Just a mild correction, the chariot on which Arjuna and Lord Krishna were fighting the battle had not 4 but 5 horses that depict and symbolise our 5 senses. It is particularly as to why Lord Krishna is also called Hrishikesh which translates to the Controller of the 5 senses.

@tatedagreat It’s funny you mention that because my inspiration for the story I was working in was making an Indian inspired hero in a fantasy world. Think Wizard of Oz meets last airbender. The reason for Narasimha's peculiar form is due to the Demon Hiranyakashipu's boon. An atheist hindu but surely the hindu ideas in the gita , the buddhist pali canon , the gospel of mark & the tao te ching are basically my foundational morals in adulthood. For i think the basic idea of dharma or the tao or the logos is to search for truth and swim in its depths , so i separete my views as an atheist for the material world and my views as a fellow human contending with order and choas in the modern day world. Nagarjuna & Apostle Paul's writings are also very deep. Some sufi islmic philosophers are also a delight.
so if i undersatnd reincarnation correctly, these are individual people with the spirit of Vishnu? How long do they live? Are they immortal? what is the gap of time between each?
Nah the avtars are Vishnu himself . They remain on earth as long as they are needed , then they ascend back to vaikuntha dham i.e. abode of lord Vishnu . They can ascend directly as lord Rama did or could die to fulfill certain condition like Krishna did , to comply with a curse .

The details about the avatars prior to Rama come in form of short stories but large epics about Rama and Krishna have survived. Interestingly, the writers of both epics encoded the astronomical observations during the major events that were happening and using just this info, you can pin point the year (even the day in many cases) when those events occured with the help of modern astronomy software. From the many people whom I've come across that have tried dating them, the one with the most scientific approach was Nilesh Oak imo. He has dated Ramayana to 12,209 BCE and Mahabharata to 5,561 BCE. You can also find the exact dates the major events occurred during those years on his blog.
For those who don't know the story of hiranyakashyapu is quite interesting. He had a blessing that he can't be killed either in day or night, neither inside the house nor outside, neither on land nor in air, neither by a man, God or beast. So, The Narsimha avatar is half-human, half- beast. He got killed on his lap during the time of evening at the doorstep

So you can see in ancient India there were different schools of thoughts existing at the same time and one of it even got it right! Truly truly incredible!
Hey just wanted to say that at 12:09 when you talk about Sita’s swayamvara, the condition was to lift and break the bow of lord shiva. Rama was able to accomplish it because well first off he was the avatar of Vishnu and secondly Sita was the Avatar of goddess Lakshmi who was Vishnu’s wife. She couldn’t have been with anyone other than Rama

Please make a movie about Brahma and creation based on Hinduism, thank you

@rbgeneral4630 Shiva Doesnt has avataars...rather...Swaroop...
so if i undersatnd reincarnation correctly, these are individual people with the spirit of Vishnu? How long do they live? Are they immortal? what is the gap of time between each?
Nah the avtars are Vishnu himself . They remain on earth as long as they are needed , then they ascend back to vaikuntha dham i.e. abode of lord Vishnu . They can ascend directly as lord Rama did or could die to fulfill certain condition like Krishna did , to comply with a curse .
@@akshat_khare Cool, thanks. Makes me wonder how of this connects with all the other mythos, pantheons, and histories. I'd say Hinduism is the oldest though.

@@timothy8080avatars are descent of divine in lower form. There are numerous thousands of avatars of vishnu, but these are top 10, like we make top 10 best song. Avatars may either be vishnu himself like rama, vamana, krishna, etc or someone chosen by him who possess same quality as his sent from his throne of heroes.
You are in the right way of the story, unlike someone else making additional things to the story your story is right, but it is incomplete,
That's bcoz he copied the entire thing from some website.

So y'all saw the "Varaha" (boar) avatar of Lord Vishnu, right? So on ancient temples he can be seen holding "earth" on his tusks, here's the interesting thing, there are sculptures on various ancient temples on which can he can be seen holding a disk (flat earth), a semi sphere and even an oblate spheroid (the actual shape of our earth)!!!!! So you can see in ancient India there were different schools of thoughts existing at the same time and one of it even got it right! Truly truly incredible!

As per my knowlege, Buddha is not an avatar of an avatar.
If I remember correctly, the condition was to tie the string to the bow, but while doing so Sri Ram ended up breaking it
Condition wasn’t to break the bow. He accidentally broke it which made Parshuram mad.
@@NECR0MENCER no the condition was to break the bow. “The accidentally breaking thing” is like a misconception. And yea Parashurama did end up getting mad. But since Ramayana does have different versions I won’t argue about it much 😅. What I’m saying is purely from the perspective of the Valmiki Ramayana (aka the original and first recorded script of the Ramayana, basically it’s a contemporary)
buddha is NOT an avatar of Mahavishnu. After Shri Ram, it is Shri Balaram, Shri Krishn and Shri Kalki.

@@changtaichemandishira9913 I never said history. I simply said religion. If Islam and Christianity are religions the same is Hinduism, Nordic faith, etc. For me Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and all other religions are mythological only.

Story of Sugata Buddha: 9th Avatar of Lord Vishnu
Sugata Buddha, believed to be the 9th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born in Bodh Gaya or Kikata. He was the son of Anjana. In contrast, Gautama Buddha's birthplace was Lumbini, and his mother was Maya. This distinction is crucial in understanding the narrative surrounding Sugata Buddha.

buddha isn't definitely a version of Vishnu. Buddha's dharma is different, and the surrounding mythology is too. Indra isn't downgraded in Buddhism, also Brahma isn't.
