka .

It is believed that Ashwatthama met Parashurama in Western ghats ( created by parashurama) and they live there with Hanuman and other chramjeevis in disguise.
If I'm not wrong, Ashwathama is cursed to suffer till the end of Kaliyug and not 3000 yrs.

Every character in Mahabharata is interesting and important. While the highlight revolves around Krishna, Pandava and Kauravas, equally important are characters like Bhishma, Karna, Drona, Kripa, Ashwatthama, etc. Most of those who fought against Pandavas, despite having superiority in battlefield lost due to the tactics deployed by Krishna, which were driven by the 1st purushartha of Hinduism - Dharma. If not, even Krishna knew very well that these Maharathis would win the war and hence the reason of his presence in the war. This was known to Bhishma on advance.

Saptha Rishis are the first disciples who received the knowledge from Shiva. Hence, there cannot be another saptha rishi, for the simple reason, saptha means seven. Numbers cannot be altered.
After the end of Kaliyug when a new and fresh era of this universe and planet finally arrives the new Saptarishis will be appointed and Ashwathama will be one of them.

First of. Shiva is the supreme god then comes lower realm gods like Vishnu and Brahma.
Never a day Krishna did not whorship shiva ever day and night. He even perform night rituals for shiva. God of all gods is shiva. Not Krishna or Shanmuki.
We should never compare Thrimurthis (Bhramha, Vishu, Maheshawara), as all these three gods are interlinked to each other. It is mentioned in puranas, those who compare these three gods are considered to loose their knowledge and power to think.

All evil people can go to heaven only for small period but will be put back to hell for most of the period. All good people will see hell for a shorter period then will go to heaven throughout his tenure.If any evil wants to seek forgiveness then he has to do huge tapashya without food,water inside huge natural calamity, storm,rain,heat and then God may be satisfied to him and forgive him.

@@jessyjane4465 yes it's written that Duryodhan has went to swarg for his immense courage even when everything was finished.But when Yudisthir went to hell then karna and other brothers were there.Then yamraj and other Gods came there and said you will live in swarg for the rest of life.Slowly that place converts to heaven.Then dharma Raj said that people have to go through hell and heaven.however for how much time you have to stay in heaven and hell that will be decided by the way of your life.your 5 brothers have faced narak(hell) more than you because their sins are more.But they are free now just like you.Now you will live in heaven.If you initially live in Heaven, most of the time you have to live in hell and vice versa.all though nothing has been said about Duryodhana after that it is quiet implied then he will live in hell for the rest of period (untill punarjanm).
@@jessyjane4465 It didn't exactly say that but it said he spent his time in hell for his sins and then was granted heaven. But since there is also the case of rebirth, I am pretty sure his next birth would have been bad. Plus time passes differently on Earth and other loks so its hard for us to say how long he spent in hell but I am sure it was a lot. Being prideful is one thing, but attempted murder of cousin at a young age, ordering your brother to strip your sister-in-law, just because you want the throne and your cousins are better than you, I can bet he spent a long time in hell. But during those time war was an important thing because it was that kind of yuga, so you wouldn't go to hell for starting a war. This yuga is different so some guideline may differ however the major things will never. Since it is not a warrior age, maybe starting a war is more punishable now? I am guessing but I am sure he spent his good time in hell and his rebirth was at a poor family where he suffered a lot.

Aswatthama did not kill anyone in sleep. He only attacked unaware dushtadyumna, since he killed his father. He fought and killed in battle all other warriors in night raid alone, with shiva's help. Shiva helped him to kill all panchalas including sons of pandavas, so aswatthama is not be blamed, he would have failed to enter the camp, if shiva refused him when he prayed to him. Aswatthama killed sons of pandavas in battle, and they were the first one to attack him so aswatthama brutually slaughter them, he even cut shikandi body in two half. Only draupadi & bhima were angry at him, and aswatthama launched brahmashira weapon because he was outnumbered by them, his trust on them has gone after they did not punish his father killer earlier, so he unleashed that weapon as self defence. Krishna cursed him, because he killed a child.

in sanskrit, they are pronounced as DronA , YudhisthirA , ArjunA, with prominent A at the end. So, the pronunciation of names is right!
For your kind info what they are pronouncing is right Sanskrit jaan lo pehle, even south mei bhi they call like that only alphabet Pura pronounce hota h properly. Adha kha ni jate h stylishly Sanskrit mei. Prayers mei bhi notice kia hoga. Either most words end with a vowel sound or 'am' in Sanskrit. English mei bhi spelling dekha hoga toh Krishna likhte aare h, Krishn ni, Aditya not Adity etc
